Ladies falling from the sky
like twirling silver buttterflies
in white lace tutus
swirling, spinning
in a an evening performance
of a winter dance...

pristine tutus and music as their accompaniment
animated faces depicting an interloper’s story
six ballerinas tiptoe across the floor in unison

ballerinas wearing inverted tutus
dancing through my garden
enticing wasps and bees
their pinkness gives the garden a bit of bush
they are dainty as lipstick on a china doll

At rehearsal they adorn frilly ballerina tutus
Orchestra changes musical tempo; smiling Ziegfield girls, stall
Improvise with nuance of ballet and whimsical poses

happy day
squirrel ballet
tutus a twirl
laced slippers awhirl
recital galore
never a bore
fluffy tails spinning
prima donnas are winning
happy day happy day
loving this squirrel ballet

You twins have never looked better, said with contention.
Fred and Ted, dressed in tutus, trying for attention.
Their mother was the only one slightly a teensy bit amused.
Their homophobic father exploded, setting off his brain fuse.

In my room late one night, I caught six dancers all in white.
In tutus, flowered caps, and tights, they twirled on tiny pointed toes.
Seeing me, they froze; those living dolls..... mere porcelain again.

Nature-
"In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous." Aristole
I watch them rise on a warm zephyr breeze
like pirouetting ballerinas
spinning and twirling in mid air
in white gossamer tutus.
Small dandelion clocks
are parachuting
onto the ground -
nature’s way
to spread
seeds

My friends took me down to Broadway
To watch a newfangled ballet
T'was called the Buttcracker
And not the Nutcracker
The title was apt I can say
Some dancers were dressed in tutus
Bulges in their tights gave us clues
All the dancers were male
My friends face turned quite pale
Next time we should read the reviews!

Resplendent in glittering tutus
A frolic of fairies fluttered by
And their shimmering glistening hues
Made the prettiest rainbow in the sky

Swirling snowflakes are such a beautiful sight
Like ballerinas wearing filigree tutus of frosty white
Once naked tree branches now laden with snow
Children make snow angels, happy faces are aglow
A huge snowman is built I hear whoops of delight
As snow is gathered up for a fun snowball fight
I dress up so warmly with my hat, scarf, and gloves
Gazing at twirling snowflakes, which everyone loves

Beneath a blue canopy where apple and cherry blossoms float and pirouette... silhouettes in the light of day...ballerinas wearing tutus of fluttering Willow, Russian Olive, Crimson King and Maple leaves...bend and sway their supple limbs to a symphony played and sung by wind chimes, Cardinals, Red Wings, and Gold and Purple Finches...on Mother Nature's stage in my backyard.

As I gazed up high into the sky
Something special caught my eye
Resplendent in glittering tutus
A frolic of Fairies fluttered by
And their shimmering glistening hues
Made the prettiest rainbow in the sky

Life Isn't What It Used To Be.
Life isn't what it used to be with
unicorns and rainbows,
tutus and painted toes.
Life isn't what it used to be with
dragons and dinosaurs,
cleats and bruised cores.
Life isn't what it used to be because not it's
college parties and heavy drinks
Life isn't what it used to be because now it's
late dinners and filled sinks
Life isn't what it used to be because now
memories of the goof ole times tear me
apart every time I rethink.
