True peace

true peace isn't merely
the absence of problems
that are a normal part of life
it's the ability to navigate & coexist
with them as well as the challenges,
the chaos & the strife
it involves embracing the reality
that difficulties come
as natural as breathing
but it's how you respond to them
with a resilience & a grace proceeding.
instead of seeking to eliminate all sources
of agitation discomfort & stress
you must develop a mindset encompassing
inner tranquility, quietude & sereneness
it's about finding your oasis of true peace
in the desert of pandemonium & commotion
to stay calm, collected, blessed & unstressed
& not react on just emotions

Premium MemberFacing the Red Sea

As a child, this reoccurring dream haunted.
When I would run from a monster chasing me
Then he'd reach out to grab, I'd fly undaunted.
As time went by, from those dreams seemed free.
Now knowing it was death, I face the red sea

Of course, as you can tell. I have no idea about stressed and unstressed syllables. LOL

Premium MemberIts Sunday

Sunday’s an auspicious day to suggest
that you, as a student, take a recess
In order to try and decompress
from our studying and stress

Now, of course, if you’re so possessed,
or some might even say obsessed,
you could study for a test,
we all want to do our best
but some work habits can oppress
and leave one all depressed

Just take a needed rest
and if your needs are unaddressed
get caressed when you’re undressed
some would have that thought suppressed
or simply left it unexpressed
but under oath I would attest
and to a priest I have confessed
all my roommates acquiesced
that for relaxation it’s the best
and quickest way to get unstressed

there a hundred things I could suggest
you type “A”s tend to make everything a contest
in this, there are no professors for you to impress
this isn’t a competitive, academic trap, trick or jest
I just know that, on Monday, this girl will be refreshed

Premium MemberCadence

"Most poetry and music share some feats-
as cadence brightens words and notes with beats."
                        by_ Poet

Most music has a cadence all its own;

through it, we feel a steady rhythmic flow.

When beats are spaced to accent every tone,

the instruments present a measured show

heard and enjoyed- delivered fast or slow.

Likewise, a poem plays a silent song

by cadence formed with words that flow along.

As syllables, unstressed or stressed evoke

a thought or image- tenuous or strong-

the beats of rhythmic poetry invoke.

Beloved

Oh my beloved
unlock yourself from my mind
and appear before my eyes
whenever I think about you
so that I can see you
when I long to be near you

When my mind's stream of yearnings
starts pouring out like a waterfall
and flows as a river of romantic verses
that I write only for you
oh! how much I wish
that those words of love
that my muse sprinkles in a blank paper
gather themselves on their own
to sketch an alphabetic portrait of you
so that I could keep gazing
at your charming face

When fate, like a monster, separates us

All I wish is...

To just be the last word
of your most inspiring verse
that you already have in your mind
and yet to write in pen and paper

To just be an unstressed syllable
of your name
whenever and wherever
your name is called out loud
to honour you

To just be the faint flickering light
at the end of the dark tunnel
of your dull dreary days

Premium MemberRecite Me a Poem In An Unknown Patois

I love; I really love your voice and your diction
Recite me a poem in an unknown language
I don't give a darn about the pronunciation
Undress the words; I love them when they're naked.

Take your time; be loud, louder, harder, and then softer
Do not stop when you arrive at the top of the valleys
Increase the volume, drive me crazy and make gestures
I love the tone but I don't understand the vocabular.

Recite the poem in a language that I do not know
Bring controversial words into my brain, in my core
Force me to inhale the rhythm to the point of dying
I'm inebriated. The sly lyrics are tattooed on my skin.

It's okay to charm me, and to caress me with the words
Again and again. Read proficiently like a veteran actress
I'm heading to bed right now, to lay on my back unstressed
So I can dream like a genius in agony on the old docks.

The Exodus From Life Into Death

Give me wine, give me poetry
and a hug to shake off these blues;
give me the sunniest and bluest sky:
give me glimpses of an unstressed tomorrow...
without masked faces that cry behind them!
Breathing freely means absolute freedom,
but the loss of it imposes a new norm;
what can distract people from forgetting death,
and stare at the solemn preacher who must harrow
dying souls for their destination of fire or bliss?
What can cheer up folks and make them laugh?

I'm preparing for my departure, lest fate is gracious:
let the laborious life I lived be an example of boldness,
I've held onto my beliefs, I carried no animosity or envy:
all I had was from God, not from the hands of charity!

Give me earthly delights, give me soothing music,
my assigned time could be nearer than I expect:
I have no throne, no crown, no riches in my treasured chest;
I'll leave as naked as I came...humbleness has never left:
how calm must be the exodus from life into death...
without groans, without moans; and with an exemption from debt!
I'll render this transaction to the Almighty with easiness...
no resistance to prevent what He desires: His wish is too intrinsic!

Helplessness

Today his birthday;
expected to
be too glad, they'd say
lived tough time through.

But, why he looks sad?
What's the reason?
Ah! boys made him mad
as they're teasing?

The thought he can't act
as others do
makes him sad, it's fact;
they also knew.

He feels helplessness
needs benevolence.

Bound For Wales

He'd set off in the middle of the night
in order to escape the traffic peak
whilst we three children with sweet dreams were blessed.

Dear Dad drove through the darkness into light
but when his muscles ached and eyes were weak
he'd rest,

take light refreshment then press on to Wales.
Revived, no longer needing to count sheep,
excitedly we'd talk about the week

we'd spend at Nana's cottage in the dales-

Unstressed.
