We ache for those
we truly love.
You hurt when I hurt.
Whether we live here,

Rhoda Not Rhonda
Rhoda not Rhonda
like the Rhoda from Mary Tyler Moore
but even more like Rhoda from "Rhoda"
any way Rhoda wrote a poem
i said Rhoda wrote a poem not Rhoda poem
"Who's Rhoda Rhoda Poem?"
NO! i said; Rhoda wrote a poem
"Rhoda Rhoda Poem. that's catchie"
never mind...

Leaving
When you leave its like i want to hide in your backpack,
When you say good-bye its like i say hello,
When you say ill be back i say welcome back,It may seem like your leaving for a lifetime,
When really you just arrived home from Keeping Our Freedom.

Please be Safe- Zach.Tyler.Burris...

Tippy Canoe and Tyler too
Gray rabbit is on top with attitude, spots overdue
Red rhino steadies him as he leans
Balancing a blue ball, which is filled with beans

Rocket ship is kind of in the middle
played by a panda who is never second fiddle
they are all riding across the lake on a tan canoe
decorated by the busy gnomes from Timbuktu...

Darkness Covered Eyes
Imprissoned within your shell,
lost inside it has you dwell.
Not bound by any strings,
still its puppet with no wings.
Your identity is its mask,
pain and misery the task.
Unconscious and unaware
is how it keeps you there.
A witness you must be...
the peace will set you free.
A watcher breaks its curse
in its death your rebirth!!

My Three Grandsons
I know three little boys,
who would like some toys,
this year grandpa is to poor
I would like to buy you more,
but saying I love you all,
Tyler, Nick, and Parker,
I know your all getting tall,
wish I could be there,
growing up to fast,
your childhood won't last,
this poem is my gift to you,
it was the only thing I could do.

The Story of Rain
Tyler Jones
Rain the Story Contest Poem

I see Rain from time to time.
With pain in her eyes she can't leave behind.
She knows this world is a preamble to the next.
She's someone divine in a world full of rejects.
Her visions of tomorrow fulfill her very soul.
Knowing the next world won't be so cold.
When parting from Rain I'm always filled with sorrow
Knowing her new world could come tomorrow....

Kids and Tyler
He sings so sweetly, my puppies perk
Up their ears. They love my grandkid
As much as I do. Larry opened the door
And Tyler ran in. He asked me why my
Treadmill was dusty. I said it's nice
Outside, so I prefer to walk. Then he
Asked for a Coke. I said it's in the
Fridge. His daddy got him a blue cup.
Gary's explaining the new stuff on a
Computer Diedra gave me. Michelle's
Offices are like mine. She's like me....

Election
Election

Nervously woke early to witness a questionable distraction
Playing my nostalgia as I looked at two color graphs,
Songs I Themed an American Pessimist mix;
Dr. Hook with the freaks
American Pie lyrics
Hard-times with Tyler
American Idiot from Green Day
Helping me feel my roots and love
Decades of low turn-out to millions-in
Deviated numbers effected me but
 The shear of the many
…. The beautiful....

1.  Her name is Torrie; born when I was barely twenty-one;
Making me a father when my adult life had just begun.

2.  His name is Tyler; the first born of my boys;
He came into the world smiling, adding to my joys.

3.  His name is Nolan; always saying the cutest things;
For the next twenty years, these were the total of my blessings.

4.  He came much later, through an adoption agency;
Spencer is my last child’s name – all of them completing me....

Tyler, Sunday Morning
Dark as a demon, but with the soul of
an angel, he's a Portuguese Water
Dog who's never been to sea, but, as
he oughta, he loves water, and highly
proprietary when you're watching
TV, downtime is shared, so it's his paw
on your foot, or else it's his head.
Morning ablutions, one leg in the air,
he waters a thicket, which wakes up a
cricket who begins to sing. The world
is his lavatory. Noblesse Obligatory.
It's a Water Dog thing.

                   for my granddog......
