Premium MemberI Am An Old Codger

Improving our status requires hard work.

An abundance of years has made us old.
Majority of school mates have gone on.

And accelerating days increase our speed
Newly reborn by accepting Jesus as my personal savior.

Only as old as we feel.
Liar, liar, pants are on fire
Death has it’s eye on us.

Cozy was not synonymous with old.
Objective in life, is outperforming our expectations.
Death is the payment for our use of space.
Golden years is a misnomer, some are more like rust.
Edifying God always makes our life easier.
Recommend making your peace with God before it’s late.

beautiful gift
     lord has given me;
          enriching my life again...

          so thankful I am,
     every day; fatherhood is...

Premium MemberBenjamin

The Benjamin that I know is, like the Biblical
Character, the YOUNGEST of 8 sons. For the last
Year, I have sensed that there is something that
I am supposed to impart to Benjamin. I have not
Concluded what that impartation is, but I will begin
By sharing an acrostic poem bearing his name.

BELIEVERS do not have room for doubt and fear

EVERY door is an opportunity to explore and excel

NEVER say never, but rather, forever say, "I can"

JUSTICE may condemn me, but Christ pardons me

ANTICIPATION explodes within and makes me wait

MANY are called; few are chosen; most refuse

I can do all things through Christ

NOTHING shall be impossible to those who believe

B orn on a Wednesday, a child of solemn woe
L onesome in wonder, though flirting with the 'why's
U ndine's daughter, thus brazen like a flow
E rudite wanderer, fleeting in the sky

G ladly I receive this God-given mystery
I ncandescent oceans hiding deep discovery
R ivulets outflow as ink-penned filigree
L aced in providence, this azure pattern of me

Premium MemberWorship

Worship occurs when body and spirit bow,

Offering up and surrendering our will to God,

Realizing that He alone is worthy of my

Solemn expressions of love and submission.

His Holiness and Grace are acknowledged.

I am accepted because of Jesus' sacrifice.

Praise should follow my worship.

Juniper,* you are a blessed tree, endowed by God for all to see
Umbrella you were to Prophet Elijah when from distress he did flee...
Never denying your sheltering role, helping ecosystem to be whole
Indeed fulfilling goal, as haven for birds, even for tired soul...
Performing best, providing habitat for wildlife with protective zest
Evergreen that smites longevity's pest and stands firm midst test
Ready to grant rest under your foliage toward victory's crest.

*1 Kings 19:4 But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.

Do Your Worst

Perhaps you think I’m sitting here, amazed.
Egregious as the test you set me is,
the truth is, I am utterly unfazed.

Desultory, to me, this kind of quiz.
Of course I like a challenge. Don’t we all?
God’s chosen one? The lawyer. He gets his.

Concupiscence I’ll use (I have the gall):
attendant difficulties, I ignore.
Tough polysyllables? The merest squall

before the sunshine. What I most adore,
objectively, is playing with your mind:
you throw me junk, I somehow make it soar.

So do your worst. I thrive on rotten rind.
Opprobrium I effortlessly flout,
neglect embrace: contumely, leave behind.

The rancour’s like the Russians, put to rout,
or North Koreans, tied up, tamed and tazed.
You’ll try, but you will never catch me out.

Premium MemberGod Bless You

God gave you gifts that you may use them
Omnipresent He is hoping you choose Him
Do press on He will walk with you

Be meek as a child watch God move
Live your life as best you can
Even when disappointed by man
Solid rock is the word and
Stand on this not sinking sand

Yahweh is and He says I am
Oil anoints the head
Understand He has a plan

Trixie, my muse has a duty to inspire
Hold your ideas; they are yours alone
Enthusiasm helps me with my poem

Never boss me, or we will be through

Ebullient, my outgoing self is like an
X-ray of my innermost
Thoughts. I enjoy taking the
Risk that I am putting myself
Out there for others to
View my soul. I expect
Everyone to share my life while they
Resign
Themselves to listening to me fancy myself
Erudite on every subject, exposing my
Demons and dilemmas
