Premium MemberPerch Bones

The fillet was supposed to be boneless
but it wasn't
It caught me off guard, midmeal.
Between bites of slaw and baked potato
It wedged in the top of my whiskered throat
there was the palest form of panic,
I swallowed hard a few times
swigged root beer
everyone's eyes grew wide
it finally dislodged after a few attempts
thank God perch bones are thin.

At times, the death of something loved
comes out of nowhere
from the cloudy depths
ruins the confidence
twists the heart into unrecognizable things
life is so very thin like perch bone dreams.

He has something to tell Us

They looked to find him
to discuss his shirt.
on the front of
the large sized, great
 quality cotton t-shirt
were the letters
          I.-S.-D.
perfectly centered in
 royal blue letters with
gold trim. And on the back
were the words,
         Ya'll do it!
he had one off those portable radios
in his pocket and we just watched him.
I heard one fella call him:"Yim Doogie"
on his Pants legs were the words the words
"efined AZ'd". We just wanted to know
what these thangs said. For-reel doog.
Said she was from "Intellegencener Ragg Magg"
so we paw'd over sum grub and swigged
on sum millies, Fossier got
trill and Dank sum Havv and gnawed on Dezzert
wiff sum Strawberries and banana (with ah) sweet marsala-
and truffle oil syrup, chocolate and whipped cream and
Kake. Old Gal smiled at me
at the buffet line, I looked back in the hallway
after the interview
the heel on her shoe broke. I went to
the store and bought her some new
one's. She kissed me and told
me she wanted me to centerpiece her
and we went back and
Strummed them strangs all night long.

Get your knees up, Mother Brown,
For tonight we're going to town.
Under the table, you might go
It won't be knees up though
It will be from the pints swigged down.

Sister Susie swigged seven Sangria's,
Seven Sangria's sister Susie swigged.
Swigging seven Sangria's was so stupid -
Susie’s severely sozzled her twin sister twigged!

Oktoberfest

Stopped at an Oktoberfest
Just to catch the scene -
Big steins of beer, a German band,
Appropriate cuisine.

Some lederhosen wearers
Did compete at beanbag toss,
Then swigged their pilsners cheerfully
With every win or loss.

The port-a-potties waited
With a needed job to fill,
For after every jumbo stein,
I guess you know the drill.

We only stayed a while
On this bright day in Oktober
For I think it would be much more fun
To patrons not quite sober.

The Swill To Believe

“A man convinced against his will
Is of the same opinion still”—
But though we will with all our might,
A sober thought still wins that fight.

A fairer rhyme I thus propose,
Our feckless follies to expose:
“A man convinced by stubborn will
Has surely swigged some sturdy swill.”

Check Your Calendar

While looking for Viagra
with passion on its brink,
I dropped the little box of pills
they all went down the sink

Now on the pack it clearly says,
40 minutes take to work, so I
was keen to find them quick
and haste I did not shirk

My love was waiting in the bed
I knew for not too long, for pretty
soon she’d be counting sheep
and I with rampant dong

So out I wrenched the U-bend
tube, such water everywhere,
but could not see the little pills,
now patience running bare

So to the all night chemist, I drove
like man possessed, twenty minutes
there and back, and one to get undressed

I swigged one down immediately, looking
at the clock, and hoped the little devil, would
start work on my cock

Ten minutes still to go, perhaps foreplay would
be best, I slid to bed as she smiled and removed
my cotton vest

My love smiled up so sweetly but
then looking rather sad, she said it was
the time of month and sex could not be had

So older chaps beware this ditty, comes the
mannish urge, check your kitchen calendar,
when the hormones surge

Elmo Elmo

Elmo Elmo was an elephant seller
He kept a white elephant in the cellar
He swigged all the bottles
Down a hundred throttles
And was turned into a big screw propeller
