two more times around the clocks,
one more time to tie my shoes and socks,
another day without you, in an infinite line,
to regret a new way the fault was mine

This poem is an attempt to describe
Marital connection. I hope to some
Extent success in so doing.
There is no me without you.
There is no you without me.
That's what holy matrimony
Is doing to and for us, because
For more than 54 years, we are
Two mortals becoming one.
I own your signature, and I feel
Your fingers around my soul like
A massage machine to comfort me,
And like a washing machine cleansing me.
Like two fists of 8 fingers tucked away
By 2 thumbs, I feel safe and protected.
Like everything else in space and time,
Our relationship was not made in a day,
Nor our maturity reached hastily.
Your signature, presence, touch, and your
Presentation of me is my seal of approval.
People have said that I appear best when
You are by my side. I believe it to be true.
I know that there truely is no me without you.
It is a reality signed, sealed, and delivered.
Some are full of sorrow.
Some are full of life.
Some are full of laughter.
Some are full of lies.
But me, I am so empty
Without you in my life.
The silence is deafening
And echoing my cries.
The loneliness is harrowing
Without you in my life.
Your lying here beside me,
My heart is in your hands
Thank God I am not empty
I know you understand.
I dreamt of life without you
I longed for life alone.
I reached out to embrace it,
And found it was so cold.
And me, I am so empty
Without you in my life.
The silence is deafening
And echoing my cries.
The loneliness is harrowing
Without you in my life.
Life without you
Is hell in heaven
Even when I have all I need
It's you I always want
For you're the
Remedy to my illness
You give me stillness
Living in fullness.
Life without you
Is doom
Is filled with terror
Just like a horror movie
Steady taunting
Making me broken
Living forsaken.
Life without you
Is like a phone
Without a sim card
Always disconnected
An empty vessel
Because you make me whole.
Darling love, my darling love
Can you see me from above
Doing things I used to do
On my own, without you
Going up and going down
Backwards, forwards and around
Going fast and going slow
Sitting in the afterglow
Thinking if you think of me
Like I do, waiting for thee
Playing solitaire and stuff
Wond’ring where’s my darling love.
Because someday when I have it all
Everything that I dreamed of
I will still think about you (and us?)
About everything that could have been
When I chose to walk away
From a future we could have made.
Sometimes our best decisions become our lifelong regrets
That one other way, the other outcome
We can only wonder in thoughts
About a world that could have been
Had we chosen to hold that hand
And instead of splitting apart
Remained a team.
And they will be filled with tears...
Is the follow up Johnny plays
After dedicating me my song,
It was number 1 this day in 1976
He told me as
I showed him iou Johnny,
Page 291
And told him about
Funny dummy dip
But,
It's too sad,
The tears on the first line
Reflect my own
As tina sang loudly
In this place of happy people
Who
Undoubtedly
Would not spot my tears,
Nor know the reason...
Music
's no good without you.
Some may argue,
"I don't see evil this day."
Those are the ones for which we must pray.
For the devil has clouded their thoughts of today;
for this, the devil gives them no say.
He simply strives to lead us astray,
broken promise of returning one day.
Nay, the past has left like a ship out to sea.
Returning is a future without you and me
For the ship was of good spirit and heart
It created tools to encourage our part.
A future given of nothing but play
promises life will soon end one day.
What of the new year without you
your love for me was ever true
what of your sweet and caring eyes
no longer here, no longer mine.
What of the tender grass in spring
for you won’t hear or see a thing
what of the roses in full bloom
for yours have wilted all too soon.
What of endless summer days
of happy times, of loving ways
that only a mother could impart
your love runs deep within my heart.
What of autumn colors blazing bright
without you here it’s black as night
what of my tears, my heart has died
no words can soothe the pain inside.
What of the winter and the rain
your kisses on my cheek remain
as you look down from heaven above
someday I’ll be with you again in love.
By the late evening, I forgot what you said,
Because we were so caught up in a moment
Of a heartfelt laugh to joke from your head.
I'll always reminisce how our time was spent.
By the morning, I awoken to half-empty bed.
Wishing you could be by my side every night.
But I know someday it will be you who I wed.
I know what awaits us is a future so bright.
By the afternoon, I am a poet always writing
Word after word, words of love for just you.
Please know it's here I'll always be waiting
With binder of poems filled with love so true.
By the night, sometimes though I feel alone,
I'm aware you're just a short train ride away.
I know I can message or call you on a phone.
All I wish is we attain the life for which I pray.
Without you
I love you so much, love
My life without you
Is only an empty carafe
I’ve been lost without you
That’s why I stick with you
With your enduring glory
Designed solo for me
Yes, and me without you, love
Would extinguish human kind
I’m just a dark grim statue
With you a super value
Well, with your eyes
The brightest superstar
In short,
I am a Thunderer
Erasing the remnants
Of the memory plague
On this planet
You have enchanted me
On the pyre of magic
You have bewitched me
I like you, I love you
I love to love you
From this day on,
I never want to be
Parted from you
My life's been fine without you -- really has.
A Belgian bar has opened in the square,
and weekends, we do beer and tapas there,
then Malcolm and Elaine's place, for some jazz
and Jamieson's. May in Cortes -- what a blast!
Right now, I'm growing sideburns! Summer hols,
we'll all dress up as bandits and their molls!
I've never laughed so much. Who needs the past?
Yet sometimes, when the lake frowns in the rain,
or April squalls tug blossoms from the trees,
I think of you. This sadness preordained,
like plane trees pollarded, proud amputees
shorn of their plumes, emerges, stark and strange:
and I know then. Some things will never change.
My forever missing puzzle piece,
A longing, forever desire...
Missing you always,
My heart just cannot enquire...
Lost amidst life,
Each day creeping past...
The years flying by,
Time passing far too fast...
You grow older,
As do I...
Cradling my broken heart,
All I do is cry...
It’s lonelier to grieve.
Because I knew you.
Because I loved you.
Because I still do.
And now I carry that love
Like a body that won’t stop breathing.
I cry for the life you didn’t live.
For the mornings you missed.
For the years I still imagine even though
I know better.
I cry because I saw you becoming
And then I saw you stop.
I drown in thought.
Not memory
That would mean you were here.
I drown in the future I built around you.
The one you never asked for
But I gave you anyway.
You were supposed to stay.
You were supposed to grow old.
I grieve the man you never got to be.
The one I still talk to in my head when I’m scared
Or tired
Or pretending I’m fine.
I grieve the version of me
Who would’ve loved you longer.
Who would’ve learned how to forgive you for leaving.
I hate the silence. It sounds like you.
I hate the quiet. It feels like you.
I hate the way I still wait for something
that isn’t coming.
You are gone.
But you are everywhere.
In the things I can’t say.
In the breath I hold.
In the way I keep living
Like it means something.
~~~
The world is a bit colder
The street a bit emptier
Without your voice
Without your hand to hold.
