Dress To Impress

Prince Harry’s to wed Meghan Markle Her dress, see it shimmer and sparkle What I can’t understand… It cost fifty-six grand No wonder there’s such a debacle! Inspired by another news story N B The haute couture dress was originally on sale for a whopping £56,000 ($77,587.23) but I've read they got it at a reduced cost 01/21/18

Just another example of how the FILTHY rich flaunt their wealth and power in the faces of the poor. Great poem, Jan.

Thanks Carole ... Princess Beatrice recently got engaged... her dress cost about £1600, still expensive but a lot more sensible price then Meghan's dress (even if they got it a much reduced rate) :-) hugs jan xx

Exactly John and even if they got it at a much reduced cost I am sure it was still ridiculously expensive... but they have the money and it was a special occasion but for the likes of us it is something we would never dream of being so extravagant.:-) hugs jan xx

An enjoyable Limerick, Jan:)The subject matter is one that I have often pondered about; one can obtain lovely dresses without having to dish out the earth for them! Hugs // paul

It's a pretty obscene amount of money for dress even if they got it at a special rate ... how many normal people can or would buy stuff like that!:-) hugs jan xx

ha! an excellent limerick, jan! any item of clothing that costs that much just boggles my mind. i think it can never be justified, no matter who's wearing it...

I think the top is pretty but am not fussed with the ruffled lower part - I can't wait to read how much her wedding dress costs! they may be loaded but its a pretty obscene amount of money when people are on the streets starving:-( hugs jan xx

Great limerick! For a DRESS that's only gonna be worn once, or is that just the wedding dress, whatever, like you said you could buy a small house for that? Something else you've just enlightened me on, shaken and stirred ;) thank you! hugs Mick

You can buy a house for that much in some places! I guess money is no object to them and it is a special occasion but it has raised an eyebrow rather like Prince William's haircut! I wrote this poem a few weeks back but thought it the ideal time after the other poem i posted yesterday:-) hugs Jan xx
