I was certain.
I was sure.
I knew what I knew—
until I didn’t.
A thread pulled,
a question I never meant to ask,
a whisper splitting at the seams.
The more I learn,
the less I know.
The less I know,
the more I understand.
I trace the edges of truth,
only to find them fraying.
I tighten the knot.
I loosen the knot.
I untangle it. I make it worse.
I follow the thread back to the beginning—
but the beginning isn’t there.
The fibers unravel between my fingers,
silk turning to dust,
logic thinning like stretched cloth.
I tell myself it makes sense.
I tell myself it doesn’t.
Both things are true.
Neither is.
I pull again.
The thread coils, writhes, tightens around my wrists—
or maybe those aren’t my wrists.
If I keep pulling,
will anything be left of me at all?
Choke me, like the words
I've wanted to say out loud.
Dig your nails into my flesh
Like the pain that has been inflicted on me.
Let your claws leave scars on my chest,
And your fangs on my neck
As the proof of my suffering.
Rip the skin off of my body
And look at how deep these scars run.
Strip me naked;
And show the world the damage it has done.
We place a lot of pressure squarely on our shoulders
Raising the bar on repeat feels like carrying boulders
Stakes set stubbornly high but can lower to find a clue
By broadening out our view to see the strain is undue
Realize the rigor we apply isn't required in every situation
Unwinding tension that was a figment of our imagination
Ways Which We Will Unravel
Are some ways which we will unravel;
When in House hit head with a gavel;
Slander;
Gerrymander;
Then leave and on a long trip travel.

Enough Tough Stuff That Is Rough
Each one of us did have enough,
Things that became tough stuff;
Hesitated,
Then devastated;
A poor golf game ending in rough.
Jim Horn
unpick the stitches
unravel the elements
unfasten rewind
Be brave and bold
When world turns cold
Live that fond flair
As pain grips air
Dare to be still
In unsure feel
See how you see
What yet may be
Turn to the light
To sense wise sight
Look deeper now
To soul's endow
Sense in strange change
A vibrant range
Do all you can
To understand
The way looks strange
In painful change
Look to your core
For grace galore
All that will come
Frames precious sums
Do not despair
Dare to style flair
Each moment brings
A welcome spring
Joy halts fear's pain
Dare to live plain
In just a while
A rainbow styles
Seize faith and hope
For love sculpts scope
See this the truth
In lovely proof
Just let things be
Allow and see

An unarmed soldier seeks justice
where the wolves prowl awaiting their prey
armed with faith silver shining chalice glowing light
Striking blows the deceiving fool flash reveals
Behind one mask lies a corrupt soul
I see the real picture frowns
But in front of the true judge Almighty
Our Creator
he will then face his accused head on
Only then dawning of his final chapter
destiny in a blink of an eye showdown begins
when a strike of someones tongue hurts
A bully of violence casting poison each false word
condemns the innocence hope always remains
when you see the truth clearly a chariot of fire
Stands out a million miles away
sometimes people are quick to judge the fact hides
in the unknown answer remains even in dust of our being
unrhymed tercet
The doors of time open
Swallow perspective down a light tunnel
We reach with full breasted might
To shadow what came before
Riding the backs of endless generations
Their hands woven in the soil
Featureless faces lifting atom clocks
Above the heads where centuries wash
I am dull plated, unresisting
I only exist where leaves breathe
Where crested waves lap their rhythms
And sunlight spins the groaning wind
Creatures have fallen to the lashing sword
Veins splash across petrified wood
The toil of metal cringes through paper
Minds are planted like seeds in the sky
Tears stream like water, rain in the night
A heart that still hungers for all to be right
Stoned by a circle, mocked while on stage
Emotions grow heavy from pain into rage
Scabs that were healing I picked them apart
All to uncover, I had to restart.
Purity, The essence of the soul
Security, Only in your arms
For the ship is overtaken by rough waves
I know that You’re the one who saves
Hear me while I sit
In the dark.
Carelessness, comes from movie clips inside my mind
Walls built to last start to unwind
And I can’t take the ache within the knots
It’s as if all I’ve learned I just forgot
For the flames of bitter yesterdays just ignite
Restless with this walk, I lose my sight
Purity, the essence of the soul,
Security, only in your arms,
For this ship is overtaken by rough waves
I know that You're the One who saves
Hear me while I sit
In the dark.
But, I’m not alone
No, I’m not alone
I'm Going to the other side
I must resist this fear,
And
Come alive!

Song written for the piano
We all can make mistakes
When we don’t know what to do
Then we need to hit the brakes
Before we drive right through
Don’t feel bad you’ve blundered
I have even smashed a cup
I have yelled so loud I have thundered
But there’s still time to fix things up
If I could take back things I have said
Just to shred them all like paper
And remove them from my head
Then I could then feel much safer
To fix all the things that I have done
I’d have to travel back in time
And unravel webs I have spun
It would make me feel sublime
Some things from in my past
Are ready to be closed
I will remove the cast
And all wounds will be exposed
The healing set to start
And pains will go away
I have never been to smart
But I always made my way
Ghosts and spirits
Unravel this
Purple wind
Unleash your grin
The graves
Borrow deep, again,
Through the
Voices of dead men
A delicious little snack
Lick your ready lips
Wrap crackles to unravel
A sweet little treat
Palm-sized enjoyment
Dream come true
YUM!
Unravel led
I am resolved
to solve
the mystery
that is you.
Each breath
you take
I calculate
and compute.
I will decipher,
clarify and unfold
each piece of the puzzle
that you hold.
You are the cipher
for me to disclose.
I will no longer analyze.
You heart I unroll.
