learned to quit a lot
Got a D- in a Shakespeare class 1971
blamed it on the professor
Retook the same course
almost got an F from his successor…
They say the best teacher is Experience

Making sure

How can a Lawyer defend
The undefendable?
How many times can you bend the truth
When is the truth unbendable?
How can a Lawyer look the Judge in the eye?
And blatantly lie,
It is not commendable.
It is difficult for the truth to understand,
Why?
Is the Lawyer guilty too?
Stating that the truth is another lie
It makes one wonder about the law,
What were the rules made for,
Not to be broken, that's for sure.
When did the truth become a lie?
In court the other day.
A lawyer said this could be so
As he brushed the truth away.
I did say, "Lawyer."
Although I found it inconceivable
When a respected man of the law
States lies, and the truth is the same,
Unbelievable.

Bali trip invitation, having kissed her not yet
Gilded page fable hero, finally sigh spontaneous
Erased past innocent repels inquiry intuitive
Revealing her dabbling would be dire dangerous
Vague oil picture layers bright lies lucrative
August move in floor thirty in tower beside marina
Vista thirty miles of hills, boat smooth ocean
Fairytale ticket to board, beau's open demeanour

Who is she? We asked each other, not understanding
Could she be a statue or was she real?
Was she a mythical goddess or a witch?
A good witch or a bad witch?
If she could have spoken
She would have told us
She was Midas’ mistress
None of us would have believed it
But it was the truth
Just one more example of unbelievable truth
Unbelievable rancor!
Crazed jumping monkeys
were directing hard xylocarps
at several frightened zoo patrons!!
Outgoing battle lovers
vehemently yelled nonsense
inciting giddy kids
to quickly exit!!!

“the truth is known, wise words have been spoken
let fears and desires, be now forsaken”

Recognising stress and despair within,
ego mind blaming the powers that be,
perchance met a sage tranquil and sanguine,
pointing out the way, that he may be free,
choosing joy in place of anxious ennui.
The counsel offered was straight and simple:
stop the flow of spiralling thoughts nimble;
simply enter, the void of cessation,
embracing in our heart, love spherical,
renewing the rapture of bliss ignition.
