Dear old man,
My quill quivers.
How do I glorify you,
With only ink, not gold?
Oh lady Calliope,
Lift my soul.
A pin drowned in an ocean of words.
Guide my conscience with notions,
Dearth of words I face,
To sculpt my father's grandeur.
A shrunken, grainy face is all that's left.
Struggles, unparalleled for eternity
Spine bows, for the weight he bears.
A warrior bending his knees to fate.
Wounds he has procured,
A soldier indisputably.
Laments the injustice once and twice,
Yet, prefers seclusion.
No more wars he seeks to wage,
On his own kinds.
The past shoots arrows at him,
Bleeding eyes and shattered bones.
How can one slip such agony?
And forgive his enemy.
Yet, still, Calliope,
Though you guide.
The shaking of my hand,
Hardly lets me carve his story.
Despite your hand over mine,
How do I shape an epic?
while the stars gentle glow melts away my fears
there is a sense of hope despite the worst tears
the joy of each sunrise echoes through my soul
soothing the last ache that the darkness stole
while the breathless prayers are spoken humbly
there is a shadow of despair who blows numbly
remembering the day before I knew God is love
blessings poured down to me from heaven above
Just, stand tall, do not bend,
quietly lean and sway.
Morals are in your heart,
to guide you … every day.
Just stand there like a tree,
when feeling leafless bare.
The structure of your roots,
well grounded … in God’s care.
Just stand up, just stand there,
silhouetted against the sky.
Not your strength, stay standing,
on God’s strength … please rely.
Just stand son, simply stand,
beside you someone’s there.
When alone remember,
I left you in … God’s care.
Son,
I been runnin' for a long time,
Been jumpin' o'er ditches and jukin' land minds
Up hills and through dark alleys, I been
I managed to dodge some pitfalls and quicksand along the way
But I ain't yet tired
Runnin', just runnin' to be free
Runnin', runnin' to truly be
I been runnin'
Runnin' in the night, with no lights
Through the mud, with no boots
And in the sun and rain, too
I been runnin', son
But I ain't yet tired
My legs ain't what they used to be
They ache a 'lil more these days and they don't bend like they used to
But I still got some runnin' to do
So, this run I must continue 'cause I ain't yet tired
Now, you keep runnin', too
And make sure to watch out for the ditches, quicksand and booby traps
And keep your head up during your run
And don't you quit; run on 'til your race is done
you're the king in my jungle,
Peace in my world.
You're the sunshine blossoming my life,
The healthiest air I breathe.
You're my most important person.
The moon in the darkest night.
Like sugar in my coffee,
Salt to my stake,
Your presence so as your absence is felt.
You're my heartache and my headache,
Yet again my Painkiller and stress reliever.
You give me every reason to live,
And I love you earnestly.
It is such a great gift to mother you.
For, you've shaped my world for the better, Effortlessly.
Extra strength and a great spark you have brought unto me.
And to the best of my ability I'll try to be a better mom,
And groom you to be a better Man.
For, mama Cares
with an extra glare.
This ain't said with a blare,
And Now I declare,
That "I Love You" so much!!!
There are few heros in my life
Baba Kauro is top of the ladder
You are the Uncle turned father in the
African setting
You were the father I sought for and found solace
in
You inspired me in ways my dad never did
You believed in me when my dad had doubts
Your trust and encouragement were the fuel and energy that fired me up
It's been 33 years that you left, but your legacies and impact is still traceable
I wish you and your brother my dad were here to see your children, nieces and nephews
The motivation and inspiration has paid off.
I am eternally grateful to you both.

A life moves on
The empty space
A vacancy
The smile missed face
The heartfelt ache
The hopeful joy
Of knowing birds
Must wings deploy
The silent cloak
Of no-one there
Is draped on shoulders
Poised to bear
A voice, a note
Would lift the heart
Small gesture to
The soul impart
Some comfort
In the knowing that
The gloss of memory
Not turned to matte
For vibrant is
The emptiness
Highlighting your
Full presence, yes
And more
Despite the heartache burn
It waits with Love
For your return
How can we know that the ones we love will live no more?
And the way they leave our lives is more permanent than a slamming door.
You lived his life looking into your child's face.
Never even knowing that he'll never finish the race.
He was the perfect son building his muscles on your farm.
It was a dangerous life, but he never came to any harm.
Then one summer night the highway took his youthful life.
The news they brought you cut your soul deeper than any knife.
Now you spend your days wondering what might have been.
He was a champion wrestler, an expert with a pin.
But he's gone forever, and things will never be the same.
And now you can't help but cry at even the thought of his name.
But you've got to move on and learn to be strong.
It's hard sometimes to realize that life can be so wrong.
Then one day you wake up and realize certain things.
How life can be so mysterious with the changes that it brings.
All at once you know that your son is in a special place.
And you no longer have to worry for him, because he's won his race.
This Thing of Joy
(Pregnancy Journey: Month 1)
This thing of joy is sweet news,
but my lips have nausea spelled
on them
Sweet news yet I am unable
to work much or walk for long
Yet the colours of life remain in
my perk
Purple headbands to match
my blooming face
And a pink shawl to keep me warm
in this place
My Habibi, a sweet gift did bring
a golden locket, to wear and sing
Of the love we share, and the life we'll bring
into this world, our hearts will ring
Though I am exhausted and feeling low
I know this journey will be worth the woe
For soon I'll hold my little one
and all the pain will be undone
I'll rest and take it slow
and test the colours of life
Let it stay on, flowing through me,
and into my precious seed
Bringing with it, joy, love,
and all that we need.

My Father- His Son- Holy Spirit R 1- the Sum of it ALL
Sum like it hot
Adds up cold
Subtract not
Divides the soul
Feelings at naught
Hardly behold
Fires started as I walk on the coals
Mercies grace saved my soul
My Father- His Son- Holy Spirit R 1- the Sum of it ALL together they all make me whole
And one and one and one is one
The Father, His Son, Holy Spirit are one
Feelings at naught
Hardly behold
Sum like it hot
Adds up cold
Subtract not
Divides the soul
Mercies grace saved my soul
My Father- His Son- Holy Spirit R 1- the Sum of it ALL together they all make me whole

I wanted to pass on something
From my childhood memories
But all that I had left
Was sad feelings and broken dreams
Everything that I loved
Was destroyed or tossed away
Burned bridges and toys
Scorched emotions and betrayal
So, what do I have to give you?
What legacy do I pass on today?
How to be a better man?
When I'm still learning this with age?
I hope that you will feel
That you are truly loved and understood
That you'll be inspired and uplifted
By everything I say and do
For having hopes and dreams
Feeling loved and cared about
Having a place to call home
Is precious without a doubt
May you look back with joy
Feelings of warmth and happiness
May you know that you are valued
For being your own true self

Just beyond the azure sea, sun reflects
Hues in tangerine and blushing effects
Breathing joy through the clear, cool night
Holding a guitar built from songs so bright
Inspirations in soothing praises and psalms
Graceful images, a beautiful that ever calms
Wonders erase darkness with love’s splendor
With hearts of hope and faith, fear will surrender
Like a glistening star way up high in the sky
Happiness unheard of inspires, cannot deny
Roses in full bloom imagine shining such grace
Attracting bees and birds, nature’s gentle embrace
It is the miracle of life, the amazing in His sacrifice
That will always suffice - He paid the ultimate price

A new son was coming
Millions of people were praising
God for answering their million prayers
He grew up and became useful to communities
Respectful, peaceful and humble
Ruler who was with more love for people.

Lazarus was dead for only a few days
Nothing could wake him it says
not even the tears and the weeping
even the loud groaning and moaning
with his final breath he blew out his candle
He was sealed in a tomb
like a prisoner in chains
sentenced to solitary confinement
All seemed lost like a sinking ship
Yet a man of miracles the Son of Man
travelled from heaven to earth
to save and heal pain and suffering
Without a touch with just three words
The Son of Man released Lazarus
Angels rejoiced
Mountains raised their voices
Nature rose from the dead of sleep
What was easy for Him was a miracle to us
And in the excitement what is never said
Never seen was His grin even a chuckle
Lazarus was untied we were untied
Everything changed forever
Echoing all around
Beauty of Winter stream
Frozen droplets seen
Birds from the forest
Greeted our tourists
My Creator, my heart
You are Master of fine art
Our harmony accords
Glory to you my Lord
Purity of life
It is you, Jesus Christ
With love we replenish
Your heart we have kept as precious
Honor to our faith
Heavenly Father preciously gave
Glory to delight
Many are in sight
Embraced by God's love
Heavenly blessed from above
We are beloved
Deliver them our love
