The Disease Called Gossip

Sometimes gossip may start out true But each time it's passed along it gets skewed The more lips it passes the more it's changed The facts and story get rearranged The whispers may come from an enemy or "friend" Either way it's the truth they bend Spreading the lies and gossip they've heard Never thinking about who is being slurred Gossip is like a disease that is spread It infects the listener until they are misled What they hear the start to believe It changes the way a person is perceived But the spread of gossip can end with you There really is something you can do When you hear something about someone you know Keep it to yourself and don't let it grow -C.A.Saputo xoxo
