Randomling 16: Musical Believer
Though my conscience sleeps,
wrapped in the Valium of
agnosticism, it awakens to
the music of Mozart---
once more knowing God
by the sound of His voice....

An Addict In the Attic
Give me Pills to cure my Ills,
As ev'ry ache I contemplate
Drug me 'til my pleasure spills
When I'm over-dosed on Fate

Oscars
Oscar`s

Oscar night
Red carpet and
Clammy armpits
Valium
Skeletal women
Gasping for a fag
To smoke in public
Is social suicide
Wearing the latest
State of the art
Dresses
This vast frivolity
Is seen by millions...

Premium Member Opposite Effect On Me
Pills have the opposite effect on me.
Valium relaxes some.
It keeps me awake for three days.
Until I finally crash.
I am not talking about a handful of valium.
I am talking about one measly pill.
I always learn these things the hard way....

The Symbolic Life

Nine years old
And picking candy
Off the shelf at Woolworth.
Two Tootsie rolls, and
A Rolo, then a bite off of
A wax bottle filled with sugar.
Forty nine years old,
And picking candy out of
My medicine bottle,
Two Oxycodones,
And a Morphine,
And bite off a Valium....

Why Did You Leave Me
I wish I'd never found the coroners report
Empty bottle of Valium
Empty bottle of Imiprimine
More empty bottles
Two fifths of Vodka
One empty
One still full
Garage door closed
Hose from exhaust to wing window
Wasn't I enough for him to live for
Why daddy
Why did you leave me
My heart has been breaking for 36 years
Couldn't have lived at least for me...

Helium On Caesium
The son of Helios He was the noble Helium
But He was an elemental slug fond of Valium
All said He was not at all noble
                                   He was basically Ignoble-
Anomalous wetting of Helium on Caesium

Premium Member Sanity Is a Fragile Gift
Sanity is a Fragile Gift

Sanity must be a fragile gift; so many lose it.
Whispered voices in our heads. Who are you?
Guilty? Or maybe a victim of circumstance?
My biology and chemistry are enablers.

Valium and Xanax and beer and wine help me to
not scream naked in the street and break down.
Anything to avoid trips to the mental wards.
That becomes their go to "treatment". Lost......

Premium Member To Pass Something Off As Acceptable
What does that mean?
I'm sittin' here tryin' to figure
like if it means like you don't like
the use of the word like then is like,
like un acceptable?

Or if you meet a stranger who has
no idea you just spent
thirty seven hours in the ED with your
daughter who tried to OD and they make a crack
about valium, is that un acceptable?

And who is the one who
does the accepting anyhow?

Enlighten me, please....

To Make Love
Is loving better than Valium?
Yes, so good for the endorphins,
As into golden years we're a'morphing,
So, better than Valium is our loving,
My hair and skin are a'glowing,
Through the window you are going,
Any loving is good loving,
As my olden age is greying,
To my lover I'm imagining,
You are in my brain's imagination,
For guaranteed satisfaction,
So, is this good for the endorphins?
Yes, loving is better than Valium!...

The Valium Bath
Fixed under water glass
Like a splinter beneath Poseidon's skin
There is no Sunday
And no one knows Rhyme
With her cool hands
And her goat's feet.

There are only
Walking dead
From whose wool-lined mouths
Pour blindfolds
And broken keys
Strangle holds
And bloody knees.

Rapunzel bruised
Left for dead forgotten
Bound and gagged
By her own golden hair.
Drowning in the Valium Bath
Warm and blind
Dying slow
But unaware....

Premium Member Day I Stepped On Back of a Chair
I stepped back onto the back of the chair, not the seat.
Began screaming when I realized I was going down hard.
My foot landed in six different directions.
I yelled “Get the boss! Get co-workers! Get everybody!”

Ambulance came to get me. EMTs were very nice.
Gave me medication that kept me from going into shock.
I had torn my meniscus, and my ACL and I had bruised a leg bone.
Valium and morphine got me through it; I was singing songs now....

Acting Out
Not a care in the world
Nothing surfaced that day
Just a vision in my head twirled
My actions left everyone with nothing to say

Pure shock with little value
Keep the change
I’m half way through
Two dozen valium

Ready to start the day
Chapter...oh who knows?
Starring myself
In this alcoholic play

Starting to wonder if I exist
Its bliss I seek but pain I find
I focus my glare to tell the difference
But it’s hard to see through this alcoholic mist...
