Premium Member holiday focused

I’ve been unashamedly holiday focused,
everything fit together like a puzzle,
all febrile worries were pardoned,
we took haven in our comforts.
I slept shamefully late,
We weaponized fun.

The world seemed parasitology free,
pharmacology, pathology and histology free,
if not entirely anatomy free wink wink
and except for my mom, assessment free.

It’s been great, it’s been Christmas!
But soon, my cares will, again, be fined tuned
by the Gordian knot of learning
and it’s ungentle reckonings.

If it weren’t all asked for - I’d be pissed.

A Song for this:
Coney Island Man by Swing Out Sister

On the River

Morning, the river belongs to the geese
Who congregate on the bank
Poke about in the grass
Run, take flight, and land on the water
Heave their wings to skim the surface
Noisy and honking, splashing
As they inhabit their domain

Afternoon, the river belongs to the people
Who gather as families and friends
Lying on the grass
Swing out on a rope and land in the river
Or climb in from the bank’s edge
Shouting and calling, splashing
As the inhabit their domain

Bliss

In the shade of wild trees
grew muscadine vines,
and in our Tarzan youth
we would swing out
on them from the top
of cliffs over the creek
sixty feet below and we
did notfall down,
but yodeled our joy.
We sat cross-legged
in the tree house,
wide eyed with wonder,
and ruled the world.

The old people
leaned out of their chairs,
and fanned themselves
in the summer heat;
they spoke with hushed tones,
talked of the falling darkness, and
knew it was a long way down.
They left us alone.

They sit and lay beneath the cool shade
Of cypress trees, around the exposed roots
And feathered foliage on beach blankets,
With backpacks, picnic basket full of snacks,
Sandwiches, and drink. Very relaxed.

The chatter sounds, shouts and laughter,
Like a flock of birds on tree boughs,
Making tracks to the Blue hole
A clear blue-green watery playground.

It's quite cool, but you get used to it quickly,
Especially on a hot summer day of swimming.
In swim suits or cut-off jeans, they swing out
On the rope swing, hanging of a limb.
Or, jumping off the edge of the bank,
Into the glistening surface of the water below,
Breaking the surface.

A lot of fun and no one gets hurt.

The light starts slowly etching by and wild gray
And fire color flow through the horizon.
It all comes to an end and the ride home is quiet.

The Pole

[From table top to Frodo, with a step through.
You swing and pirouette your prefect practiced moves.
Ever changing, ever turning, you grip to your pole.
Working hard, climbing, till the Crucifix unfolds.
Place one leg entwined, then with the other you hold.
A hip lock pressing hard, pressing against the pole.
Life is full of twist and turns, of movements up & down.
Life can be feeling upset, or even feeling drowned.
But rise above it all, blue sky there you will see!
Climb hard on that pole, and show with great ability.
That there are new meanings you’ve never seen before.
New opportunities.
Swing out, reach and grasp them all.

Let It Go

Show your love and let it go
Show your ego and confine it
For your love it shall return
For the latter not so likely

Like the falcon on my arm
The swing out in the park
Just like a sailing boomerang
Or a cradle in the dark

When the hare outruns the fox
The cubs don't get to feed
Like a fortune to a fool
Driven only by his greed

Like the clouds release the rain
Like the tree, its seed to grow
Like the bird on fallen wing
Show your love and let it go

Swinging On a Star

Swing in,swing out,
To the world I shout,
Spread peace and love,
That's what I'm about,
From a star so far,
I see hatred and war,
Hunger and death,
Leaves it scars,
New life unfolds,
Dark secrets untold,
For fame and power,
Many loose their soul,
I kick the swing back,
Tense,I can't relax,
I see wars being planned,
Men on the attack,
Nuclear explosions,
Millions dead,for what,
Because of rumours,
Leaders,stick to the facts,
I jump from my swing,
Slide to earth on the beam of my star,
I got a message for you,
God said,'Peace n' Love,
Will conquer,hatred n' war'....

Dance

Take your hand and put it out forward,
Than swing out out to the side, c'mon don't be a coward.
This is fun, now swing your hips from side to side,
Remember all the times you couldnt express yourself and you cried.

But now your can swing your legs and feet any way you want,
Look for that new move that you looked for your whole life like a hunt.
Grab someone by the hand and let them join you in that awesome moment,
I promise you, you will love this feeling you are about to feel.

Turn up the music and dance your heart out,
Move to the beat and go wild and feel like your out of sight.
This is your moment, don't let anyone take that away for you,
This is not happening too slow and i tell you that that's the truth.

Put some head phones on and go to your own world of greatness,
Bust a move like you never did before, I promise it's harmless.
Make your heart feel what I am feling right now and take my hand,
I promise that I will make you smile and scream with joy and stand.
