Another Weekend Whirlwind - Tatyana Carney's Blog

It's hit and miss with me... I write in journal form for years religiously, and then go through a massive dry spell (which I am going through right now). So - this is a testing of toes in the water to see if I am up for introspection of this sort. The thing is, that I have always felt the best thing about this kind of writing, is that you can blurt out your emotion of the moment and then be utterly and completely done with it - perhaps never feeling the same way again. Cathartic release at it's best... So, with that being said - these are my thoughts of the moment. The house is quiet, my feet are cold (as usual) and I am thinking, still, about the color of the sky last night before an evening storm: absolutely, positively yellow at the back of the house and green in the front. The air itself was these colors. So, if I had stepped outside and breathed in right before the first drop of rain - what would I have been breathing? Sunflowers? Lemons? Limes? Pine-needles??? What is yellow and green enough to cast that hue and bring with it a feeling of impending something. Something good, something bad, something new? This is what has stuck with me subconsciously through my dreams (awoke having bit up both sides of my cheeks - dreamt I was watching TV and saw this race in England and thought to myself that I would be there the next day - also saw a girl taking photographs and realized she had the same camera that I used to have that I loved which has long since been broken), through my breakfast of organic mini wheats (who knew?), playing "The Land Before Time" board game with my daughter, and on and on until tonight where I again think strongly of it - Maybe this will get it out of my system and it won't plague me to be written about in detail. I need to organize my office ( what am I saying "office" - it's actually a 3x5 room...) sometime soon - there is a box with unanswered, untaken care of paperwork, documents, stuff stuff stuff that my practical side needs to handle - it's been piling since November 2005 (I'm so sorry to admit that)... This is my get to it someday soon room - and it shows. Maybe tomorrow I'll have the impetus now that I have put it in writing. Well - that's all for tonight - I'm tired, have a head cold and took non-drowsy sinus medicine at 12pm which is still running circles in my blood stream, threatening to steal every last drop of sleep from me tonight - when I need it so... Don't we all??? By the way - thank you to my daughter tonight - who stimulates my imagination. We are reading the full story of Peter Pan and Wendy and I am enthralled with Barrie's brain. I'm telling you, it takes me places so far outside of the box that I can't even see the box anymore. It was a gift to Ava from her Aunt and Uncle - but it might as well have been a gift to me - with the way I have soaked it up. This is really my last paragraph - maybe the dry spell for journal writing is done? Hope all you lovely poets out there get a good night sleep and dream the kind of dreams you write about (only the happy ones ofcourse)... ~T
