They Fade Away

They fade away
Cold poems
Yellowed pages
Unread

Old warriors
Cold souls
Unsheathed
Blades dulled

Forgotten
Words
Buried
In tomes

So true John, when I pick up an old script or poem, I can't seem to get back the original impetus or inspiration. Maria

I like to read uld piems. Surely not all are great, after reading truly great poets, I appteciate them, nore. Just slopping down words each day makes no sense. It did years ago. Yout last lines are terrific John, Pangie

John your words metaphorically ring true. They express the feelings I think most of us feel with our earlier writes. Maybe we should re post them to bring them back to life. Thank you for sharing...
