A red-tailed hawk soars in an azure sky,
Majestically gliding - oh so high!
Is it any wonder he inspires such awe

Shapeshifting Into a Red Tailed Hawk

This is my meager try at a tailed-rhyme
 flowing slow and steady spaced across the line
  hit or miss, a quality expressed but un-refined
    why write poetry so unfamiliar?

It was like a dream calling out loud to me
 marking a world surreal for me to try and see

Fluffy Tailed Acrobats

Fluffy tailed performers
Chitter chatter among themselves
No one listening, everyone slathering
Juicy gossip 

Taking daring fifteen foot leaps and dives
From magnificent heights, barely landing on
Tiny branches.

Flinging themselves with wild abandon
And oodles of faith into the air, flipping and
Swirling. Contortionists.

Sliding up trunks the way others slide down.

He was mighty as could be venturing down by the sea,
revered as the king soaring over his golden throne-
