A Poem For Vivian
that little
mailbox
that
you make
so
big
is my
home
where i live
knock
lightly
for
with gifts
guilt prevails
and
i
may
not
know
you
anymore...

How Will I Know
Here’s something to make Vivian think,
but I’m sure he knows the missing link.
I ask is he able to show
me, how will I ever know,
when I’ve run out of invisible ink....

Fraggily Grizzily
Vivian Wigglely,
wit in his poems is the
mark of his game.

Some of his words yet weep
vulnerability
Crying his sorrow, but,
what's with the name!

Premium Member Vivacious Vivian
She is vivacious,
Yellow flecks in her eyes intrigue us
Her unleashed excitement is golden
She is nineteen, and confident
She lavishes us with enthusiasm
Her wit flickers like a flame on fire
We are intrigued, excited, alive!
Loving this moment...

Premium Member Split Heart
Home, they say, does quicken beating hearts,
yet mine protests as I prepare to go.
Chambered rooms, stretched endless miles apart,
strain the pump and cause the blood to slow.
Precious thoughts of her upon my chest
stoke the fires and help the embers burn;
Vivian, may thy sweet days be blessed
Till in a month I’m able to return....

Premium Member The Company You Keep
All quiet on the western front:
The rest, in bed, still sleeping.
Then, audibly, I hear a grunt;
The neck hairs start their creeping.

Then springing up from on the couch
To do a full room sweeping,
I stub a toe, a stifled ouch,
And words that need some bleeping.

And there beneath me, I can vouch,
The monitor is beeping.
It’s Vivian, no ogrish grouch,
Whose company I’m keeping....

Premium Member Absence
absence (for Vivian Meir)

remember you?
by your absence,
a worn spot, well rubbed,
on the decrepit park bench
will not be polished
any longer

a hunched, disappearing shadow
listening intently
to the living rise and fall
of a chill winter’s lake.

snow, misses you
there is no one to frame
floating in your mind
to where?
it is a secret!

you are gone
and people recognize that fact
because of the terrible weight
of your absence....

Premium Member Deranged
to the tune of Home on the Range In the woods, in the gloam There’s a muttering gnome Like his mind, he’s wandered away And he should be interred Yes, the thought has occurred But the jailers would not last a day Big daddy’s deranged He’s losing it more every day He makes up strange words And it all sounds absurd But the kids do not care anyway ————— Some of the many happy verses Vivian was subjected to singing and walking in the woods.
