To cover up a scab. 
The lies won’t disappear. 
Only a temporary cover up. 
You can still see the scar. 
Always an excuse with a band-aid. 
Just a figure of speech. 
Dust under the rug to compromise. 
To avoid confrontation or a fight. 
The guilt is rising.

My 2-year-old niece,
had some vaccinations.
When she got home,
she looked a down.

Didn't want to play with her brother
Or be touched by their parents.
She was sitting in a corner,
with a very sad face.

Her mother worrying a bit.
Checked her temperature, she was fine.
She noticed her girl,
was constantly looking at her arm.

She would say the band-aid was a quick fix

Using a band-aid to cover a scrape or cut
Keeping out the dirt and any smut

Some places I have trouble putting a band-aid on  
It’s only me, my wife is gone
