Image result for pictures of a child having a bad dream

As a child, this reoccurring dream haunted. When I would run from a monster chasing me Then he'd reach out to grab, I'd fly undaunted. As time went by, from those dreams seemed free. Now knowing it was death, I face the red sea
Of course, as you can tell. I have no idea about stressed and unstressed syllables. LOL

Hello Sara, Red Sea is the most wonderful sea in my view and many other people too- its colors, its fishes. But, its beach is not smooth.

Abdullah, I have not been to a country where I could view the red sea, but I am giving reference to a passage from the Bible where Moses parted the Red Sea and saved the Hebrew nation from being killed by the Egyptians who had been holding them as slaves. The feeling that death(the Egyptians) was chasing me and needing God to perform a miracle for me like He did for Moses. Trapped so to speak. Thanks for the visit and nice review of my work. I will have to look up pictures of the Red Sea. Sara

Oh, this is such a poignant and gloomy write, somehow pulls the heartstrings. I must say that you've done a phenomenal work for the Iambic pentameter and it's quite intriguing to read for me as o haven't tried writing one yet.. "Now knowing it was death, I face the red sea" The nightmares that repeat themselves in cycles, suffocating our peace and teasing our innocent hearts until we realise that we face the red sea of a fatal silhouette.. Creatively done, thought-provoking definitely!

Hiya, I don't really do meter. I just tried but I am sure it is not correct. We all face death in our lives. Some of us are given a chance to make things right with anyone we may have hurt. Thanks for dropping by and taking time to comment. Your visits encourage. Sara

Cool poem Sara. I often wonder why we fill vulnerable minds with tales of monsters and horror. I guess some consider it to be a rite of passage

Tom, Well, when I was young, there wasn't very much TV so I did not get exposed to scary movies, etc. from that. My father would tale a story occasionally about something that was somewhat scary; so I don't have any idea why I would dream that dream on a very regular basis. Your visits opens doors for thought. Thanks for the visit. Sara
