I can't live without the oxygen I breathe
          I would die without this air in my lungs
I can't live without the water I need
          Oh for just one drop on my tongue
How did I make it this

Without you

The world is a bit colder
The street a bit emptier
Without your voice
Without your hand to hold.

Peace Without You

Today I learned
that being me
always here for you,
always yours in intimacy
was never enough.
I did not give you
the peace your soul was searching for.

It shatters my heart…
how did we come to this?
I learned today
you were looking for comfort
in someone else’s words,
and all this time
I thought I was your world.

in cold desert sand,
I walk without shadow,
the sun too tired to care.

Alone in the place I used to know,
walls whisper your name in cracks and corners,
but you never answer.
Silence moved in where your voice used to be.

The rooms are getting smaller,
the windows won’t open,
time has folded in on itself 
only

Where would I be without you?

my body and my heart are fragile brittle mostly broken
your visit and your kindness mean the world to me
you sing your song and the healing of my soul begins
~ rebuilding the bridge to hope

It's with something as heavy as death or light as silence 
Time going on leaving us behind ignoring our presence 
Unless you give your voice no one knows your alive
In a world where no one cares you'll be left deprived 
People will miss you but how would know if don't connect
Not connecting is like resting

I never let you wonder if I loved you but
here we go again 
Another man who takes my love as a weakness

On Waking Without You

I wake to walls.
No feet running, no kettle hissing.

Only the tap of a message not sent.

If I had written to you earlier,
perhaps the morning would feel less like an ending
and more like something possible.

Instead,
I scroll past lives I do not live.

And tell myself:
Next sunrise, maybe.

The Coffee I Sip Without You

In a city of fog and summerless light,
London hums softly, but nothing feels right.
Years have withered, your name still flows
Mithila, a whisper the morning wind knows.

We never danced in moonlit embrace,
Nor traced our fingers across time or space.
But the dots were sent… three soft ellipses…
Spoke louder than touches or lover’s kisses.

I heard you, without words,

blooming without you

I tried to move on
But strangely
I was stuck to my feelings
As you left me behind

I was never like that
Before you came along

Like the last withering leaf of winter
I desperately stayed on 
Hoping maybe I'd survive

I tried to get you out of my head
I tried to get you out of my heart
But there was no way out for me
I was in too deep from the start

And even when I tried to leave
The ghosts of us would hold me back

What It’s Like Without You

Knots in my stomach never untied
I feel them tighten more and more each time
tightness
in my chest inside and out  
tears
as they are swell up in my eyes waiting to be released

Trapped in a loop of trying to move on 
and trying to look back on the past
wondering how you would guide me through it
