Premium MemberNeon God

I do not want a neon God
Orange bright
Flourescent pink, glowing light
For all to see
In darkest night

I'd rather have
The subtle charm
With strength to hold in every arm
Or patient hope
And solid calm

I do not need
The flashy stuff on garish stage
With visuals on every page
As life rotates
Through human age

The wisdom now
To soulful dreams
Is silence

Premium MemberLas Vegas here we are

astronomical odds they may be
cross your fingers for good luck
get into the groove, into the rhythm
spin hoping for a winfall or free games
spin to hear those bells go crazy
spin for a major hit to cash out

that jackpot has your name on it
somebody's got to win
it might as well be you
adrenalin pumping
get those lights flashing
let crowds

Premium MemberIs poetry soup on vacation in Vegas

Today was a very odd day
every comment on my poems
were at least 3 and a half hours
away I only posted a few today
just to see where we were all
going as if poetry soup took all
of us on a wild vacation seated
under a giant umbrella on the
beaches of

The Poet Of Las Vegas Boulevard

The Poet of Las Vegas Boulevard,
steals emotion from the night

Holding a vigil in the darkness,
waiting for the light

The Poet of Las Vegas Boulevard,
among the screams and homeless cries

Making rhyme of what reason has abandoned
—marking time inside the shadow of lies

Premium MemberVegas Nights

Vegas nights and neon lights
A desert playground of sin
Enraptured then you're captured
The moment you walk in

The ambience intoxicates
The chance of fortune looms
Once you call you risk it all
In crowded smoke-filled rooms

Got a bucket full of coins
You think it's now or never
For a buck you try your luck
And pull another lever

Come on seven eleven
Shooting craps you'll

Letting It All Hang Out

Below the gray blah canopy
Suffering from bad attitude
and seasonal psychosis
The human race sprints
No finish line required
and Everyone wins gold
Music blaring
Bikini tops daring
Exposed guts not caring
Rooftop gogo dancer staring
At me
Ok, maybe that's vice versa
Its a poolside, post-graduate MTV Spring Break
Some of us much more "post" than others
The glaze and haze of Vegas
Sprawling in the manner built

Las Vegas 1967
Harrah’s, free drinks
Circus Circus, bring the kids
Frontier, win a Chevy

Golden Nugget, best slots
Flamingo Capri, Elvis impersonator
Caesar’s Palace, world’s best buffet

Tropicana, win big
Sahara, all day breakfast
Dunes, best shrimp cocktail thirty cents
Golden Nugget, live girls
I would certainly hope so.

My Last Las Vegas C.E.S. (1)
(A Memorial Poem)
I long counted Steve Bristow a friend (1) and we'd fly off to lunch
some days (Steve would get 'hours in' he needed for license - small planes).
It was fun to go with him (a 'lunch' more than three hours)! We'd drive
to the plane (all maintained by a club

Vegas Underground

Distinction
without difference

Where shadows
defame

Laughter
without smiles

Embodied
in shame

Each story
redundant

Whose print
stays uninked

As eyes
search for mercy

That last
—missing link

Premium MemberI Should Have Picked Berries In Las Vegas

I went off to Las Vegas for some berry
On to some fun times ... not to get bury
Perhaps wide eye a show, and sight see
Not end up at the bottom of the blue sea
The voice of the red devil said, why not
And like every sap, I was tied into a knot
All it took were

My Poems New Jerusalem Las Vegas

My Poems

Are but only and unto me

An inner source of both shuttling
and chastening my day dreams

My very own fantastical imagination
galaxy and far off universe

Inside my head rallying me to discover
what may well just reside beyond the
setting stellar sun or dark side of the moon

Because I would far rather be alone and
searching for

Premium MemberThe Moon Is Shocked By Las Vegas

You should take a peek the night winds told the moon.
He was hesitant at first, they are such gossips who swoon.
They are not lying, the evening stars hissed into his ear.
This city is up all night, slumber is not revered or dear.

The moon took a tiny peek from the top of a road.
He was shocked

This Little Dime

This little dime
I want at any cost
I live in a luxury Vegas penthouse
This little dime
I roll down my sleeve
Hidden under my tux like a cream
This little dime
I have lost my mind
I am willing to go blind
For it and die
This little dime
I don’t need it anymore
Because I don’t have eyes to
