Once upon a time it was you who was meant to be mine,
But I know better now how we were unusually unkind
To each other, even when we were on each other's minds.

Premium MemberTIME TO SAY I’M SORRY

Do you feel you must really say sorry,
Or are you flippant, don’t give it much worry,
Do you feel out of obligation you must
Say sorry, believe me, that’s not very brainy,
Does your heart want to break if you don’t,
Or do you simply think, why should I, I won’t,
Have you been taught as a child to regret
Do

Unkind but True

Afosa Adagio
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He described her as mean
someone caring she demanded more
than she gave
someone that is only
politely spoken of in a gesturing
of description. The first AACT spoke of
her speaking to her lover who only spoken Italian.
Moments later she is said
to be speaking to her lover
in Portuguese..
We learn later both are separate entities neither
wise to the other.

A LAMENTATION FOR THE FALLEN PEDESTAL

In days of yore, when wisdom's mantle shone
Teachers were revered, their honor like a throne
Despite meager pay, they earned respect and fame
As bookcraft wise men, guiding learners through life's maze and flame

Parents held them dear, as pointers of truth and light
Learners treated them with care, in morning's golden light
Teachers respected themselves, as models of virtue

Premium MemberGeneralizing People is Ignorant and Unkind

Inez is haughty and stuck up said they
I did not care, decided to meet her and stay
Having heard their strange ideas before
They stereotyped people forevermore

All Africans are this, all Irish are that
All redheads cook with used lard from a vat
All older women eat bland unseasoned food
Their generalizations are simply ignorant and rude

I met Inez who

And That's A Bit Too Unkind

How can you ever think
that my attraction is
an appropriate wink...
that's a bit too unkind
to reject me, stay behind
and throw an arrow
to wound me pitilessly:
it's not the first time or last!
What you hide and won't show:
is your mindlessness and vanity:
compassion cannot be put to rest!

And that's a bit too unkind
to recognize your unfairness
and disregard who

Premium MemberCupid Unkind

Love,
The emotion
From eternity to eternity
Touches humans
Giving serenity,
The ones in love
Forever fortuitous
To be singing
Life's glorious song,
A dance of
Tango
Between two
Sublime souls
Lost in the throes
Of immortal love;
Those upon whom
Cupid
Is unkind
And failed to strike
With his magical
Arrow
Must remain
Sentenced
To a life of
Degenerate
Solitude,
A life of
Unfulfilled dreams,
And missed bliss;
Deep in the ocean
Of emotion,
Lies their sunken ship
Of love
Perched precariously
On a submerged
Precipice under
The

Poverty Unkind

In a World brimming with wealth and grandeur,Where opulence dazzles on every corner,A tale unfolds of disparity and strife,
Where poverty thrives, tormenting countless lives.
Inflation, a cruel tempest, engulfs the land,
Whispers of hunger and despair, hand in hand,
While riches multiply, soaring high and free,
The less fortunate struggle, longing to break free. How can this nation, adorned in

Premium MemberDingo Lingo

There once was a man named Keith with perfect lingo
‘Till an unassuming stranger changed his name to Dingo
It blew my mind
It’s so unkind
To fabricate, that he’s an ape, with me she scores no bingo!

I followed the poet thought I was on her team

Premium MemberWinter Unkind

And the Winter wind moaned and cried.
Showing it's dominance over all.
When, out on the deck, I spied
the first snowflake, ever so small.
As Winter now pushes aside the Fall.

The first snowfall of Winter's a beauteous sight.
Softly falling out of the sky.
Leaving the ground a blanket of white.
A most pleasing sight to the eye,
eliciting many a sigh.

Winter,

Somber Pitch

Of scapegoats
Who in cold walk without coats
For they have been neglected
And left unprotected

Of human race
Whose freedom is less
And whose efforts;
Meanwhile labelled ‘faults’;
Are nothing, but the burden
That which they do not deserve

Of mankind
Who for nothing labor for the unkind
And toil to no avail for a free mind
While their speech
Is and forever a somber

Betrayal

“Betrayal”
Doesn’t half
describe it

You didn’t have to
Go
and hide it

But you did it
Anyway

You
sure
have
A lot to say

But I
Hide
My words
away

Because expressing
How
I feel
To you
Would only
get
In
my
way

I tell you
I don’t
know
How I feel
Because this is all
Way too
real

You act like
it’s not
A big deal
That you are now
My best

Words So Unkind

What floated through your mind
Were the words there so unkind
Did they batter down the doors
While you stood and asked for more

You think you don’t need to know
What they think and deem to show
For the world can be just like that
Not made to sit and just to chat.

Recognize

Could it be that you don’t see me? In all my beauty you dismissed me. I know I’m flawed and yes, your right, yep you Ooops I missed a step, but how could it be you didn’t recognize me. Unheard, unseen in all I had to give, true beauty from within you
