The Disease Poems | Examples

The disease of the withered soul

It's three in the morning - the grave silence breaks my soul,
the glass on the coffee table is empty,
obliviously I water my soul, it will bloom too.

Some birds are chirping in my chest - they sound like cuckoos.
Old stories bequeath the saying that when they cry,
they shed tears that heal all diseases.

Premium MemberThe disease called shy

You have my voice that sings
My eye’s that love to see
My heart beating when it believes
My hand writing poetry of what should be
My steps walking boldly thinking of thee

My minds consumption of
vast amounts of time
My work that tries providing
Any attention that I can find

A victim of love
Happily and sadly am I
I am like Samson
Believing every lie
Being like Romeo
I’d surely die

What a substance is love
As reachable as the sky
With fears and rejection
That might cause my demise

My childish suffering
This disease called shy
Yet monotheistic my soul
Itself cries
Day after day this feeling
Will not die
Only one half of what
God says am I

Could you go with us,
My God and I
Could you put your hand under my thigh
Let me promise before I die
The climb of the mountian
That reaches your sky

The Disease That Laughs

The Disease That Laughs

The disease that laughs never cries. He thrives on destruction and has no discrimination in his eyes. He will draw you in through pleasure and lies as he ties and binds your soul to addiction. Your life is now a miserable mess as you wonder when you will get high next. See the disease laugh he has no sympathy. Your life is now filled with pain and misery.

Ha, ha, ha, you hear his fading laugh. He put you in your grave at last.

The Disease of Society

We always move forward into our past,
Whether it be paradoxical or oxymoronic ;
Our future is only our past....

The Disease of Love

What if love was contagious
Like some sort of disease
Affecting all religions and races
Bringing the world to its knees

Where a cure is never found
Where no one even tries
A disease that for years sticks around
Contaminating all of mankind

From a kind word being said
To a hug when it's needed the most
In hopes it quickly spreads
With everyone being the host

What if love was a disease
And it was highly contagious
No need to put us all in quarantine
Because love is a disease that would save us

The Disease of Power

This sickness,
is just a mental disturbance.
One gender takes control,
the other must follow.
For years sexism is the prevention,
of human decency and equality.

Fighting for human rights,
fighting for women's rights,
fighting for all rights,
its so sad.
Fighting for rights that we should already have,
fighting for rights that we were giving to the day we were born,
fighting for rights just to be who we are.

Why,
why is this called mankind?
of a world for all human beings.
Sexism plaguing men's minds,
or is it because god is a man,
it gives you power of desire an pleasure,
but really its all an excuse for it to be called mankind,
women should be this, women have no right to do that,
just listen to yourselves,
look at yourselves,
you act so second rate.

Power is the source of bringing peace,
but it's also the sight of evil,
while evil do bring fear on others,
it never last long.
Having to fight for things that's already ours,
fighting over things that's not even a chose,
because humans are fighting humans?
or is it brainwashing the hands of things.

The Disease Called Gossip

Sometimes gossip may start out true
But each time it's passed along it gets skewed
The more lips it passes the more it's changed
The facts and story get rearranged

The whispers may come from an enemy or "friend"
Either way it's the truth they bend
Spreading the lies and gossip they've heard
Never thinking about who is being slurred

Gossip is like a disease that is spread
It infects the listener until they are misled
What they hear the start to believe
It changes the way a person is perceived

But the spread of gossip can end with you
There really is something you can do
When you hear something about someone you know
Keep it to yourself and don't let it grow

Premium MemberThe Disease

It has always amazed me
And something I could never understand
How much hate and evil
Can hide in the heart of man.

Living a nightmare
Beyond our wildest dreams
Living in times like the world has never seen
The government's foolishly opened the door
And now it's hard to trust anyone anymore.

We cannot spend our lives in fear
But stand strong united and after the shock and mourning
Dry our tears
The disease spreads far and wide
And in our midst they hide.

Fighting fire with fire
Only makes the flames grow higher
As Satan has his day
I pray with all my heart
That all hate and war will be soon swept away.
And Satan is no more
And God will have his day.

Man has shown he can''t live together and get on
It's always the innocent who suffer most
Let God's kingdom soon become
And all hate and war and suffering will be gone
Man will finally live in peace
Forever.

Living With the Disease

HERE ALONE IN THE DARK,
I DONT KNOW WHERE TO GO, BUT I'VE COME SO FAR.
 GOTTA PUSH FURTHER,
BUT DONT KNOW IF I COULD,
BUT IF I DONT IM GONNA WISH I WOULD.
 MY HEAD IS RACING,
 BUT IM NOT SO SURE,
IF THIS IS THE PATH THAT WILL LEAD ME TO MY CURE.
 I WANT TO BE RELEASED
 OH I CANNOT WAIT,
WITH EVERY DAY DECEASED, I HOPE THIS IS NOT MY FATE.
I SHALL NOT TELL A LIE,
FOR I WILL BEGIN TO CRY,
I AM BECOMING SOME WHAT SHY,
FOR I KNOW I WILL DIE.
BUT EVEN THOUGH I SEE THE SPECTRUM OF LIGHTS,
THE COLORS WILL NOT ALWAYS SHINE SO BRIGHT.
DO I STILL BELIEVE THIS LIFE IS TRULY DIVINE?
THAT IS THE ANSWER I SO TRULY QUESTION ON THIS NIGHT.

The Disease of Humanity, Reprise

Simple to fall apart,
the dry broken skin.

The sunken eyes will tell you lies,
you can't hide that kind of fire,
once its blazing, its blazing.

Madness, sadness,
manic panic,
pressure, pulsing, pounding, pain,
you can only pray for rain.
If your lucky you'll go numb,
before your face turns to dust.
Hope your legs move,
when your head decides to run.

Disease received,
in the air that breathes,
the life into the lungs of humanity.

When the sunlight burns your eyes,

at least you know that your alive .

The Disease of Humanity

Manic panic,
the brain bleeds,
the maddening sadness,
the mouth that feeds,
it's the disease of humanity.

When the sunlight burns your eyes,
at least you know your alive.

We have faith,
and we believe,
in the smoke,
that we breathe,
the truth that lies,
down in between,
and the blessing,
that we receive,
it is the disease,
the disease of humanity.

There Are Some Remedies Worse Than the Disease

They say the cure for loneliness
Is just to find a friend
But what if that friend
Was a dead end?
The times enjoyed
Throughout the years
Come to a halt
As the time slows
The ticking comes to a close
Then it slowly comes back
The thoughts of it all
Just like a sloth, they crawl
Haunting.
Panic.
The rush.
Faster.
Go.
Run to his aid.
Reach out and feel
the beating heart
the breath
the kiss
life.

The Disease of Addiction

Through my life I have suffered from the disease of addiction
It has no favorites, it holds no bounds
It pretends to be your best friend, only to stab you in
the back
Life with this disease is full of misery
Misery only you can find your way out of
Once you take control of the disease of addiction
You can have your life back
The things you’ve lost friends, family, irreplaceable
possessions
One by one they will resurface until your life is finally
complete
This disease doesn’t want you to be cured
It wants to stay inside you and manifest itself into the
gates of insanity
And if insanity isn’t enough it will go after your soul
This disease will never go away it will always be
inside you
But there is hope of recovery that choice is up to you
Today I choose to fight the disease of addiction
A fight I have fought many times before
This time I hope the fight ends in my favor
And this disease will leave my mind, body, and spirit
at rest
