A small but mighty food shelf, no big hoopla to feed their mission, just a small town table of plenty, for those who fall through the cracks.. a gallon of milk, loaf of bread..
Clothes upon their backs, groceries in their cupboards, a hand to hold, a sense of security in thus often cruel world. People who care about helping others with no slap on the back, just a place of HOPE..
A woman with kids in tow, looking for housing, a job to make a honest living, no big spotlight feeds their mission, just a big heart to help others, we were once in their spot, we’ve never forgot..
STEP is GODS mission, to hold every person up in prayer, simple yet meaningful, my mission to help this who need it the most, STEP is our cities anchor, a place to go if you are struggling, with friendly faces to greet you.
God looks upon the heart of those who need help, without a big Blow up on social media…
The full moon followed us here, there and everywhere with its madcap mischievousness, but brought us home safe and sound. — poet
Pleasure of pleasures to be home.
A pleasing treasure of the front door.
Opening, stretching, seeking solace.
Practically diving inside, turning
the faucet back on; releasing air
conditioning and oh…oh…the joy
of the showering spray, removing
the night before, the morning after
from Delta delays. Oh the laze…
did I say the laze…oh no no no…
working to unpack, just to wash
and refill the suitcases. Laboring
for a reunion in Atlantic City.
Mercy and mercy and fun, fun, fun
in the Jersey sun and buffets too,
and much talk talk talk…until
our threshold greets us again
with a chummy slap on the back.
An Old-Man-Child
in an adult world
Alone in their gather
of cocktails and swirl
Again but an alien
as when he was eight
The steps to acceptance
he’s loathe to retrace
The pomp and the patter
falls deaf on his ears
Each slap on the back
reinforcing his fear
An Old-Man-Child
in an adult world
shunning their presents
—midst diamonds and pearls

News to confirm,
and not to inform
A slap on the back,
new patrons reborn
To pander or slander,
a partisan line
No minds to be changed

She dreamt he was with her.
Massaging her shoulders.
Whispering in her ear to pen
poems far bolder!
"Stop writing to please the crowd"
Alas, poetess, afraid she'd be
wearing a shroud.
Wanting always the friendly
slap on the back.
Forgetting other poets, their
boots she need not black.
Writing a poem she loved~
Should be her tack.
A good poem on it's own doth
stand.
Comments neither make a poem,
Nor a woman nor a man grand.
But it's the poetess, whom in
herself must believe.
Making sure above all, it is
her God to please!

Opus #4
LORD Jesus, while on earth, was fully human - shelving His divinity by submitting His will to the Father's - without "discarding" His full deity. So on earth Jesus was born out of womb via birth canal, and probably got s slap on His back to gulp the first air outside Mary's womb. (LORD, help me with these next few lines, amen)
1. Whose sin did Jesus pay for with the first SLAP on the back He got from the attending "midwife or medical expert" in the day? Maybe the person who helped with the delivery, LOL!
2. What would the Disciples have said whenever Jesus would sneeze or FART - or pass gas?
BLESS US, LORD, or simply "More, LORD!"
(Jesus in His Eternity and Omniscience knew He died for my sins and words including these very human considerations and cogitations about Our LORD's humanity and KOINONIA, or fellowshipping, with the closest Disciples.

Valentine kisses to all you ladies out there
Oh you guys, a slap on the back, kisses cause stares
Still like to send kisses though
But wear only one chapeau
Sorry, what if I send you guys a lock of my hair
My soul cries forever with its deepest sadness
betrayed by a love that never was
a child innocent
beaten by angry hands clutched by a World War
from a father whose eyes were vacant
I still remember the rage,
the angry voice, the words
"Come here!"
My head always bowed in silent withdrawal,
eyes that stared at nothing
barely walking yet moving forward
knowing what was to come... again
The hard slap on the back of the head
feet leaving the ground
hands trying to break the fall
feeling numb
the sharp sound of the razor strap
being lifted from the nail it hung on
used like a whip
across back and legs
while being lifted by one arm
the screaming, the crying
the terror of it all
It still haunts my mind
in the quiet dark spaces and always will
My eyes well up when I remember
it's a memory I keep hidden deep within
my damaged soul
My own children would never know such things
I survived
but, at what cost
To always wonder what could have been
yet happy, for it's a sadness,
my children have never known
8/22/17 Contest I'm a Survivor
My nails grow longer in the heat,
I like to keep them short, hands and feet,
pedicure and manicure by the girls in Phuket,
they give you more, full service and yet . . . .
I don't need my shoulders or head massaged,
there's a slap on the back as their fingers emerged,
nothing too intimate otherwise I might get ********,
the personal service should be my selection.
Now there's a mask on my face, an extra they say,
don't worry, it's free, you won't have to pay,
I'm not too keen on cucumber, peer over the edge,
shouldn't be so fussy, after all it's a privilege.
I walk out of the shop, spent my last Thai coin,
can't help but notice - there's a swelling in my groin.
Prepackaged compliment,
our badge of delight
Symbol and emblem,
—deceptively bright
A pandered acknowledgement,
—slap on the back
Others controlling,
the acceptance we lack
