The Bench
A man once sat at a park bench
When he smelled a peculiar stench
Then right out of the sky
Fell a whopping bird pie
The man's wore a hat ever since...

Watermelon
Whopping big or small sized -
With inside red flesh of
Wonderful sweetness, this
Weighty fruit’s percent of
Water is ninety-two!
Wow! That’s great hydration.
Wish I had some right now.

Ladys Man
There once was a guy by the name of Ken
He had big feet, wore a whopping size ten
Thought he was a lady’s man
But woman saw him and ran
That’s exactly what Jill did way back then

Random Body Parts
I'm so old that when a couple of random body parts fall off
It's not a reason to call Emergency unless it's accompanied by a cough
The doc spent four minutes with me
Said to take two aspirins and we'll see
Spent four minutes sent a whopping bill which was covered by the law...

Nanny Gigi On Liars
Liars distort, manipulate
do not willingly subjugate
little gossip and whopping lies
let integrity be the prize
Discernment be your lips cement
let the words of truth lament
keep true north, shun the dirty south,
for a fly does not enter a closed mouth

Dress To Impress
Prince Harry’s to wed Meghan Markle
Her dress, see it shimmer and sparkle
What I can’t understand…
It cost fifty-six grand
No wonder there’s such a debacle!
Inspired by another news story
N B The haute couture dress was originally on sale for a whopping £56,000 ($77,587.23) but I've read they got it at a reduced cost

Sovereign of the Seas
She launched into sea in 1852,
And was build by Donald McKay.
She sailed from Honolulu, Hawaii
To New York in a whopping 82 days.
She set the fastest speed ever recorded,
On her second leg voyage for a sailing ship.
She logged in at 22 knots/25 mph,
Over a 24 hour, 400 mile trip.
She loved to sail the open ocean,
Sailing away with the breeze.
She was a Bostonian Clipper Ship,
Named the Sovereign of the seas....

Croaking,My Song
Deep in to the woods by spring
my quest by daybreak for croaking,
frog croaking, nature enthusiast‘s song,
hit upon by the fag end, a puddle,
frogs, a few in high spirits hopping,
something took the winds out of my sails!
whopping snake, old inactive by water,
these frogs take the snake a worm,
took me back to an old proverb:
when the snakes get old,
the frogs get him by the balls!
laughing I too tried some croaking!
great nap my song all around!...

Bullysoup
whopping bully
torments soupers fully
picks on others writes
although her writing bites
great big bully
eyes must be woolly
she attempts hurt
with words curt

“poetry is freedom of expression. Soupers should feel free to share their innermost thoughts without fear of being persecuted. Nobody likes a bully. If you do not have something nice or constructive to say, don’t say it”....

Learn Well From a Natural Tell Nursery Rhyme
With a tweet and twiddle,
something sweet and little,
a birdie tells you to be wise
and never tell whopping lies.
Learn well from a natural tell.
Buzzing hives will honey swell.
Dangerous queens and wingers.
Avoid lovely-lively stingers!
Be wise, not afraid of the night.
bright as stars and super-moonlight.
The owl lifts you when your down-low,
woot-woots as bravo-brave you grow.

Greasy When Wet
Some poetic thoughts bubble
to the top of your deep waters.
There they congregate, bobbing up and down
forming slicks, oily smears that linger
only to accuse you later when you return to them.
There is a detergent for cleaning them up
it comes in a small spray can
labeled 'revise, edit, or delete.'
Fore heaven's sake
don't let them burst and spill
over the pristine innocence of a page.
Many whopping environmental disasters
begin with a wee smudge....

2021 Marketing
Want to cancel your student loan debt?
Sixth call about it this week.
If I had an outstanding student loan
it would be fifty years old by now.
I read their texts and roll my eyes.
The next text comes in.
Want to add two inches to your willy?
If I did it would be a whopping two inches.
A happy jazzy song about tampons shouts at me from the TV.
Please take me back to the olden days, the fifties and sixties.
When none of this stuff was marketed on TV or on a telephone....

A Cautionary Nursery Rhyme
Solomon Grundy, Solomon Grundy,
sniffer of glue, when offered, on Monday.
The Tuesday was hash, a whopping great spliff;
on Wednesday took coke, a generous sniff.
For Thursday some crack, the dodgiest brand,
and Friday’s dope needle was quite second-hand.
When Saturday came, a massive OD;
on Sunday it ended, this hedonist spree.
In spite of the blurb you find on a packet,
right up to the end, he thought he could hack it!
