Premium Member Polecat and a Skunk
A polecat and a skunk met one day.
And why are you here? They both did say.
Knowing not of zoos,
They worked out in two’s,
And became best friends in every way....

Noah strove for enviro-protection. Plants and beasts he saved section by section. And now thanks to our brain all that soon will remain is a zoo and an herbal collection.

Meanwhile, human touch?

Premium Member What Use Is a Llama
Consider the neck-ed creature known as the llama
A species of alpaca that lives in zoos or dioramas

Some llamas look like camels, others like sheep
Tho I've never seen one shephereded by Little-Bo-Peep

As for me, I really haven't much use for llamas
Unless I need a pair of brown woolen pajamas...

Premium Member Well, I'M a Monkey's Uncle
Mr. Darwin claimed that we are descended from the apes!

In zoos you may see your kin in various species, sizes and shapes.

Verily, verily if this be true that we are related to the monkey,

Then, I reckon it could be said that 'I'm truly a monkey's unkie!'

Bears
Bears can be brown or white
They are naughty and love to fight

Bears have thick coats
thicker than those of mountain goats

Bears like to eat fish
but only when it's not served in a dish

Bears like to sit in one place
so that they can have some solace

Some like to climb trees
And feel they are free

Some are kept in zoos
Please let them live free too

Exploring
On a little vacation
Where you’ve never been,
Just Google the town
To know where to begin.

A list of museums
Or gardens or zoos
Will give you the info
You’re likely to use.

Take a peek at a map
And chart out a cool course.
Read others’ reviews
So you won’t feel remorse.

Then set out to explore.
If the weather gods smile,
You can take extra time
And relax for a while....

Milks
Warm milk, babies at breast.
Cold, cartoned milk for rest.

Vitamin D, calcium for teeth,
And bones. Cow's milk's sweet.

Goat's milk and silky soy milk.
All good. Some like buttermilk.

It's clear, it is nature's way.
Some need bottles, that's ok.

In homes, in zoos, in the wild.
Milk, wholesome milk for child.

Grown ups should drink it too.
Not a doubt, it's good for you....

Even predators have mothers
and with the soft mewling eyes of infancy
they search, search for the breast of mother
the beak, the tooth, the talon, the claw…
Children worldwide hunger.
The small weak voices and stone dead eyes calling out
to those who have…
Mothers making stone soup.
Mothers giving of their own body the last
remnants of harsh life as the haves
go on safari’s or to zoos to
feed the animals....

I do love animals; Dogs and cats; birds and rats; Turtles, bunnies, deer and Even penguins; it’s true. People who know me well Will tell you that I do. When I go to zoos They behave badly; Kicking at fences, Just to get to me; For some love, you see. I am well loved By animals; And they by me Oh yes, it’s true. I am an Animal Magnet; yes. And well Loved I, Be.

Another Life On Mars
We want to enrich
     its atmosphere by planting trees
and anything that has
roots. We also want to pump
some of our oxygen into its
   thin sheet of air.

We want to bring zoos
and cattle ranches on the red planet.

We want to build homes
and real estates for rich folks
  who can afford space
     odysseys.

We want another life
    on Mars, before we destroy
 our Earth with pollution
   and wars.......

The Lions' Share
The Copenhagen Zoo did such
An awful, stupid thing,
They should have been prepared
For all the fury it would bring.

They killed a two year old giraffe,
One Marius by name,
And fed him to the lions,
Adding fire to the flame.

They had enough giraffes and so
A “surplus” wasn’t needed.
Despite the pleas of zoos and people,
Boldly, they proceeded.

Poor Marius was sacrificed
And made into a meal,
A horrible decision,
Idiotic and surreal....

Premium Member A Wolf Thought Experiment
Do not be perturbed said the man in charge
You must not think of wolves of any sort

Immediately they thought of wolves,
some in story books on tiny shelves...
Some went hunting them in make-believe
or went to far off zoos
Some thought of photographs -
those mostly frightening kind

Did anyone NOT think of wolves?

One stood up quickly, he...

I thought of Mary, that man said. She's anti-wolves and anti-dogs
and oh... so anti-me.

Return of the Tourists
The Circle Line is chugging by,
The tourists coming back,
Perhaps because the vaccination
Rates are right on track.

Museums have been opening,
The Gardens and the zoos.
The clubs are back in business;
There are many things to choose.

I’m not quite ready to step out
From inside my cocoon,
But as I watch life moving on,
I hope to do so soon.

Before I travel, first I’ll try,
Like tourists on that boat,
To wade into the sea of life
To see if I can float....

Caged Life
I look out from the iron bars
Wish I could go out for a long walk
Living in four walls
Walking within is maddening
My body has become stiff, I desperately need exercise
I want to chat with others
Share, laugh and enjoy life
This life is depressing
Especially for an extrovert like me
God please end this
If not at least give me death.

Note: I was talking about caged animals. If you could relate to this, please empathize with animals. Stop caging animals and visiting zoos....
