True beauty, indeed (to the number-theorists),
reveals the distribution of the primes.
Beauty, too, is courage, the defiant fists
of a defender that we praise in rhymes.

Beauty are oaths, that Prince Hector all times
keeps shielding city, child, and princess bride;
or King Priam's grace for thoughtless Paris's crimes,
rather than wrath for his treach'rous regnocide.

What beauty is not, is Euclid mortified,
if Riemann's Hypothesis's not in sight,
or the Zeta function's proof verified
(for the spread of primes) gives zero insight.

However, beauty is what frames your face:
which ev'n shames Helen of the Trojan race!

Never have I ever

There are so many things in life I can't do and it makes me sad. I will never know the Zeta function on the f line. I will never win a noble prize. I will never retain the entire dictionary in my vocabulary. I will never go to space. I will never be Bruce Lee. I will never change the past. I will never travel faster than the speed of light. I will never be Lenny Cravits. I will never control the weather. I will never slow time the first time I see a lover. I will never leave my own mind. I will never be you. I will never paint the Sistine chapel. I will never invent the lightbulb. I will never see gravity. I will never be a child again. I will never call the one I loved when I was young and thought it was love. I will never stop nuclear reactions. I will never be a super hero. I will never eat a dodo.

The curse of the lonewolf

Wandering through the plains
Lost in plain sight
Famed for loneness
Borne into misery
The abandoned zeta
Chastened by pain and sorrow.
The bane of the lonewolf ;his curse
Cursed to be alone
Wandering in his thoughts
Screaming out in his mind
Cursed to walk alone
All love lost.
Will the lonewolf escape his fate?
Will he bud and sprout?

Premium MemberThe Future Is Unknown

The future is unknown,
events therein unseen.
Void is the crystal ball,
whose eye promises all
the answers to enthrall.

The future is unknown~
even the best guesses
using all past data,
fall short, and they include
the alpha and zeta!

The future is unknown,
traveling toward us
with unstoppable speed;
days spin past like a storm,
and we, helpless, accede.

The future is unknown,
the choice is ours to make;
hide in a dark corner,
or embrace the journey
and not be a scorner.

Premium MemberFavourite Catherines

Certainly not Catherine the Great of Russia, she’s
too fierce although she’d surely have put Putin in his place.
While Catherine Deneuve fired my adolescent Id, she
and Catherine Zeta-Jones are way out of my league.
As a Canadian, I love Schitt’s Creek, but it isn’t Catherine O’Hara,
nor Catherine Bush, better known as Kate, whose songs we adore.
I know you’d choose Katherine Hepburn, not for her Oscars.
but because she was a” K” Katherine just like you, although
it’s your middle name and only I get to call you that.

Premium MemberNo Zyphyr Zeta

No zyphyr Zeta, she came with full force.
A Category 1 she was supposed to be.
She hit ashore at our colleague’s home,
the cusp of a rip-roaring Category 3.

Surviving the worst, family okay,
losing material things and power for hours.
Old oaks uprooted and lights a mess.
I wish speedy recovery within my powers.

To my friend and the others affected,
prayers with you especially at this time.
Your silence on PS respected
till we see your face and winning poems again.

Power Outage

Here I sit alone
Alone in the dark
No light anywhere
Not even a little spark

The lights went out
Halfway through the storm
Life tomorrow will be
Nothing like the norm.

Hurricane Zeta
Came through with a fury
To the shelter
We must go in a hurry

The winds were so strong
And blew with such might
Listening to the howling winds
All through the night

When morning came
Without the normal lights
Looking around you at
The aftermaths fright

Trees were blown down
And powerlines snapped
Moving along carefully
As not to get zapped

2 days so far we've gone
Without electricity
Who knows how long
It will continue to be.

The E T

Zena hailed from the Zeta Reticula star system and she
was bored with the military’s handling of her. Day after day of
interrogations and discussions for weapons or space travel.

barbed wire
she yawned wondering if it was
to keep her in or them

Miss Zeta Omegini

Miss Zeta Omegini on all fools’ day
Played with a pendulum and penned a play
                                     Pendulum went home
                                     And wrote a big tome
They got ignoble and rolled in the hay

A New Life

A
Baby is born, many
Cheers all around.
Daddy is smiling
Everyone is happy now.
For the dangers are over,
Got a lovely baby girl
Her name we don't know
I think it might be. Hope.
Just because theirs was running low.
Kisses are exchanged
Love will flow.
Mum is so tired,
Nearly a day in labour.
Oh so relieved now
Parents at last. From now on
Quality of life will grow.
Rest is now needed
So off home we all go.
Tomorrow is a new day
Until then we will sleep a
Very happy family that
Welcomed the baby girl.
X. Kisses goodbye
Years of happiness ahead with
Zeta - a new life

Seriously Sirius

She married a guy from Sirius?
Surely you cannot be serious
What could she know about Sirius?
A place light years away and mysterious

I mean marrying a guy from Sirius
Would hardly make one delirious
And never really a clever idea
You’d never call it ingenious

Marrying a dude from Sirius
I can but wonder why
When she could have had a guy like me
From Zeta Reticuli

Alpha Are You There

ALPHA! Are you there?
Take the DELTA, you're nearly there.

XI! Do you hear?
Sit in a RHO, you're very near.

SIGMA! Do you know where is BETA?
Don't know sir, he left with THETA.

TAU! OMEGA! Show me the GAMMA.
Sorry sir! Our notes are with mamma.

Why NU? What 'bout you MU?
See yourselves sir! We did a few.

PHI and SI! Tell me where is EPSILON?
We don't know sir where he might have gone.

IOTA and ZETA! You did good LAMBDA.
We did nothing, were helped by KAPPA.

ETA, CHI and PI! Where are your notebooks?
Left at home sir for none of us ever looks.
