I sat in the sun and closed my eyes
I heard birds chirping and singing
I heard the soothing flow of my birdbath waterfall
I heard the windchime occasionally ring

Then I opened my eyes
I saw birds all around me
They were diving to the ground
and chasing each other around
I saw patterns from plane paths across blue sky
The American Flag fluttered with leaves on trees in breeze
All these sights and sounds merged to greet me
                    - and I smiled -

Chocolate cookies, scent fills my home
Nice phone calls with friends from afar
The good moments shine like a star
New birds come to feeder and roam

Some things today, didn't go well
But good times replaced it all
Pets comfort, while I hear peace call
Like the wind chime ringing its bell

Hours can change with attention
Simple things inside my soul
The flag flies in breeze on the pole
There's so many things I could mention

Even with weakness, strength is found
Like a gem beneath many rocks
Gratitude shines during the walks
Never forget the sights and the sound

Setting my sights from above

Go fikelela marung,

Oikemisetsa tsa godimo.
To reach the clouds,
set your sights above.

Go tswa mo go se tsebego,

o tsoma ditsela tse mpsha,
Step from the dark to find new paths,
O rotogela godimo,

o koba mellwane,

o dula gare mellwane.
And rise,
rewriting limits,
Living on the edge.

Amogela bophelo ka mo go lego ka gona.
Embrace existence exactly as it is
Ke tsoma tseo di sa tsebehego,

ke kgotsofetse tseo di tsebegego.
I chase the mysteries,

content with what is clear

Heavy Sights

I have been seeing my life like a bullet train
Crashing through meadows into hallow ground
Measure the sky with me I am already too tired
Lord Your world is too much for me but You defeated it for me
Apples or Oranges we Trust in Yeshua
Signals of violent skies and Juniper suns falling toward the earth
Under the ground I tried to hide myself except he is the very air I breath
No one can hide from him No one can escape him
He is our best friend who wants eternity to live with us forever as a family
He is always our Father who cares for us Diamonds mine my blood he is there in my very blood
do they not see he is within all his creation all so silly to imagine they could do anything but full submission to Jesus who is Yeshua who is Joshua my JayBird
He calls me His Yellow Patch also Della Vossa best friends with God is because I surrender to him every second. Thank you Jesus for saving my soul

Premium Member LOVING EYES FOCUS HEART SIGHTS

"If love lived as we imagine rather than dressed in reality’s fashion, the world would be filled with wonderful passion." Poet

Loving eyes often just see how they feel
based on their heart's inherent color wheel.
Logic's view is not considered much
once eyes have hooked love for hearts to reel.

Love resides within loves own clutch
where sweet visions clasp focused touch.
Lacking sightings of any downfall,
love bright eyes do not imagine such.

Sometimes love fails to see the wall
time evolved, incredibly dark, tall
and built from piled heart debris pain.
Love wide eyes are blind to false thrall.

Dreamy eyes never sought to view love's strain,
nor has any heart seeking gain.
Love wants to embrace all its true view knew,
not add more pain to mark time's dark wall stain.

Premium Member September One in our Sights

If the sky above is dark and gray
and your inner blues won’t go away

Think of what is bound to come
        by Monday morn, September one

      Weather fronts don’t last forever
        two-three days if they’re clever

So a Sunny Labor Day anticipate
~ Just blame me if ‘tis not worth the wait!

~ Note: Monday, Sept. One is "Labor Day" in the USA

Premium Member Of All the Sights I've Seen

I’ve traveled the world by air and by sea
Seen what many aren’t privileged to see

From heinous acts of terror to country-wide starvation
From the richest of rich to the poorest of nations

Seen the beauty of a shoreline warmed by a red sun
A homing pigeon fly thousands of miles on his annual ‘home run’

Yet of all the sights I’ve seen, at the top stands just one
~ The candles in the chapel lit, evening service begun

The Sounds and Sights of Solitude

Inspired by Christian Schaffer’s YouTube travel videos

Rolling fogs and crashing waves
Add to memories one saves
Kissy breeze upon your face
Rumbling vibes, no home base

Raindrops on the pane’s glass
Colored clouds moving mass
Mesh of moss imperfect blotch
Tallest trees eternal watch

Morning coffee, sunrise rays
Distant mountains in haze
Wide blue sky is van’s marquee
Things unspoken, set them free

Introspection, open eyes
Thoughts exposed mighty wise
World’s unspoiled rare scenes
Walk that beach in torn blue jeans

Ashen peaks in silent chants
Winter wind incessant rants
Lakes of green reflecting light
Forest creaking through the night

Swaying grass, the rustling sound
Fair maidens' heart unbound
Places shown, not betrayed
Road, alone, unafraid

Charming smile reflecting lens
At the end it all makes sense
Watch, imbibe, accept and jaunt
Wanderlust is what you want

She’s got the whole world in her sights
The whole wide world to her feels full of rights
She’s got the plain yellow duck and fancy mallard to agree
She is a miracle worker, our purple haired teacher, Mrs. McFee.

Premium Member Outdoors Calling

The sun shines down brightening up my day
Time to hit the great outdoors and go out and play
Both my heart and soul will thank me if I go out for a stroll in the park
Plenty of time to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature before it gets dark
Investing in my health is the most important thing I can do
It will improve my mood and sharpen my mind too
So many people out there to exchange pleasantries along the way
Lots of dogs running around barking, I wonder what they are trying to say
Music from an ice cream truck can be heard nearby
Trying to resist proves fruitless no matter how hard I try
This wonderful day must sadly come to an end
I think I will do it all again tomorrow and make it a trend

Premium Member Prenuptial Sights

We are love-tied doves
immaculately clad in white
toward our flight as a couple to witness
altar date, sealed with “till death do us part.”

While flying, our feathers radiate blest serenity
showcasing azure sky that has conquered gray clouds
vivified by rainbow colors accentuated by golden beams
midst kaleidoscopic hues of scarlet, blended with orange-crimson blast.

With gratitude to the heavenly Creator
our tweets of praise* join cyan firmament
ablaze with flaxen yellow along green freshness
conquering indigo tints against fading violet and lavender gleam.

Wishing wellness for all in glowing daylight
praying for sunny mood even beyond pink of health
on we settle to behold wedding, defying challenges’ blues
at the Palace in the Sky**, adorned with roses in vibrant colors.

*Psalm 150:6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

The fog is creeping through the trees
The woods have lost many leaves
There's a veil of gray from high to low
All is still, no wind to blow
It looks like smoke has covered land
Autumn tries to understand
Why its color has left so soon
And the birds have changed their tune
Until tomorrow, sun returns
To ease ill tension that churns
Change dismal views to memory
And bring new sights with clarity

Blank Sights and Brightened Paths

That’s the end!
A feeling crawls in
Times unaware
So creepy, so ghoulish
Gaping at the unseen

Schedules crushed
Strategies lost
Plans all crumbled
Listings crippled
And a doleful heart

Proclaimed by pals
As a resolute soul
Was I one
I did ask myself,
Once and more

Here I stand
Frozen and inert
Staring at nothing
All hollow and bare
Wishing if it all ends

Cool winds blow
Harsh and hard
Turning my cheek
Over to the path
Bright behind
Leading its way,
To Freedom and Love
New Horizons Bright
