The old bell's echo still lingers in the air,
Not only in museums, but in the lives we share.
Through weathered words and faded ink,
We honor those who dared to dream and dared to think.
Yet freedom is not frozen in the past,
It grows with every year that passes fast.
In every song, each brushstroke that is bright,
New voices carry history into light.
The fireworks bloom where the stars belong,
A modern chorus joins an ancient song.
Remembering where our journey began,
While shaping tomorrow with hopeful hands.
This Fourth of July, may we celebrate both,
The courage of yesterday and the promise of growth.
For liberty only lives when hearts remain free,
Creating a future worthy of history.
The quill trembled on that day,
as hope defied an empire’s might;
their signatures lit freedom’s way,
a vow to guard the nation’s right.
As hope defied an empire’s might,
drums thundered through the winter air;
a vow to guard the nation’s right
was carried by the brave who dared.
Drums thundered through the winter air,
from frozen camps to fields of green;
was carried by the brave who dared
to shape a land where all stand seen.
From frozen camps to fields of green,
their signatures lit freedom’s way;
to shape a land where all stand seen—
the quill trembled on that day.
Chariton Iowa has a carnival every Fourth of July
The entire town flocks up there to watch them set up
They are open for business in a few hours
Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, tilt-a-whirl
The true magic happens in the evening
sky is lit by neon lights fancier than a sheriff’s topper
ambiance is mystical and magical
you can hear the screams of carnival riders
wonderful smells fill the air – funnel cakes and caramel apples
lines waiting for them as long as a box car
everyone chattering together, for this is a small town
two or three people carry large pink or blue teddy bears
barkers try to entice me to spend my money
I know better than to give up everything on the “maybe” wins
I am heading for the Ferris wheel and tilt-a-whirl
the merry-go-round is for the little ones. They are giggling
Strangely, the carnival in the evening is ten times more magical
Because of the sky? The crowd? The emphasis on the bright lights?
No idea, but it always seems like a dream come true, a fairy land
Something to cherish until the next Fourth of July
Today, they’ll fire up the grill
For burgers, hot dogs, ribs
And hungry guests will gather ‘round
To point and claim first dibs.
I will not be among them,
Though I’ll not be too forlorn;
My husband mashed potatoes
And made chicken and some corn.
At night there will be fireworks
But we will not attend.
We’ll watch a Netflix series
Where we’re almost at the end.
We might hear firecrackers boom
When we are close to sleep.
I’ll think of Independence Day
And hope we’ll somehow keep
The promises the founding fathers
Set in ink back then,
But fear those words will not be honored,
In our lives, again.
Independence Day
in America, for all
except those oppressed:-
July in America in 2025, so exciting, to be in July, starting our month off with a bang.
Lots of bangs from fireworks, people have already started to celebrate.
Celebrate our country independence, our holiday that we cherish.
The red white and blue, we celebrate, and remember this month in history.
To our amazing patriots, that fought for our rights, we thank them today with remembrance.
To George Washington we give our thanks, for having such a force that led us to this point.
To our amazing country that we love so much, let’s give it a cheer for the memories we hold near and dear.
Never will we forget, our great leaders, that fought till the death.
We will hold our flag, high and proud, with love and thankfulness for all to see it shine.
Yes, we are glad, to have such an amazing country, that we celebrate this day of independence.
July we are so high, with all of the memories you carry in time.
Making more memories as we go into the future, with the Red, White, and Blue, flying high for all to see, we love you eternally.
Thanking God, for today and forever by our side.
We used to celebrate the fourth of July with our cousins.
Barbecuing food, and attending the parade up town on the square.
Sometimes we decorated our bikes with streamers and rode in the parade.
My cousin’s cousin was in the parade, as a queen once; that was nice.
Our families got along well, and my Daddy liked being with his brother.
We kids would go back up town in the afternoon to attend the carnival.
Sometimes our Daddies would be there too trying to win teddy bears.
But our mothers usually stayed home to do something else.
I have fond memories of dressing like my cousin on the 4th of July.
I always dressed like my identical twin, but dressing like Lou was special.
Her little brother Jerry and my little brother Richard were much younger.
Nice they had someone to sit with during the fireworks at nine p.m.
bang bang bang bang pow
night red, white, blue pom pom blooms
runaway dogs fear

The 4th of July celebrates the passage of Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776.
Have the congress and the USA forgotten about that? Have individuals forgotten about that? Well, I personally feel that we should all go back and review it again and again.
We MUST remember that Freedom comes from God, because wherever the Spirit of God is, there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17), and whoever the Son (Jesus) sets free is free indeed (John 8:36). But freedom is won with sacrifice. Sacrifice is a God-given value, and God's Word brings meaning and honor to the sacrifices of both His Son and our soldiers.
All of us have someone in the past doing wars has made sacrifices for our freedom today.
All parties in the USA MUST remember that we would not have freedom today if sacrifices has not been done yesterday for today which is 'The FutureNow'. What we do NOW will determine WHO and WHAT we will be TOMORROW, because 'The Future is Now'. That is the way I see it. Does this make sense to you?
It is the fourth of July
The sky is all lit up
With sparks across the sky
Freedom is what it's all about
A day to set aside
And have one big celebration
It's for our independence
That this country fought for
Every day there is a threat
From keeping our enemies away
From our doorstep
With hot dogs and hamburgers
Cooking away at the grill
Please stop for a moment and
Remember what this day is all about
Dusk
they flock
and see sparks
light up brilliant
colorful fireworks
in darkest dark ; red, white,
and blue as our star and strips
waves in the chill air arousing,
flickering a blaze of excitement,
patriotic American spirit.
explosions come in spurts
streaming screaming then POP!
war veterans who fought for us cringe
PTSD makes this a night of horror for them
4th of July fun for others
A 17 year old boy put a bunch of fireworks on his head.
The fuses were lit and when they exploded, he was dead.
His mother was angry and tried to have fireworks banned.
But there was something that his mother didn't understand.
The fireworks weren't the only things to blame.
The boy's ignorance got him killed and it was a shame.
Fireworks can be dangerous and what I'm about to tell you is no lie.
You'd better be careful when you use fireworks on this fourth of July.
(It is with great sadness when I say that this is a true poem)
Sadly, I have been forsaken;
Every shady bench is taken.
Sunny spots are up for grabs.
I sit down while keeping tabs
On nearby seats which are in shade,
With odds against me, I’m afraid.
Still, there is a little breeze
Provided by surrounding trees.
Boats upon the river glide;
I am glad to be outside.
Fireworks tonight I’ll see
Indoors, on screen, with cool a/c.
I can hear the screams of happy children a block away from the square
It is the fourth of July, the only day we have a carnival in our town
The tilt-a-whirl and the Ferris wheel are in their usual places.
How they manage to do this the same way every year is astounding.
Barkers are begging us to give up our dimes; I keep walking.
All of my money is going for rides, and cotton candy – hopefully pink.
It is crowded already; old people are sitting in lawn chairs watching.
Kids are running in and out of the crowd.
Blinking lights are everywhere.
There is such happiness here; my heart gives a bit of a jump.
People are smiling from every direction.
There are strollers and mommies.
We walk rapidly past them to get the next seat on the Ferris wheel.
It is always a magical day when the carnival comes – July 4th, every single year.
