Contest Description

IWhat to Submit?

1 Pleiades poem starting with the letter I

1 Word Title starting with an I. 7 lines of 6 syllables each,  that describe or show an example of the title. Each line must start with the letter I.

NO PERSONAL NAMES FOR TITLE - however this time I will allow a country, city or state to be used as long as it is one word and not hyphenated. NO hypenated words for titles.

Use howmanysyllables.com to check your syllable counts. I almost eliminated a couple of poems because I thought the count was off but then used this site to check syllables and to my surprise (and delight) I was wrong. So check your syllables.

No profanity or vulgar content.

I'm looking for smooth flowing lines to describe or show an example of the title.

Prizes:

1st - ? Glory!

There will be multiple placements.

On your mark, get set, GO! Give me an I!

Preparing Your Entry

Submit one copy of your poem online. Format your poem. Please make your entry easy to read — no illustrations or fancy fonts.

English Language

Poems should be in English. Poems translated from other languages are not eligible, unless you wrote both the original poem and the translation.
