They fade away
Cold poems
Yellowed pages
Unread
Old warriors
Cold souls
Unsheathed
Blades dulled
Forgotten
Words
Buried
In tomes
sight...
a prophet's mark unsheathed
radiant, quell the shadow's scream
her lips were never meant for me
in auguries
... blood uncharted
green leaves, foreshadow,
of sword-like regalia…
lily buds unsheathed -
dainty pastels of yellow,
purple, pink and lavender
Far-off dreams
down distant streams
The heart pumps blood
imagination floods
Calm and cool
musical
wake up and breathe ~
soul unsheathed
Turbulent emotions,
Disparate thoughts,
Like a troubled sea,
They cease to be assuaged,
Raging tempest,
Unsheathed swords.

Bite Size Poem no. 36 Poetry Contest
Sword of
the noble
With fury
unsheathed
Trumping
dishonor
And knaves
unreprieved
Knighted in
armor
Endowed
from on high
Legend
heraldic
With duty
— reprised
(The New Room: September, 2024)
I gasp to breathe,
within this glass prison I've conceived.
An expansion of memories drifting,
across this mansion of crystal walls.
May they fall,
with the rest of this mess beneath.
Leaving me free,
with a mind unsheathed.
The Klingon king arose from his throne
A bird of prey that flew from the east
Gutterly screaming my name
Riding swiftly on currents of air
His talons unsheathed in preperation
Intent on taking no prisoners
I awaited with throat exposed
Gloomy-green, forested
Man, these are the haunts
Of what even now is
Leaping, while unsheathed, at
But strange food to it!
No less, for a creature
Friend, snorting, grunting
Wild; for the sound it makes.
Vain; in hoofing away.
Trying to outwit!
I don’t have to slay the dark,
my verse—the wolf unleashed
I don’t have to court the devil,
my words a sword unsheathed
I can live beneath the sun,
or in hurricanes of fright
To sleep beneath a crescent moon
—my poetry to fight
(Villanova Pennsylvania: April, 2017)
I don’t have to slay the dark,
my verse, the wolf unleashed
I don’t have to court the devil,
my words a sword unsheathed
I can live beneath the sun,
with days both clear and bright
Or sleep beneath the crescent moon
—my poetry to fight

Count Cat You Lah was the talk of the alley
We called her Mrs. Liberwith, you called her Sally.
We were scared of her ways, especially her sharp teeth.
A force to be feared, her knife usually unsheathed.
She did not hesitate to draw blood, this wild cat.
A scary anomaly, so fluffy, furious and formidably fat.
Water, is the condensation of creations vapor
and it's aspiring witness,
it's embrionic fluid, placenta and child.
Perspiring to be as valiant, as it
wields its unsheathed.
Bares it's teeth and streaks,
runs to and fro,
goes where it pleases,
taking a leak.
I guess it goes to show,
clearly, there's disclosures dew
to subject matter.
Coaxed from its vile sheath
To appease the voices from beneath
An instrument of unruly malice
A weapon as wise as it is callous
No fool shall get past it
Only those with wit
Only Those who are wise
Who Learn not by their eyes
Only they stand a chance
They who hold their stance
Do not flinch do not waver
Unless its death you savor
beach day
I play
no turf
go surf
offshore
no oar
ocean
motion
I took
a look
I saw
a maw
sharp teeth
unsheathed
bright white
large bite
shark bait
my fate
I swam
I scrammed
faster
faster
faster
passed her
freestyle
sea mile
achieve
reprieve
ashore
before
dispensed
past tense
some fun
I'm done
CAPTAIN CROOK
The telescope-kid eyed old Captain Crook.
Underneath the waves, tic toc croc, a-shook.
His sword unsheathed, Peter Pan...
A roar of seas hits the fan...
The croc did bequeath him a hapless Hook.

hits the fan - to have a dramatic, usually negative effect
Days we spend are lovely
Dances we do pretty
Daggers unsheathed sometimes
Downpour intervenes then
Distress becomes eustress
Dews come on silken leaves
Delightful days come back

Like an iris in soil
You brought me from deep under
As I rose with your nurture
I embraced the warmth of this mundane realm
Like a sword to a samurai
You clasped me in your affectionate grip
As you unsheathed me
Staining me with nature's blood
Forging me into a hardened warrior
One of winsome strength
My war would be fought on two fronts
One of love
The other euphoria
Hot raptor breath
Push goosebumps to life
On the golden-honey flesh
Of a most desired sight.
Deeply tanned and rubenesque,
Unsheathed, scented shoulders.
Arms that distill without cause to beckon
The wills of the penile-brained knights.
Wallow in her moist pink flower.
Defend with your armor that nymphet tower.
But beware, Dear Sir, should your eye slip up
Two orbs of Venus power.
The livery on fire
its horses set free
Misery beckons
the future to bleed
The gates are broke open
all streets painted red
Death has awakened
life dragged from its bed
One bugle is left
blowing perdition’s melee
All swords are unsheathed,
terror sharpens dismay
Tomorrow unpromised
today but a curse
The monster has cometh
—a hell upon earth

?r?
Words
It sometimes comes
as a whisper
flashing slyly
like an unsheathed sword
effortless in its escape
stainless in its will
It sometimes roars
fuming with malicious intent
like a glistening guillotine
hovering over many heads
It sometimes flows
with a steamy passion
entrenched with cunning roots
quietly silhouette
Stealthily amidst the quiet shadows
Subtly enforcing
tiring the feeble minds
Thinking perhaps that I was in love with myself ?
Mommy's precious baby daddy's little boy; bravely
Marching down their hallway tiny sword unsheathed
As swirling through the air; past her photographs these
Memories when I thought I saw a puddy kat disappearing
Beyound this blue door ? Holding my Bobby tight whispering
Into his furry eager ears; Sssssh, while tiptoing to her magical..
Mirrors where a thousand tales we have told ? Tis not I she cried.
Form:
Dark grey are the skies,
Hot tears scald my eyes,
Emotions simmer underneath,
I stand gritting my angered teeth,
Grief hid in those unshed tears,
A bit more than unsaid fears,
Layer by layer fury is unsheathed,
Little by little my restlessness breathed,
Spoken words reveal their violent sharpness,
Unspoken words pierce through the silent darkness,
Silence has a language of its own,
It stifles me and chills every bone.

our swords unsheathed
it is our time to spar
sparing no blows
no matter
how hard
flesh feels the wounds
with love and lust filled
thrusts trusting
to make a mark
scar the heart
pain changes to bliss
torturing each other
with touch just so
then i give in
taking
your sword in hand
guiding it towards
a hole made
many months
ago showing
you where i want
you to take me
even if
a little
death
is all i get
please
kill me
every
day
merci
