Showing off your city
Guarantees a sense of pride
Will come bubbling to the surface
From where it is tucked inside.
For by sharing all the reasons
You have picked this place to stay,
You will reinforce, to you and others,
Why you feel that way.
We all have different needs
We hope our homes will help fulfill
And by showing off the highlights,
We know it’s all working, still.
Because I'd been good for a very long while,
my parents decided to buy me a crocodile.
Then all the kids on the block
thought I really did rock.
Till two weeks later,
another kid’s parents decided to buy him an alligator!
Shoot! And now some kid’s braggin’
his parents are gonna buy him a Komodo dragon.
Oh, my God! This is way over the top!
Will this neighborhood competition never stop?
Dawn’s dewdrops form a breathtaking lake
for the sunrise fairy who joys in a swim.
Far from shore, where problems well,
tears rise as fog, ferries in daffodil sun.
For the sunrise fairy who joys in a swim,
spied by the charming boy-next-foxglove,
tears rise as fog, ferries in daffodil sun.
She blushes pink petals as wings draw closer.
Spied by the charming boy-next-foxglove,
showing off on the Spring’s zephyr-crest.
She blushes pink petals as wings draw closer,
flashes a timid smile, beckons come hither.
Showing off on the Spring’s zephyr-crest,
crush swimming in air, backstroking, diving.
Flashes a timid smile, beckons come hither -
she’s snared this bird of jove.
Crush swimming in air, backstroking, diving.
Sunrise has seen him before and his antics.
She’s snared this bird of jove.
He believes his dreams are coming true.
Sunrise has seen him before and his antics,
Far from shore, where problems well.
He believes his dreams are coming true.
Dawn’s dewdrops form a breathtaking lake.
Showing off her flag
Was the lady in white
She felt pride of course
In the soldiers that fight
Her own sacrifice was her brother Jim
She was not sure what battle he was fighting in
But WWI was in full swing, on this day
When she raised the flag yelling “hip hip hooray!”
Green poodle haired dogs, female of course
Outrunning the track stars, outrunning a horse
Having their hair dyed the next day in every green color
Showing off a unique variety of glitziness one way or another
My garden has bellflowers, globe flowers and cornflowers too
I spend many hours weeding the rows, making it look new
Sometimes a pretty renegade violet sneaks in, what can I do?
I leave her unviolated, she adds a gorgeous splash of blue.
My neighbor old Cyrus brought me some bulbs of iris today.
I will plant them in fall; it is not time for them to make their way.
He said, “Your marigolds are so beautiful, ruffled and gay!”
Uplifted my mood, showing Cyrus my flower garden today.
Your bleeding heart is so gorgeous! He said. What is your trick?
He is right; she is the quintessential flower, fluffy and thick.
She was a start from my great Grandmother, Molly McNick.
She was an Irish wizard, who could grow a flower in brick.
You have inherited her green thumb, Old Cyrus told me.
Your Queen Anne’s lace and daisies are a pleasure to see.
I felt happy that he did nothing to disturb my busy bumble bee.
Many winged creatures aid in my garden of ecstasy

flakes begin with bits and glimpses
appearing from the middle of the gray winter sky
dusting brown dried grass, then covering
a frosty frosting that begins thickening
flakes become larger, more insistent.
magically transforming your yard to a wonderland
within an hour you have a glimpse of heaven
lovely silence amid the work of the snowflakes
a cardinal flies past, emphasizing snow’s whiteness
She gleams and twinkles, glistens
Showing off her diamonds, and her blue shadows
You gasp, for her magnificence startles you each time.
Not too much showing off, now grandma.
I smile, showing my gold tooth.
He knows he is in trouble, but his mother could not be shrunk.
Not open minded enough, I imagine.
The science fair starts three minutes late.
This irritates me, for my I-phone could also not be shrunk
So here I sit, waiting.
HEY! Look at this little person! A shrill voice yells.
I jump off my toadstool and begin to dance.
Flinging my arms, hopping around on my rooster legs.
I am in full swing now, for there is a crowd.
My grandson picks up my containment jar and takes us to the back.
My fans are loudly protesting.
I said you have to calm down, he told me sternly.
The teacher is irritated because everyone is at this booth.
The other kids are jealous and angry with me too.
I sit and behave myself, and the crowd starts to leave.
There is only one sad looking four year old left.
I put on my tiara and pink glitzy feathered boa begin to dance.
He should not have chosen THIS grandma if he wanted good behavior.
This is story which people will tell;
They sat on shore for a short spell,
And clamored;
Were enamored,
While they had counted each shell.

Trump Appears To Be Showing Off
Trump appears again to show off,
When he will play a round of golf,
With putter,
Will stutter;
More money for him up must cough.
As usual what we had Feared;
Trump said Jesus wore a beard,
While walking,
And talking
Both of them would look weird.
God said that Trump liked to tweet
While his big bottom sits on a seat;
Being Bluster,
In a cluster;
Happily him Democrats did defeat.
Trump With Iron Was Over Wrought
Trump with iron was over wrought;
How terrible had been his each shot,
We know still,
Is an imbecile,
And great player who is hot to trot.

PS. Need someone who will proof
my poems for me.
Trump always would trying to bond;
What he really did was to abscond;
Some say, One day,
Brains had been placed in a pond.
Danger did appear to be imminent;
About it they would be vehement;
Holy terror,
A big error;
Erroneous message had been sent.
In a city as big as New Yawk,
There’s so much at which tourists can gawk
But the locals’ fast pace
May be hard to embrace
So if guiding them, slow down your walk.
You can never squeeze everything in,
So pick places they never have been
And of course, be a mensch;*
Let them sit on a bench
Or exhaustion will make their heads spin.
Have them soak up the buzz we provide,
Surely different from where they reside.
They may love it or not
But at least they’ll have got
Just a taste of what fills us with pride.

Little flower showing off
it's colors so radiant,
blinding the eye with
such beauty.
Little flower drawing
the finest honey bees
any where in the county.
Little flower such
a wonder you are,
must pick you,
now so sorry.
Little flower showing off
in the house for awhile
will enjoy your charm
and amazing colors.

We're not showing off
And we won't put it off-
We're just praising the name of Jesus
But if we're showing off
Still we won't put it off-
We'll keep praising the name of Jesus (Chorus)
There are those who think the Lord requires a solemn face
And there are those who quench His Spirit in this place
But there are those who sing and shout with hands and hearts to raise
And they are those who're free to give God all their praise
And if we're getting on your nerve-
And if we don't fit your format-
Well we've got a God to serve-
And we know it's going to take all that
He's pleased with that- (Bridge)
(Chorus)
There are those who feel they know just how much it takes
And there are those who say we're going through a phase
So there are those who clap and dance with hands and hearts to raise
And they are those who're free to give God all their praise
(Bridge) (Chorus)
Praise Him for his goodness, praise Him for his love
Praise Him with your voices, praise Him all ye lands
Praise Him with the timbrel and all your instruments
Praise Him with a loud noise, sing and clap your hands (Repeat)
(Bridge) (Chorus)
