Wild Thing
The wild rose expresses the essence of life and beauty
a sweet blossom atop thorny stems with roots entirely her own
the fragrant lure summons as honey bee makes its approach...

Now and Then
I got friends who are dying
Isn't everybody?
Yeah . But they live as if they were.
Making every moment and chance count
Sorta like a hawk
Or a sparrow
Or any wild thing
I got friends who live
In the present
Tense
I got friends
It's a nice feeling
For now....

Wild Heart
A wild thing at heart,
untameable at best.
Going insane in cages,
locked away, no rest.
Fleeing into the wind,
the forest calling out.
Run away from cities,
far beyond a doubt.
Skim across the sea,
lost inside the forest.
Free the raging heart,
it always was the fastest....

My Butterfly
My butterfly so beautiful and full of grace
you flutter your wings and fly
fly straight to my heart
your eyes so blue
your lips red rubbies too
I hope to catch you in my net
to love you and never forget
you are a wild thing
meant to do your own thing
i will set you free
I wander if you will ever come back to me...

Taking the Dog To the Vet
I called and called. She wouldn’t come.
Hiding in manzanita – had she
become a wild thing?

Search partner for eleven years.

Now, tumors in her lungs.
It was time. We’d dug the grave
and spoken the sentence.

Deaf to my command. A dog

who read my mind, who knew at least
five words for “find” – and I
imagined she didn’t understand?...

Almost Like Pegasus - Duo-Rhyme
He stands so proud, his head held high, He scents the air, nose to the sky; To smell just what the rain might bring, He’s regal like a royal king He’s so majestic, a wild thing, His prancing step now has a spring, Feel the power his body sings; Look close now you can see his wings, Almost as if he wants to fly; Up to the gods high in the sky…

Premium Member Grandmas Know
He was everything her daddy had warned her against,
Before daddy left them for a young floozy.
His black leather jacket enhanced his angriness.
Everything about him made her a bit woozy.
Stay away from that wild thing, her mother warned.
When it came to her daughter, she was rather choosy.
I’d snap that one up in a pink minute, Grandma said.
He’s danger on a stick, a fascinating doozy!...

Wacky Weekend
For the Life without U and Me contest.

Willy walks across the wild orchids
Sporting a licking from nanny

Kick, kick, kick my ball
Sponsoring a bad day for all

Soaking in the whys
Hopping angry,

"Today, I will go to Canada
Nanny's gonna kiss this boy!"

Wild thing in a slow snit
Lips big and tripping his body,

Down cast sight
Will last all night!

I think I did it with no "u-m-e"?...

Patience
Patience
The virtue to wait poised
And only grab the moment
Opportunity present itself.
Not as one in wits weak
Who knows not the way:
But as strong wild thing
Never held in a cage.

Leopard lay in wait
Spotted in great beauty
Wagging its tail in silence
As if dead lying quiet and calm
Building up great strength within
Waiting till opportune moment
To spring and pounce
On fruits of patience....

There Is More To Me- For Pc
I searched high and low
for years and years
I almost gave up

I can see it at the edge of my eye
in the middle of the road, shimmering
eight arms reaching out
eight hearts beating the rhythm
eyes streaming tears of joy

there is more to me than this
I can feel its pull, feel it change
I can feel your sadness passing

love me like a wild thing
like the wind and the sky love the sea
love me for the wild things
for all the things I 'll be...

Flames
The essence of you swirls and
flows around me like a wild thing
that moves just outside the light
that is the burning flames of love
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Sometimes coming so close that
the flames dance with wild desire
and other times moving away and
leaving them as cooling embers
waiting to once more be fanned
into heartwarming flames of love

unrecognized
you left me behind
when you ascended into the clouds
you weren't there
when they held me down and broke my wings
because they were scared of my potential
and perhaps they succeeded
in breaking my spirit
because i tremble when the wind blows
and see your face only in my dreams
i am afraid
for you to see this creature i have become
this wild thing
that shies from human touch
for how could you still know me
when i can't recognize myself?...

The Strategist
Aloof on the battle field her combat skill cries,
Irish blood runs wild with little inebriation,
Indian warrior counts coup in feather stories,
Russian Viking lines in dormant breeding.

Duchess plays nature with tulip aroma,
Creative Polish gene encounters blush with pink,
A wild thing as the spirits seduces her faith;
Tempting to redo her life's aspirations?

Touch me not with your hate for I am no kin;
Hold me to thy lips with love so we may sin....

Dear Angel
Your nicknames come to mind.
Those silly names we used all the time.
We’d call you over.
We still remember…
Now all we have are the echos.
Of the names we used to know.
Your real name no longer makes me cry.
But “Sweetheart” brings a tear to my eye.
I remember,
That time in December.
You climbed the Christmas Tree.
We called you “Wild Thing.”
Sometimes, you were “Princess.”
We would obsess.
And now you are “Angel.”
No longer in this world we know....

Melancholy Memory
A bouncing puppy,
So cute and full of life,
A small cuddly bundle
In my arms…

A naughty young dog,
Fails dog training classes,
Full of mischief and fun,
He’s my boy…

Loves to be cuddled,
Treated like a baby
Indoors; but when outdoors,
A wild thing…

Personality
So strong, mind of his own,
Never a dull moment
With Paddy…

A huge lump appears,
The vet gives him some pills,
Buys precious extra time,
Rest In Peace…

For Constance’s Melancholy Memory contest, using her Melancholy Form...

Premium Member A Fir Away
Snarled locks of black twisted fur
A fir away from where I stood
In the close air, it's stirring
No shelter from what's good

She looks to me with tired eyes
Inside are shades of countryside
The sand and rocks of which she spies
Into her, unto me, this world resides

What can one say to a wild thing?
Nothing is truly understood,
Yet we want for a song to sing,
Blurs the lines between bad and good

However close we're aiming to be
We can't be nearer to the meaning of free...
