Birdwatchers are not clock-watchers
Fishermen are not either
Avid readers are not clock-watchers
Neither are violin makers
Or ship-builders
We now stand where right where we were
as the curtains opened ~ the conductor peeking through
Deja vu
There's a plaque at number 1-0-5
'Twill be there for some years
And anyone who looks at it
Will just see what appears
But they won't know the meaning
What lies behind the word
All they'll see when reading it
Is simply this, "Bluebird"
A testament to something?
A nickname for someone?
No one will have an inkling
They'll just think it's fun
But two out of eight billion
Do know the secret of
What lies behind that little plaque,
A token of one's love
O the old poetry!
When hard times meant something
and uncertainty was eternal.
Words of wonder from a stirring spirit,
now gospel to yesteryear's testament.
The rain wet pine once burst forth with
the morning dew.
Alas! My memory is always new.
Goodness gracious me
What a sight to see
A wise old owl wearing glasses
Taking note of all that passes
Perched high upon a tree
they said the score
was one to one
in the second
inning but
on stage
suddenly
i dropped
my baton
yet carried
on using my
middle finger
to bring out a
particular sound
especially from
the percussion
for once i was
one of them
but now the
woman with
the crash
cymbals
stands
for her
time
has come
after waiting
some twenty or
more minutes into
this symphony
after counting
from the very
beginning
wouldn't it be
sad if she
crashed
a half
beat
too
ear
ly

Which ones do you remember the most?
Some celebrity with gown unfurled
Perhaps it’s a well-known TV host?
Perhaps a little cute cat will sell
A product you don’t recall, here’s why…
All you will see a cute wagging tail
As she runs ‘round, and jumps to the sky.
The ones you remember most of all…
The funny ones that make you giggle
But the product’s name you will recall
Most times it’s because of the wiggle!
So attention all marketers out there
Make it funny, if you want me to care!

We are met again
at the crossroads of delusions
reminiscing failed choices
and broken promises;
here we stand once again
in the vanity of illusions
reflecting tainted truths
and old compromises.
Here they come again
dancing in our faces;
streaming confetti,
blinding revelations of lies,
pretending there’s no more parting
the river of races;
yet our children continue to be
swatted down like flies.
Many lessons have been taught—
few have been learned;
the new day that dawned
was a mere placation
to stall the drive and determination
of freedom yearned.
Little was it realized
that this was—is the same old nation.
Once again they’re at it—
making us the butt
of their everlasting joke;
stop, think—take a good look:
alls claiming
they’ve pocketed our vote!

She Should Take Note
All of her misgivings Hillary did deny
And now campaign she must intensify
Into middle of turmoil herself thrust
Saying what she must to be trusted.
Once and for all make it perfectly clear
Don't be afraid of me or ever live in fear
Of much experience I am composed
Bernie's lack should be further exposed.
Instead of letting nature take its course
Look at all of those who now do endorse
Hillary and how long have been seated
Why in the world should she be defeated.
For President this is Hillary's second bid
Only fools forget and will flip their lid
To encourage more people for her to vote
What I have said above should take note.
