I was a seed in soil
snugged in the womb of my Mother Nature
ready to shine under rays and rain
to sprout my fruit and shake my leaves
to grow a thick spine and wrinkle under heat
to greet the wind under waltz and words
until the breeze whispers me to sleep.
I intend to be nurtured by the elements
in chaotic destruction and scenic growth
for my earrings to hang low
on the branches of my cherry tree.
Low, so animals may eat
Low, so they may pick
and choose the ones they desire most.
I was a pearl in their world of oysters
tucked in a bed of pleasures
rested in an ocean of treasures,
crafted
to be selected
for the beauty of riches
strung from lace
on the napes display
attracting the eyes of suitors and the envy gaze.
I was a root
ripped from my youth
and all my innocent fruits
fell from heights of doubt
and begat the chance to sprout
again and again had I prayed
for a dove or another love to come my way
in a dream or from above
i’ll sit in your garden of bluff
i promise to not move a single grove
just tell me i’m beautiful once more
just before i have no choice but to go.

Heated by sun and rock
a mottled snake licks the morning air.
Last night, stones were its eyes,
a blood-chill had frozen the flavor
and flicker
of tongue and taste.
The daylight is already sun-crushed,
heavily it crumbles,
dry churning a scant green
to withered acres,
grinding all beneath its hermetic heel.
A rabbit runs a racetrack behind its eyes,
long whiskers sightlessly search
reaching far from their hidden hollow,
its brown pelt dreamily brushes over
a rounding horizon.
Snake uncoils, breaking boulders of blood
between warming bones.
A cage of hoops unlocks a hunger.
A blushed mouth is snugged around
translucent fangs,
bodkins that smell out
all small-pawed scrabbling’s.
Rabit ears twitch as eyes leap awake,
it hears the serpents lithe unhinging,
senses its scaled unclasping.
An immediate pulse quickens,
vibrant tendons of awareness
animate joy and fear.
On the quiet breath,
visions of life or death arise
as speculative ghosts.
Now the sky must record
while the earth forgets.

sizzle sizzle schwizzle smizzle
drizzle pop pop sizzle sizzle
two fresh eggs, snugged up in a pan
became a couple – Bea and Dan.
Let’s be together forever said optimistic Bee
Dan kept his yolk shut; how naïve she could be.
Okay, agreed Dan who made up a “together forever” song
This was seconds before breakfast, which was not very long.

In the dark of the night, on an All Hallows' Eve,
as I lay down my head and got snugged in the bed,
'twas a shadow that bloomed, caused all senses to leave,
as a huge hairy spider crawled, eyes gleaming red!
Out in front, a large sack that she shuffled along,
so I watched as she loped with that load full of gore,
like the beat from a dirge or a horrid old song,
da-duh-DUM, da-duh-DUM, as she moved 'cross the floor.
Shaking hard, to the edge of the bed, silent crept;
There she was, hairy legs, abdomen bulging fat.
Sweaty palms, frazzled nerves, in the darkness I lept,
closed my eyes, held my breath, threw my slipper - Kersplat!
and as she scuttled off, protecting precious eggs,
I wondered how she'd sound with two more dangling legs.

I sing the gentle villanelle,
A villenesque so slightly said,
Howbeit the nighttide casts her spell.
And now the rune I know so well
Remains, remembered, in my head;
I sing the gentle villanelle.
As evening leaves and shadows dwell
The golden brightness all but fled,
Howbeit the nighttide casts her spell.
The flowing verse, her tale to tell,
Inhibitions adrift and shed,
I sing the gentle villanelle.
And owls resound about the fell,
The day replaced with night's instead,
Howbeit the nighttide casts her spell.
Yet me, contented, in my shell
Warmly, snugged and safe a-bed;
I sing the gentle villanelle
Howbeit the nighttide casts her spell.

Three petals down, I feel moss-grown...
Nightcore is the tempestuous phrase,
She feels withdrawn, I reclose,
He indrawn his heart, I disclose...
Until this night is over,
All alone, I can't fight my fear,
Trapped in my anxiety, I battle the four walls,
Fragile piety, am a wrecked gall...
Snugged in my heart, infinitely a hold to.

I’m going to break this Beak loose
Got my mind around in circles Duck Duck Goose’
Been through
‘Life’, Milton Bradley
Speak my mind,Expressing my feelings while Genuinely showing the real me.
Have you listened to my story?
What I have faced or what I have seen.
I have had to fight through life, body left scarred inside, outside and in between.
Red headed Black sheep of tha family.
Been through the most and still hold the biggest heart yet they are still determined to break me.
Been told I wasn’t going to be it.
So, I added it to complete my outfit
Snugged it on tight to show my silhouette fit.
Been told, I was soft and weak behind the tears that fall off my cheek
But, my tears just soften the beast.
Before the pain becomes words that she regrets once they roll off the tongue as sentences when released.

I was cocooned in cares under
a juniper tree;
My spirit swung briskly into
a stormy sea,
The blast and billows rolled into
my serene soul,
I had to pen a priceless piece
to make me whole.
As I rushed to find a release
in my room,
I found my muse in the petals
of morning bloom.
As the sunlight sweetly snugged
the scary scars,
I penned a priceless piece for
the morning stars.
The tough teardrops that fell
were the ink
with which my hands drew
a luminous link...
Between my grave challenges and
my cheap choice.
The result was a priceless piece full
of virtuous voices.

NOTCHER MAMA'S FIRST CHOICE
(White Boy Rappin)
There's a whole lotta nuthin thacha can't get free
it's the price you pay for whatcha wanta be
if ya gotta have a reason then ya just don't see
you
just don't see.
there's a curtain on her window and it's snugged up tight
if you's peepin through the curtain she is dyna-mite!
she will meetcha in the parlor and she doesn't bite
you
just don't see.
she's a little understanding but she won't say how
if you ever read her number you could call her now
she has wrote it for a reason on the bathroom towel
you
just don't see.
If you think you gotta leave she can turn you on
if ya ain't got no money then you best you gone
with a hunert in you pocket you all set to dawn
you
just don't see.
She's a little underhanded when it comes to love
if ya don't know she's planned it whatcha thinkin of?
If ya prayin at her curtain, does ya need a shove?
You
just don't see.

snugged tight,

Awake

silence rules the night
shadows move about
rain falls like tears
weeping wind bows to
no one
yesterday has been packed away
tiny boxes and envelopes
stored in the unsuspecting minds
of the lost between you and i
finding it hard to find my way home
overtook the moving day
cluttered thoughts of you
is stored in this fog escaping the end
more shadows become new
separating the gifts of life
who's ?
in this darkness i can see
over come by the dense fog i can feel
the fact that nothing is said is my fear
i want to declare my innocence
silence is the night that hold the deafening
screams of death of yesterday
snugged away in there rightful places
counted and numbered perfectly composed
file cabinet, rolodex eyes finding it's part
who's part or what part is mine?
silence rules the night

It was time....
The clock stopped ticking...
Hummed in bliss, a few dwarfs
And sprites.... somewhere....
Droopy leaves glistening in late-night dew
He slipped into the blanket of ink-blue sky
Comfortably snugged
In the pillow of pink clouds
I conjoured upon him
With a gentle kiss, wrapping him
In dreams woven by my lullaby
And I whispered....
" Sweet Night! My White Goblin"
The stars that spectacled
Marvelled subconsciously
At the thing called 'Love'
And burnt and vanished
In their own envy...
He leaves last
For he knows how hard it is
To let him go
And ere my eyes could open
He kissed 'em gently
And whispered
"Goodbye! My Sweet Champagne"
And I knew then that
It was time.......
