Homemade
How happy we were while
eating homemade foods
in some Congolese and
Nigerian restaurants
in different places
of Pretoria.
some longtime friends
enjoyed different fried fish
(from lake Tanganyika) ,
nice salade with cassava pap.
It was an excellent hospitality
which I experienced on those days
with them in different places
around and out of town where
we could find homemade foods ,
cultural garments and other stuffs
preferable by all bantus.
I think those healthy foods
increased some calories
in my body as my heart was super exited
while sharing with some home friends
In a foreign country.

Bantu ngoma sounds in dark nights,
"Tunti! tunti! tunti! tunti! tunti!
Baaabi! baaabi! baaabi! baaabi!"
Many young and old bantus
Sarounding wood fire while
Dancing and singing some
Bantu songs which were
Left by our four fathers
kept jealously
In our memories
And sing them daily

You are very
Intelligent,
All eyes
On you,

Some ears

Message:
Majority black communities
Always failed to support
And protect
The very intelligent
People among them.
It always be a secret motive
To eliminate them through charms
Or poisons.
Being a very intelligent to some
Bantus and other black groups
Was always a danger
From the begining of colony
to today.
More black people were instructed by the Majority colonisers to eliminate
Their very intelligent people
And that pratique continued secretly...
Which is " selfhate "

Continue telling the truth
About some wong deeds
of some bantus
Privately

it is opening doors
To more secret and open conflicts.
Many people died
And continue to die due
To speaking the truth here and there.
Majority bad people are always well portrayed
Reported and publisied,
Majority good people are always bad portrayed ,
Reported and published.

3RD PLACE, "Write BANTUs" Poetry Writing Contest
Sponsored by Suzanne Delaney; judged on 4/6/2023
"Two-line Bantu (or Abantu) poetry developed from the Bantu people of Africa (speakers of the Swahili, Kinyarwand, Kirundi, Zulu, Xhosa and other related languages). It arose from the oral tradition of “call and response.” In the rhythm of their work and perhaps in the spirit of a game or to relieve boredom, people would call out to each other. The first speaker called out a line that contained an image. A second speaker replied using a second image. This second image was meant to function as an elaboration or metaphor of the first."

Less vibrant berries have sweeter seeds.
Foster them for you reap what you sow.
Bees' wildflowers flourish on flowing water.
Elsewhere, a rose is opening its wings.
