Day I Stepped On Back of a Chair

I stepped back onto the back of the chair, not the seat. Began screaming when I realized I was going down hard. My foot landed in six different directions. I yelled “Get the boss! Get co-workers! Get everybody!” Ambulance came to get me. EMTs were very nice. Gave me medication that kept me from going into shock. I had torn my meniscus, and my ACL and I had bruised a leg bone. Valium and morphine got me through it; I was singing songs now.

I hope this was not a recent scenario for you. Be careful with that meniscus. I slightly tore mine once and quite painful. Depending on how severe of a tear. Mine luckily did not need any surgery. It's like a rubber band and if they start snipping it, you could end up bone on bone with a knee replacement. Hopefully not..

this happened seven years ago. I was determined to walk without a walker when my grandson was born six weeks later. I made my goal but it was the first day I walked without a walker.

Ha! The only broken bone Deb ever got was by sitting the wrong way on a chair while teaching. Broke her arm! And kids wonder why we tell them not to do those things. We learned the hard way!
