Premium MemberSalmon Sunset

Salmon pink horizon beguiles as I towel dry
Upon a muted canvas morphs hues at sunset.
The lake decants of its waders and pontoons.
Mirrored waters tranquil—a soothing elixir.
Tidy up and make camp for the night.

The campsite invited blissful slumber.
Natural waters reflected frond umbrellas.
An artificial lake at once sequestered.
Fuchsia shades spackled across dusky skies.
All had surfaced—I dove into a lost horizon.

Tea Tales

Come and climb these
Broad bony branches and
Have tea on this tree
with me,
Let's talk our hearts out
Into the poems unsung.

Sleep silently singing in my sizzly eyes,
Sleep might snap with some pumpkin chai,
The sun is seeping in my sulky bones,
Soon the milky moon will mysteriously be alone,
Here, have some squishy scone
While the sun is setting sleekly,
I reckon we should have tea weekly.

Sandalwoody sultry summer,
Hyacinth, hibiscus and hummers,
Poppies, primroses and periwinkles,
The night in esoteric eyes twinkle,
Starling singing on a starless night,
No gloom, a moon , no light,
In this sordid slumber silence,
I can hear your eyes speak.

Let's tell each other
All our hearts hanker
To say,
Drink tea and recite
The poems and make
No delay,
I'll have chamomile tea,
I'm not Mrs. Bennet
But it'll calm my nerves,
You like your tea with herbs,
Spearmint, rosemary and thyme,
And make sure the poem rhymes.

Sunsets and Silhouettes

Cool coastal air caressing care on my face,
The sand slipping softly through my feet,
The ravenous roars
Of the ocean’s whimsical waves,
Ice cream top like silky snowdrops,
Woody waffle cone
Like a bark of a tree,
The sun bleeding in the sea,
Sunsets and silhouettes,
I closed the gap,
I bit the top of the icecream,
And it slid down
Through the gate of my teeth,
Warming warmly the tongue,
And I thought
I swallowed the sun.

Premium MemberA Crimson Sky Breaks the Distant Shore

I squinted while gazing into the western skies
my attention drawn to banks where willows wept.
Twilight, a melange of magical moments in my eyes,
usually interludes when twilight colors were windswept
just before the juncture where daylight slowly faded
and the reign between sun and moon were traded.

But tonight, "a crimson sky breaks the distant shore."
Appearing low across the horizon as if flames of fire
or a canvas where vermillion paint fills every open pore.
Dusk glows with summer heat as shifts of light transpire.
Silently, the sun sinks, and the transfer of rule unfolds.
Trailing behind are gossamer rays of ambers and golds.

Premium MemberShattered

Chaos color blast
blue sun is traveling fast
past a blood red moon.
Creatures scurry for cover
on the dark side of summer.

Red tailed comets streak
Paisley colors growing weak,
Midst music, dance, laughs!
Night has destroyed amber day;
and the world's in disarray.

Summer sunset

This sunset in the Summer sky

The beauty of it all makes me want to cry

Reminds me of our walks late at night

Sometime we even walked till it was daylight..

Wish you were still here
 to walk with me
 it's never been the same.!!

The End of Summer

Orange sunshine, purple clouds
At the seashore - restless crowds
Silver coin makes a splash
August month gone in a flash

Premium MemberA Twilight Reflection

"I find tranquility where sand meets sea at twilight's gleam and poets dream" - by author

Reclined am I beneath the shimmer of a summer sky.
It spills pink-persimmon woven in and out of feathered clouds.
I relish these moments when the strawberry moon’s ascent is nigh.
Sand, sea, and serenity reign here far from city crowds.
To the sun that lingered all day on my skin I toss a kiss goodbye.

Summer Sunset 13-03-23

An artists paintbrush splashes againt a white canvas,
like the sun on an untouched sea
the palette of vibrant colours the same as
the rays of light reflecting off the waters surface.

Wielding his brush in between his fingers,
he mixes two colours carefully,
blurring the line
between the water and the beach.

He paints yet more,
leaving strokes of fading yellow, vibrant red and pink
upon the sea's deep blue ripples and frothing crests,
the sun's image shimmering on the surface.

Intricately he constructs serveral palm trees,
their leaves tickled by the wind,
their bodies forming delicate shadows
dotted all around the beach.

Ethereal rays of light illuminate the idyllic scene,
a majestic combination of ruby, violet and gold.
As the final strokes are set and done,
the silent painting jumps into a cacophony of life.

The cry of seagulls.
The neverending crash of the sea,
palm trees swaying gently in the ocean breeze
as the sun slowly sinks beneath the waves.

Ah!
A summer's sunset

Euphonious Summer Evening

walking back home, i take my time
to feel that summer evening
the birds returning to their nests,
the sun is glowing red
and the night is one step ahead
the sun's beautiful reflection in the pond
and the cold breeze that hit me and down to my soul
I stand there in peace and hear the voices of crickets
the serenity I feel in the euphonious tracks of nature
walking back of home, i take my time
to feel that summer evening

Premium MemberNever Before Seen

In hues orange, pink, red, teal and purple,
the sunset skies look quite unique tonight,
to laud this hour of summer eternal-
pretty as the purple martins in flight!
Each hour's new, though they go in a circle;
And I'm thrilled fate put me here for this sight.
Early, eager moon, remembers cream clouds,
Coming to soon fade, like the floral crowds.

Premium MemberA September Day's Ending Sonata

I’m drowning in sunset’s last yellow rays.
Clouds plush as pillows cavort, then fade away.
I want to see, to touch, to feel, and breathe the ocean in;
to seize each sacred second – not to stray.
In primrose twilight, summer lingers near.
A giant stillness surrounds me.
There is so much glory to behold
touching the horizon of a placid periwinkle sea.
Ecstasy envelops me. I melt like ice cream.
September disrobed is a Sapphire night.
