when all is said and done, by the trek not the prize

Inclusion
births Integrity,

As contentious Equality
bows to common Equity,

As Acceptance
longs, yet, for Appreciation,

As Sympathy
hopes for Empathy,

As being Me-Autonomous
moves toward becoming 
profoundly We-Democratic,

As multicultural Awareness
embraces warm Inclusion
births Integrity

Unmasked

Unmasked,

her smile summons
 
hope held hostage by fear.

It feels good to feel free again,

assign yesterday's woes to memory
 
and once more, indulge in a hug

received in a world where
 
everyone's smile's

unmasked.

Cops Unmasked

There are policemen in the subways
Who refuse to wear their masks.
Ironic, since enforcement 
Of that rule’s among their tasks.

When a patron on the platform
Asked some cops if they’d obey,
They at first pretended that because
His mask was in the way…

They couldn’t hear him but, of course,
Somebody filmed the scene,
So everyone could see the cop
Was simply being

The mask was torn from his face.
It lay broken, cracked, discarded.
The flawed illusion,
the imperfect facade of worth and value,
revealed at last for all to see.
Behold! A bare-faced liar.

Smashing Thrill
Indomitable Will
Unquenching Desires
To Conquer the World he Conspires

Spiked fuzzy tennis ball
From where did you crawl?
Who told you to call?
Your presence brought brawl
Nothing could stop

Mask Unmasked

She opened the door and tiptoed in,
golden luscious hair, tossed to spin,
her legs were naked,longer on heels,
Here she was with my evening meals!
Blue eyes smiling behind black lashes,
Mask on face and shoe without laces!
She adjusted bed to serve me food,
For man of romance, so far so good!
She poured me water, from a bottle,
My heart was

I see beyond today,
come closer..
hear what I say;
I see beyond your mask,
trust me..
it's all I ever ask;
I see beyond your pain,
be healed..
And live again;
I see beyond your cry, 
hold my hand..
I'll dry your eye;
I see beyond it all,
turn to me...
And walk tall.

Running early at heavens gate
The late, at hells gate, wait
First blood and young too
Under forty but already blue

This virus stalks us all
Shades of the 1920 fall
Community spread fears, a reality true
Unmasked, they sing and shout, without a clue

The experts know enough, not
The politicians cover up the rot
The people are hungry for work from home, away
So

Heaven Unmasked

I walk the streets of heaven
all alone
blinded by the alabaster
GOLD
searching for the God
of endless names.
The streets are empty
under quarantine
the clouds all closed
no angels in the fluff.
While hell is flaming still
in merriment.
I wonder - was I chosen
or just sent?
There are no children here
they took a pass
refusing to accept
salvation's splash.
All the flags are white
no rainbows here
wherever GOD
