Joe works the gas station,
they still do full serve,
tops you off with a big grin,
if you wait your turn.
Chats with all the tourists,
shows them where to go,
that’s why everyone in town
calls him Fill’er-up Joe.
Fill’er-up Joe,
whoa, whoa, whoa,
Fill’er-up Joe,
don’t go slow,
folks need gas,
don’t you know,
they’ll all come back
for another go.
Works the bar for night shifts,
only one in town,
there’s no head when he pours beer
the folks guzzle down.
Chats with all the ladies,
makes the liquor flow,
all his friends, when nighttime comes,
call him Fill’er-up Joe.
Fill’er-up Joe,
whoa, whoa, whoa,
Fill’er-up Joe,
don't go slow,
folks need booze,
don’t you know,
they all come back
for another go.
Sometimes those young ladies
take a shine to him,
the man’s not that bad looking,
they fall for his grin.
The man’s got no money,
but those girls still go,
the next day his buddies smirk,
“Did you fill’er-up Joe?”
Fill’er-up Joe,
oh, oh, OH!
Fill’er-up Joe,
please go slow,
girls need love,
don’t you know,
they all come back
for another go.
When she was young, she seldom thought of Death.
He’d have no claim to her for years to come.
Life was her ladder. As she reached each rung,
success and joy obscured the simple truth,
that Death someday would have his promised turn.
*************************
Her steps are very slow; her vision, dim.
Death’s whispers in her mind are loud today.
She doesn’t fear the end because she knows
her soul is covered by the blood of Christ.
A life well-lived ends with a pleasant smile.
Louder and louder - becoming inaudible
Neck
Neck
Stick it out long
Flash Flash
Images distilled, frozen and framed
Drinks flying
Clothes torn and lost
Crowds getting bigger
Wanting the floor and this spotlight
It's shining elsewhere
Just wait your turn
Drunk messages
Small puffs of smoke float in your peripherals
Hazy and it is blinding
Blinding all these senses
Common sense
Throw it to the wall
It's lost here
Along with your phone and your wallet
Your identity
You belong to the night now
You become the night now
You are the night now
This transforms you
Kittens love robots and robots love kittens.
Should we be concerned?
Is there something those two would like to tell us?
Besides, cowabungaaaaaaa, coming through, who wants to touch me?!
Here's a it sucks to be you smack for you, wait your turn. Here's a smack for you to enjoy while you look at me zoom on by on my Roomba. While my robot friend dances the rumba.
On a steel horse I ride....
As flowers fill with summer rain
Commuters board their rush hour train
Oblivious to all they see
They must get home in time for tea
Reflecting on their busy day
Decisions seldom go their way
The simple things that mean a lot
Just too busy – Now forgot
Magic times remain unseen
Now blinded by their dull routine
Tomorrows dreams stay in the past
Time flies by - the moments passed
It’s easy to be lead astray
But every dog will have his day
The thoughts inside – Just Cant let go
So don’t let on - no-one will know
All heading for another place
They hide behind a dead pan face
Afraid their plans have gone astray
They must survive another day
Don’t bother with a crystal ball
You have the power to recall
We each determine our own fate
So take control – Don’t sit and wait
Why stand in line and wait your turn
Just cut the ropes and watch them burn
Feelings that we all suppress
You never know – Perhaps they’ve guessed
The sands of time will ebb and flow
The tree that grows will always show
The promise of a future dawn
On platform nine you stand and yawn.
I cannot sleep
For I love to be awake
My mind wanders often
And this is no mistake
Told to think and speak less
But still I disagree
A thinking mind is active
More likely to become free
Yet always keep an open mind
Wait your turn and listen
As not to over step or fault
And lose the definition
Scan their words and take them in
And really pay attention
Words can mean so many things
So listen for intention
Learn to love and love to learn
And make life all your own
Learn to sail the raging sea
To conquer all unknown
Walking in Limbo
a man finds himself alone
in a dark forest
filled with strange trees
and hears voices
in the wind
he walks forward
towards a light
in the forest
and soon finds himself
confronted by a ghostly image
the dead are all around
and he realizes
that he has died
and he is wandering
in limbo
he walks towards the light
and sees a man
at a desk
who asks his name
he says his name
and the man
smiles and tells him
welcome to limbo
join the others
to wait your turn
for judgement is due
and the man
walks back
through the haunted forest
trying to remember how he died
but he has no memory
of his past life
and is doomed
to wander in limbo
stuck between time
and worlds
comforted by the ghosts
around him
and the light
in the forest
writers digest prompt to write an ekphrastic Poem
Carry Me A Way
threw a chosen beam
you both know what we mean
through any fields a pant from a deer
the faint fawn has encountered a well dress
each new day we take time to preay
throughout a painted leaf
sorrow among a certain relief
laced right in back of the furnace
having concerns throughout the blatant mast
lerad us right along the path
Crreraturers, feraturers & charms
looking both far from beyond
chief screram on it's beaten path
to bare each others firm
when will we ever learn
throughout it's fault of their own
better to wait your turn
another page has been turned
Little bunny try to grow up to fast
Wait your turn for its not your time
What you trying to prove will never be
For you are a bunny rabbit try to fit in in adulthood that is not yours to be.
I make your life easy for I can read your Truth
Stop try to fight and convince me for your not true
You attract all those that are wrong for you
When will you realize they just trying to use you for your attitude.
You was once a sweet bunny that got turned into
You no longer attached to me as a family as we should
Only if you knew the truth for I had told you more than enough
For they are not your family, but I am with pure blood
They worked your mind as they did to my father
Turned him evil to his own family now I see they got you too.
They never liked him but curse his name behind his back.
But yet they all will pay the price and will be done right.
Sweet little bunny don't grow up to fast
For you are not ready and it's not right.
I see you're Right
Her Path is Light
I can hardly wait to meet Her
Hurry, please ~ Take Me to your Leader
I've lived life all wrong
To nothing, to no one I belong
I really, really need Her
Please, please ~ Take Me to your Leader
I've turned to crime
Bathed in mud and slime
I'd do anything to see Her
So, please ~ Take Me to your Leader ...
...Not so fast. Please listen here
You'll wait your turn, darling dear
A thousand others want to meet Her
Crying: Hurry, please ~ Take Me to your Leader
Just like you, they're sinners too
Bungled life, through and through
So desperately do they need Her
Their voices begging ~ Take Me to your Leader
They've robbed and ransacked city and village
Murdered and kidnaped, even pillaged
They'll do anything just to see Her
Screaming ~ Take Me to your Leader ...
"...I guess I see," I managed, sore abashed
My hopes, my dreams, thoroughly dashed--
Plunged the blade in my heart so deep
~ No Leader my soul to mourn or weep
bust up the beat to promote its tempo
taking you to places you need to know
rap is the harmony to take away my anxiety
not since the old famed Redd Fox boy that homeboy do think a lot
boogy down to the socks
I sit as a rose without its thorn
some may curse the very day they were actually born
but you got to wait your turn
one soul soars while the other will burn
like the world watch it turn
Rap to the rhyme & rhyme for a reason
its like the changing of the seasons without any reason
in time the seed would grow into a healthy stalk
come with me let's go for a walk
the more you breath the less you talk
folks in the numbers under the satin covers with home made lovers
by choice we often wander friends growing fonder hair getting blonder
the message is getting bolder have to look over your shoulder society's getting colder
yes that seed would grow into fruition to late on your tuition start listening
when I'm alone in my room then i stare at the wall in the back of my mind I hear my conscience call
like a bird please light the flame walk the walk away from the criminally insane
why should I complain I'm making the green bling living in a land so very mean
OVERBEARING
When you walk up upon two people talking
And they shun you turn away start walking
Cold non endearing
Never ending so not caring
Overbearing
Wait your turn don't interrupt the corrupt
And those problems bag them up
Place those worries in a locked closet
Cold non endearing, never ending so not caring
Overbearing
Distrubuting the prviacy of others
Does it matter abundant covers
Don't be abrasin or impatient
This is a new revelation
Overbearing
It's not that your not important
Cold non endearing
Never ending so not caring
So just wait for your space
And when your late the groups already started
Don't be broken hearted
You enter in but all eyes on you
Don't resist in your hues or views
Place those worries in a locked closet
Cold non endearing, never ending so not caring
Overbearing

Wait your turn with me
can't you see
the thought of sullen brevity
look to the sea
for parts inside of me
spreading its disease
one in twain marked on
a blotted page intact
out living the dream
falling apart at the seams
with twisted evil means
come with me to a land in a dream
the open door by which to explore
walk with me through a passage of time
love is the meaning of our existence
shun the resistance amidst all circumstances
through each twist and turn
one soul soars another one burns
JUST ONE OF THE BOYS
You wait your turn,
just one of the boys.
Standing in line
to play with your toys.
Gnawing on bones
of fleeting pleasure.
Thrown by gods
that stole your treasure.
Evil men led you astray
captured your soul, carried it away.
Silent lips kissed the night.
Lusting eyes took your sight.
Is this who you really are?
Or what you’ve become?
Selling your birthright
for a few measly crumbs.
Refusing to take a stand
that measures your worth.
You’ve join faceless others
as your fears gave birth.
When will you stop
following the crowd?
When will your voice
be heard out loud?
But it’s not within
to do what’s right.
You embrace the darkness
and ignore the light.
On an ordinary day
you draw that last breath.
Coldness circles,
you see your own death.
You see what you’ve worshiped,
surrounded only by your toys.
You finally realize
you were just one of the boys.
(fact)
Like a child, desperate for attention
You scream and yell
No one can't hear you
Like a child desperate for attention
You stump your feet
And she'd you tears
No one still can't hear you
Like a child desperate for attention
You run around in circles to see if they see
But told to go sit down and wait your turn for affection
Like a child desperate for attention
You created chaos to see if they noticed
You get a time out for the damages you caused.
Was it worth it?
Like a child desperate for attention
Your doings is unnecessary for you just making things worse.
