To Muse
To muse is to stand over
Bright pooled thought, as twere.
More tranquil you, life's hid depths
When viewed thus - clearer....

My computer's away
   So, too, my Muse
'Tis sad but true
   Wish 'twere a Ruse

Hope they'll be back
   Pray they'll return
So can be penned
   'Ode to a Vacant Urn'...

Spirit Stirrers
Aroused within me
Re-awoke as 'twere
Fine senses, fleshless ones.
Make one feel deeper.

All of you lovelies
Honourably blest
Hovered round, so rained upon
Tearily know this.
Blushing, for amaryllis.
More abashed, dearest!...

Premium Member A Body of Water
I came across a body of water -
not a waterfall or rain.
I'm not sure if 'twere a lake
or something else.
I'll go with the something else
as 'twould be more exciting...
I saw a handsome man there
floating a raft towards his doom.

Premium Member Bonie Lass O' Loch Ness
O' my bonie lass o' Loch Ness,
Thou art so fair.
As the rays that melt wi' the sun,
And seyth fare-thee-weel to the moon bright,
on this half night.
Bidding my darlin bonie lass, o' Loch Ness
Aye goodnight,' twere a heavenly sight.
With hair of red, eyes so blue,
I bid goodnight, adieu....

The Seraph, Light
Til the last sword-like flicker
Keeps, as 'twere defended
As much as spellbound.
Camp fire's, not only. That starred
Above. Dread nights confound.

Or that, bare wick-held, staves off
What have, for phantom thoughts
Efformed; to assail.
This godsend. This seraph, Light.
O'er Death will prevail....

Somewhere in there
is a gap

'tween ones who lived into the net
and ones 'twere taught to use it

the times, they are..

if you can name that tune,
you're probably in the first category

For Carol Brown
'Tis with that very Ace I pen this Carol Brown...
For such were days 'twere card and I talk of every town...
Yet wisdom had the best o'me one hot and sultry night...
As I drew again from very deck which had done for me quite right.

My card you see was never... inside that deck at all...
It lay within the clever hand of that Devil in the Hall!

Milestone
A yell and a cheer!
Our first egg is here!
The gift from our new hens,
The first of the year.
And Anna came running,
The egg in her hand
as if `twere a diamond
From some distant land.
We all gathered close
As she softly set down
The first home-grown
Of a soft, creamy brown.
And from all the interest
We gave that egg then,
You'd think we had laid it
Instead of the hen!...

" For Ever "
So they say 'tis our way,
To sea we'll go down soon.
So they say 'tis with swoon,
To sea we'll go to play.

Yet those who know,
Say much so same.
We've made our game,
Of moon's dark silken glow.

Aye to those who look askance.
For 'twere it true,
Our sky was blue,
To sea we'd never prance.

For ever should we simply dance,
Our step thus seen as but by chance.
Let our hearts so then go,
This way that beneath sun's glow.
