Father, Guide My Steps

Walking alone scares me...
Father, guide my steps
that I may be safe
from coming storms,
whenever I wake,
whatever challenge I take:
be there to strength me and uplift me,
and I won't fear any sound, any darkness:
your wisdom is more than light...
oh, Father, guide my steps in the starless night!

I will not listen to a liar's voice,
and not put my trust in anybody
other than you, Father smiling from above;
the life you gave me is as precious as gold,
I'll wait for tomorrow to unfold...
without any worry and anxiety!

Facing danger makes me weak,
Father guide my steps
and lead me home safely
through fog and rising shadows
that have ghostly faces and speak
as if they were souls of misery!

Father, guide me steps,
not only tonight, but always;
make all darkness disappear
from these dark thoughts...
so that the starriest night can appear,
and morning can chase away clouds!

She whispers and sighs beneath the starriest skies
Dancing in the light of the moon until she cries
She gasps breaths of desire

She reflects silhouettes of dreams with a heartbeat
Praise God who captured this portrayal so complete
She beckons hope with fire

She colors the sunsets and mountains with a glow
Hues of amber, crimson and rich green for a show
She enfolds nature’s choir

She frees the inhibited and brightens their mood
Gently embracing them with beauty in the nude
She touches love higher

Set the World Free

Set the World free,
be a shining light in the dark night,
be a shining beacon of hope in the dark sea,
Embrace the hopes and desires of the world and set them free,
Let those hopes fly high and shine bright so all can breathe,
Breathe and let those hopes shine bright as the starriest night,
As the very first flower blooms in the spring time,
So does love,
and so does hope,
and with hope let our hearts prosper into a new society,
A society of forgiveness and prosperity,
Cherish Chivalry and mild mannered politicians,
Beauty is in the hearts of the ones who sets pace with love,
Beauty is with the ones who protect the weak and fight for the right to live happily and die smiling.

Aren'T Shadows and Phantoms Alike

I reckon a vast symmetry
between sunset and darkness...
when shadows obscure the starriest scenery,
and clothe trees in tenebrous mystery:
I turn my glace to the full moon in distress!

Never disappear from my sight, moonlight;
ask the north wind to make shadows vanish:
letting the cool breeze return to delight,
letting stars reappear and dismiss fright,
but is my assumption of fear too brash?

Aren't shadows and phantoms alike?
They come forward without making a sound;
I can crawl slower than a snake,
but fog rises too quickly, how can I escape?
If I run, leaves will crackle...I'll be found!

Dreaming of Bethlehem's Stars

Eleven days before Christmas, as we were singing, " A Child Is Born"...
fluffy snowflakes came down and they were as big as white popcorn.

Surprised mom yelled, " Run to the window, they are more beautiful than snow flowers
and daises... " Go, catch some into your warm hands and dream of Bethlehem's stars!"

Astonished as those shepherds watching their sheep under the starriest sky,
we saw pretty snowflakes not a wondrous star followed by the three Magi.

They kept on falling and floating like dry leaves on a December's cold evening...
when carols were played on a church organ that was taller than any ceiling.

Merrier than angels announcing Christ's birth, we stared at His bright stable...
and what we felt was the humbleness of a King whose love was so ample.

Once again, we ran back to the snow-dusted window and looked into the quite sky,
among the gleaming snowflakes: a golden child appeared asking for a happy lullaby.

Pain Gets In the Way of Forgiveness

It would take a huge amount of strength
to forgive someone who did wrong,
and no longer partakes in living...
why I am I so unforgiving and unkind?
It's probably because pain gets in the way
iof forgiveness, but holding onto the grudge
keeps the wounds open and unable to heal.

Find, o bitter heart, the easiest and quickest way of forgiving...
by letting peace live in the happiest heart again!
Recall, o wounded heart, how someone was moved by mercy
and forgave your faults without being asked...
can you be as complacent as that friend was?

I must forgive without resenting it by spreading a joy
never felt by whoever caused hurt and received
undeserved kindness; even love can flourish in darkness,
its invisible light makes way through the starriest night...
as many wait with anxiety for an occurrence such as this!

How can we tell those persons, who are no longer here,
that have been forgiven for their words, actions and deeds?
No, we don't have to tell them that pain had gotten in the way
of forgiveness...they will know by the changes they'll see in us;
only then we can make peace with them and go on living gracefully.

The Sunny Island of Capri

The sunniest island,
with its Sea Stacks standing out
of the Tyrrhenian Sea,
shimmers as sailboats glide
in timeless serenity...
Paradise's duplication in man's heart.

Winter brings no drifts of snow,
only mild breezes from Sicily,
and the tourist is always on the go,
exploring, discovering and wondering
how this small island came to be...
when God stopped and began creating.

The sunniest island
with pastel houses perched on cliffs edges,
and ruins of castles and villas on rocky hills;
the loveliest island
in the Mediterranean garden...terraces
decked with common brooms and oleanders.

And as the mists vanish towards evening,
the quails are seen flying above, while the lemons'
perfume is hard to resist...the beautiful landscapes are revealed;
sail away in the bluest sea ever seen by the human's eye...
spend the starriest night gazing over its glistening waves:
a traveler's dream realized in the sunny island of Capri!
