baggage
some good, some bad
all carried with for life, that's
family
Like ghosts in my pockets, weighing me down,
burdens echoing with quiet sorrow,
coiling tight around the soul in silent pain.
Some weights like umbrellas cast aside after storms,
others iron shackles, rusted, locked in permanence—
all carried unseen, but deeply felt.
Knots in the spine, scars engraved on the mind,
tangled threads, riotous roots of clinging shadows—
held tight, wrapped in sorrow and guilt.
The weight of unspoken words,
unfinished tasks, unkept promises,
and unmanageable memories—
all soaked deep in regret.
Letting go is not an option
when remorse is all you have,
and anguish your only friend.
it's baggage on our mind when we'd prefer to be free
we at once realize we've become caretakers
weighed down with the burden of responsiblity
look and resist the craving to own
enjoy things in the moment
it's surprising how little we need
seek the freedom to be open
to what comes our way
unburdened and unencumbered
stuff is the anchor to our past
we deserve to allow ourselves
the freedom to be free

get rid of all your baggage if you want to succeed in life
In a dream, beneath Columbus' watchful gaze,
Where the capitol’s dome with the blue heavens waltz,
Strolling alongside the Governor, in harmonious ways,
Our footsteps chanced upon the city's hidden vaults.
Dusk beckoned, a murmur urging us to roam,
Cleveland, my home, through the fantasy did thread,
First adrift, then guided by heart back home,
A train missed, the voyage's lament, a path of dread.
Another locomotive, with heartbeats encased in metal's hold,
My briefcase and luggage, on the platform abandoned in the frost,
A conductor’s poetic words, let go of your baggage, be bold,
Tales of life's loads, and the art of releasing what's lost.
Halted, the train on destiny's meticulously drawn line,
A voyage through life, where loss and blessing entwine,
At every halt, a lesson, an opportunity to align,
Where dreams and reality, over time, combine.
“Baggage”
Baggage collected
scooped up in the arms
of strange angels
the unexpected
expected
some time
will deliver
the poetic
message
reasons
in humerous
rhyme
saints arrive
barefoot
no glass slippers
Love
Joy
Be
without
baggage
all in good time

Can't tell if those are seeds or ashes...
This broken baggage's got to go.
I reached a point in life where I was so disillusioned,
in my head there was nothing but chaos and confusion
I had trunkloads of trouble
piled up like rubble,
and suitcases stuffed with so much sorrow,
I couldn't see my way to tomorrow
My emotional baggage was overflowing with bad news
Shall we say I had issues?
My luggage was filled to the brim with lies and deception,
and I knew I had to do some serious introspection
Up til then, I had no inkling
of how far down I was sinking
And it was a good bet
I would have to change my mindset
I saw a few soothsayers
and came across a few nay-sayers
Then I came clean with my woes
and apologized to all my foes
Eventually, I was shown
a peace I'd never known
With time, I stood the test
and I LOST MY EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE SWITCHING PLANES OF CONSCIOUSNESS
The Holiday
I looked on the net for a holiday
To visit somewhere picturesque
And escape the mundaneness of life
Just me, the car, and the wife.
We priced up guest houses, hotels
Would it be the lakes, mountains or fells?
A cheap, luxurious getaway, of four days
However far you run, your baggage stays
After hours of pondering ums and ahs
We couldn’t decide, which hotel’s spa
Then we realised, me and the wife
A pretence doesn’t change your life
So, we are staying home, our own bed
Who really needs a holiday? she said.

My baggage had at last caught up with me.
It and I had parted ways some years past;
tossed out and thrown away the master key.
But here it is, returned; the die is cast.
It had been round the carrousel before;
I saw it once or twice but never claimed.
Now, suddenly arrived at my front door;
I'm here, I'm back, it boastfully proclaimed!
What damage can a piece of baggage do?
A lot, it seems, if you live Mitty lies
and on false premise, unfriendly debts accrue.
So I find myself, to no great surprise,
again a member of the bourgeoisie.
My baggage had at last caught up with me.
Castle,
mansion
boat,
plane,
swollen ego
immense pride
huge arrogance,
your notoriety violence
nothing you can take
when you leave here....
From here to beyond...
Even if that were the case,
where are you going,
there is no place or space... !
Not fleeting ephemeral passenger
i travel without luggage
for the grand and last trip
Reborn here now without baggage
A soul so free to act on whim
A path so new my eyes salvage
The end, the edge, my self’s give in
Horrid past, unwanted future
Reborn here now without baggage
Looming cold and distant creatures
Sold body to prying lament
Closed all doors so none will turn page
From behind or beyond, not woe
Reborn here now without baggage
Men revel in glory of foes
Falling out forgotten forever
Losing clout from beloved marriage
No more a thought nor a torment
Reborn here now without baggage

Reborn here now without baggage
New life new dream brand new package
Fancy free sky is the limit
Green esteem going to win it
Love for life and zest for action
Treading road led by my passion
Passion for you passion for me
Poetic muse red cherry tree
Come to me darling meet me there
Running fingers in long brown hair
Tell me truths maroon heart desire
Blouse blue loose set me on fire
I love you then I love you now
I love you thin I love you round
Without baggage easily found
Rainbow love painting on head crown.

Reborn…here…now…without baggage.
Utterance of repentant lips.
Christ carried on cross the damage—
thorns, brambles, spikes, hooks of cursed whips.
“I’ve made my bed, now lie in it…”
Reborn here now without baggage!
Merciful Lord, my sins acquit.
Bitter, sweet and deep death passage…
Baptism’s pure salvation-salvage,
Refreshed with clean conscience, exposed.
Reborn here now without baggage.
Traded all my sorrows, composed.
I’m lifted up on eagle’s wings,*
Soaking up scriptures— love’s language.
I’m grateful for the King of kings.
Reborn here now without baggage.
