Uruguay and I'm a Gwirl

Uruguay and I’m a Gwirl

I want you to love me, I want you to care.
I want you to promise you’ll always be there.
I’m a man willing to fight for love.
Battlefield is strewn with former hugs.
I’m the one whose name is on all your puns.
Biggest joke in town for sure.

I’m the boy, the Peter Pan head on.
Never grew to like attempts at fun.
I’m the soul never united, moon and sun.
Feel myself coming undone.

I never claimed to be your saving grace.
I never claimed that I mattered.
I never said I’d put a smile on your face.
I’m merely mortal wrapped in matter.

No energy to fight for peace.
No more silent protests at your door.
Nothing left in me worth fighting for.
Never had a choice of either, or.

I sold myself to any heart that lied.
Every one hurts every time.
I sold my soul just to be by your side.
You only ever made me die.

Premium Member They Fly Back In March

Seagulls from Ontario, Canada migrate to Brazil and Uruguay
They want to survive the winter, in a warm, comfy way.
European gulls migrate to Africa or the Middle East.
Enjoying litterbug’s garbage, a glorious feast.

Seagulls head home, when they feel spring is on her way.
I passed ten of them flying north, just the other day.
United States gulls who migrated to Argentina,
Fly back there in March, without a subpoena

Hi
My name is Tai
I am a guy
And work as an spy
For Uruguay

This is Mai
A samurai
She makes me cry
All because I identify
As an butterfly

Premium Member My Bucket List

I shall not travel up to Alaska, I think,
Where it’s mighty bleak, uninviting, and cold
Nor to South Dakota just to see Mount Rushmore
Where there is no longer any gold, so I am told.
The rest of the fifty I have already seen
So I’m venturing beyond our oceanic shore
To some unfamiliar places in far distant lands
Exotic sites calling to me as never before.
At my age, my bucket list is nearly complete
With two unique locations remaining to visit
Lovely temples and peaceful pastoral scenes
Thailand and Uruguay – not too much to ask, is it?

Premium Member France Took the Crown

France beat Argentina four to three
In that game Mbappe was the key
Then they defeated Uruguay two goals to nil
As Uruguay's goalie let one spill

In the semis it was Belgium they faced
France headed one in with victory's embrace
They were in the finals, but who would they play
Would England beat Croatia and win the day?

As it turned out, the three lions couldn't roar
They were coming home with no trophy in store
So the final was set, Croatia and France
Two great teams would get their chance

In the finals France took a free kick
But when the Croatian defender did a head flick
The ball ended up in his own goal!
It seemed France would be on a roll

Croatia responded with a brilliant strike
It traveled so fast, it was rocket-like
But France added 3 more to the score
And they lifted the trophy once more!

Premium Member A Lady With Several Passports-N

I met a woman from Charlotte, North Carolina
After attending a literary conference in Uruguay
She claimed that she had passports muchas
Born to a British mother now live in Uruguay
Married to man of State Department Americana.

Changing the aircraft at Buenos Aries Airport
She talking, I listening, standing in a queue.
For the check-in I handed over my passport
The inspector inquired of me, looking into
Is she with you, sir? Where is her passport?

I simply looked at him with casual attention
Till day I don’t know which passport she used
Now that we were at the boarding gate in a line
As to why the inspector wanted hers she asked
I replied her because I have Passport Indian.

Wished to offer one more passport, couldn’t tune
But if ever she, by chance, in Charlotte she meets
As I have now settled down in her home town
And our ships destined to have favorable winds,
What I couldn’t say, have a mind to say it soon.
