Silence Speaks

Dark grey are the skies, Hot tears scald my eyes, Emotions simmer underneath, I stand gritting my angered teeth, Grief hid in those unshed tears, A bit more than unsaid fears, Layer by layer fury is unsheathed, Little by little my restlessness breathed, Spoken words reveal their violent sharpness, Unspoken words pierce through the silent darkness, Silence has a language of its own, It stifles me and chills every bone. 02/22/19
