deep in the underbrush of the ying ying forest
there is a path of posies and a faerie named Norest.
Norest has prettied up her home with window boxes, each with a lily.
Her home has fluffy comforters, warm tapestries, and a parrot who is silly.
Once a year she holds an autumn tea for her favorite people.
They play finger games like “here’s the church, and here’s the steeple."
Norest is a hostess who bakes tasty pies, scones and fruitcakes.
Sometimes she adds banana splits and berry power shakes.
No one wants her smoothies, they are orange and green.
But if we are going to honor a hostess, in Ying Ying she is the queen.
Unfortunately, her parrot can be beyond silly, sometimes he is mean.
Often her guests run out screaming, never again to be cherished or seen.

We walked the mall,
Hand-in-hand.
Your skin warm,
Like a summer night,
As it touched my cold shoulder.
You wrapped your hands around my waist,
In a backwards hug.
Your head brushed my chilling skin,
As you whispered in my ear.
I convinced you to giddy things,
Pleasing my inner child.
I skipped and pulled you along,
Headed to Build-A-Bear.
You looked at me,
Just like you would a kid.
You kissed my forehead,
And made me laugh.
Then we went to get drinks.
I bought us both smoothies.
I was childish yet again,
Blowing my paper straw at you.
It hit your arm,
Skewed away,
And on and on it flew.
I covered my giggle and leaned over,
Trying not to seem rude.
It hit the floor,
As if it were a feather.
A lady glared at us,
And yelled something crude.
I simply laughed.
But you got mad,
Thinking very brood.
I grasped your arm,
Trying to interrupt,
As you pulled away.
But on you go,
So I switched to plan B.
I pulled you over,
Looked in your eyes,
And simply kissed you.

lists of things I crave about city
the one in particular
smells reaching for all directions
greedy fruit smoothies in a blender
I can tell that one’s got strawberry
with a hint of ambergris
I said to a woman in particular
Donna Karen Cashmere Mist
she looked surprised that I knew
keep walking what have I done to be made to suffocate
in a bliss bin soaked fat with years of you
collected on the scarf you wear this time of year
all these things happening but
your hand squeezes mine and I don’t need to look
to see that you’re smiling

Blue
berries
on the vine.
Gift of Nature.
Unrefined fresh fruit,
unwashed, eaten just so.
Option to blend special treats –
muffins, smoothies, cobblers, and pies.
Scrumptious splendor, sweet summer surprise.

No seeds, spinach or carrots around;
no greens, or reds, or oranges found.
Only the smooth sliding elegance
of twosome as one in skating dance.
"Sequined Septuagenarians"
much smoother than fresh-ironed linens.
Golden, gliding glances so well-known,
minute, mellow movements, subtly shown.
A bittersweet moment hangs midair
as dazzling Old Smoothies sway with flair.
Both smoothies are good parcel and part,
but Old Smoothies give rise to the heart.

Seasons like emotions fade away.
Where poisonous rain once
blistered susceptible surfaces,
now sapphire skies showcase the saffron sun,
silently soothing somber scars.
Yesterday was a vacant colouring book.
Today is a kaleidoscopic canvas of colours,
illuminating every blank page.
Rainbow rivers stream through my veins,
as eyes paint in positive portraits.
Pen flows like exotic fruit juices,
blending sweet smoothies.
Essence of fruit salad zest,
liberates from a coconut mind.
Psychedelic pineapple heart,
nurtures my mango soul's serenity.
Sentimental sun rays embrace,
soaking warmth deep inside.
Happiness is tranquil like a
pleasant fresh ocean breeze.

He's on a health kick,
Running until he's feeling sick.
No alcohol or flavoured vapes,
Sleeping eight hours with closed drapes.
Chopping up veggies with brown rice,
Drinking green smoothies with cubes of ice.
Avoiding French fries and burger meals,
Measuring his blood pressure when he feels.
Chicken is his only meat,
Especially eaten as a treat.
He has decaffeinated tea and coffee,
And natural sweetness in his banoffee.
Enjoying pasta with basil oil,
Some sourdough pieces, quite small.
Swimming daily fifty lengths,
To keep up his body strength.
He's a regular at the gym,
His personal trainer looks up to him.
Because he's on a health kick,
And exercising until he's feeling sick.

Of all the colors He could choose
to with the natural world suffuse
God chose to fill the earth with green,
that makes the forests so serene.
I am amazed that so much green
does not create a boring scene.
Instead, green glades gladden the mood
and furnish sights on which to brood.
Green calms the body and the mind
relieving stress of every kind.
God’s gift of green, He offers free,
to foster health for you and me.
Eating the veggies that are green,
can reduce fat and make you lean.
Green smoothies are healthy to drink,
If you are fat, they’ll help you shrink.
The shades of green in nature’s space,
reveal a wise Creator’s face.
So, when by nature you are awed,
wonder, and worship her wise God.

Mellow mango, red gold,
Myriad ways to eat,
Marvel of June smoothies,
Munchable with ice cream.
Mesmerizing pink moon
meets orchard of delight,
Mulberry sun comes soon.

I have a little ninja,
I keep it on the shelf.
It’s not exactly quiet;
I wish it came in stealth.
The things that you can use it for!
There is no lack of wealth.
It even makes fresh pizza dough
And smoothies for your health.
Sometimes, I like to chop things up
When I can’t help myself.
We are a blended family now;
I puréed my Christmas elf.

As I recollect deeply on my mind
On how I would describe it
Pain of losing my father comes into my mind
He did not get a chance of saying goodbye
Although deep down I knew
That look into his eyes that told me a story
A story that I battling to come to terms with
Years dried up my tears
I have not yet started
Laughter that comes and goes
Smoothies my heart from time to time
A purpose that must be utilised
Amazement on my lips
Focus takes over
Who am I
A daughter of an intelligent man
As I go through the memories
On how I would endure this pain
Motivation comes into my mind
His legacy has to be continued
As his eyes told a story
His name must be uphold
A promise has to be fulfilled

Yogurt smoothies, Cocoa Puffs,
Mac & cheese and chicken;
Mushrooms, couscous, turkey (sliced)
And lots of snacks for pickin’.
Cheetos, corn chips, Goldfish,
Peaches, olives and a plum;
Watermelon, cantaloupe
And still, there’s more to come…
Swiss cheese, pickles, Kit Kats
And some mini ice-cream cones;
Yummy corn still on the cob,
Organic milk for bones.
Sautéed broccoli and oh,
Some lemon poppy muffins,
All to fill the bellies
Crying out for constant stuffins’.
A weekend with the grandkids
Is exhausting but so sweet
Just as long as we supply the food
They really love to eat.

What should have been my Salad Days (but I was young, not wise)
were filled with pizza, nachos, pastries, candy bars and fries!
Many years I spent repenting when those days were through,
and there are not too many diets that I did not do!
However, in my 60’s, I found at last the key
to losing weight most healthily and effectively.
Priority I usually give to plant-based foods. My goals
are eating things organic and lots of vegetables.
Love smoothies, stir-fry, home-made soups (tomato, broccoli
and so much more). My Salad Days I’m living happily!

Sun glistening off the tropical bay.
White cotton balls float by reflecting Suns rays.
Surf down below melodically soothing the way.
Vistas of ocean from the left to the right,
spotted with green jewels enhancing the sight.
Sea birds floating serenely they glide, making me wish I could
be by their side.
Gentle tropical breezes waft by surrounding and soothing the soul.
Tropical smoothies, frozen delights, smooth out and mellow the ethereal sights.
Sweet Acacia filling the senses with a sweet fragrant glow.
Sunshine, golden enthrall mellows its hues when meeting the ocean a
tropical show. Orange, red, pink explode in the sky. The sun slowly sliding away seemingly steaming on down.
First stars make themselves known, peaking on through till the whole sky blazes with a Milky Way hue.
Evening turns into night and things settle down when the surfs constant hum lulls us all off to dreams..
