somewhere candles burn for me

Premium Member Chaotic
I traipse the globe as a travel blog pro,
My peregrine pace never gets too slow -
So crazy chaotic,
Extremely exotic -
Runs me into places and out of dough.

Why I traipse five miles a day
              to whittle time away

            Idling in a safe daydream
              gazing at a listless stream...

Premium Member Penny Whistle
I’ve got a penny whistle
I made it out of tin
I wander through the thistle
And traipse across the glen
A tune for bonnie lassie
On this wee flute I built
Soon as I get untangled
From the briars in my kilt...

A Sense Of Emptiness - Broken Wings

uncouth butterflies traipse
arduous treks at a colorless pace,
as broken vessels detour
unwelcomed, roaming cure
forsaking loves allure
heartaches fulfilling sorrows darkest space....

Edinburgh
Folklore drifts
past cobblestone
like ash.
Along High street,
I traipse through secrets,
foraging
ghosts in
Castle Rock’s
slate gaze.
I stir up
ancestors
to warm my spirit
as an Auld Reekie dawn
bares
its dented armor....

Tourists traipse over sites.
The necropolises
Team with the secular;
Teasing mortality.
Trauma and terror marked,
Tasked with introspection:
To learn ‘Never Forget’.

Mimsy, do kick off those shoes and traipse among the ivy. Dance away my moody blues, so lyrical and lively. Say adieu to noonday sun from underneath a shady tree. Do not tarry, darling, run and plant those luscious lips on me.

Greta's Glasgow Gripe
I wanted to traipse in the desert
But sand dunes were in the way
I went to ski in the mountains
But snow blocked the pass that day

It seems Mother Earth has a game
That she really loves to play
Forget about YOUR calendar
To Mother Earth, today is PAY DAY!...

New Friends
A field of flowers
blows in the wind
gently dancing
before my eyes

Some have blossomed
tossing petals
into the wind
for my enjoyment

Others budding
unfold just one petal
releasing aromas
that tantalize me

I traipse through the field
on a new adventure.

Dreams To Dawn
I meander through dreams looking for you
cloaked by darkness, confusion
I traipse through tall prairie grass and dense forest
observing from the shadows within, you wait
soundless, stoic, statuesque
a bird of prey, talons ready
I stumble over your heart's protective tripwire
and I fall....from dreams to dawn...

Thoughts worth Pondering Written: by Tom Wright 6/7/2018 A closed mind is no defense, Against thoughts that might traipse through it. Nor is credibility impervious, To things whispered from an out of control tongue. Nor can a heart become so inured, That it is inaccessible to God.

History of a Home
If I knew then that home was so
Ferociously fleeting,
I would have spent less time
Worrying about which way this world
Wished I would go,
And traipse tenaciously towards
The town with the house
Which gave me a tiny terrace
And a place to pour my passions
Into passages on pieces of paper
That I could call my own....

Premium Member The Fatal Moon
The lithe traipse of night wind
tingles in my ear with faint secrets
chiming through jacarandas
and June's lavender-strewn grass.
I stand before the fatal moon,
his ivory blood trail lilting on the lake.

We'll both be gone by morning,
he to his desolate canyons
and I to my lonely bed
where I'll awaken
to summer's lambent birth....

Minatory
minatory
are these thoughts
as they emerge
from the confines
of my riddled mind

memories affront me
in the wake of past
where you reside
buried not where you lie
beneath the sable stone

you still traipse
within night's shadows
taunting me
until i break
before the dawn
yet i rise the same

only the scars of time
remain intact...

Premium Member Traipse Through the Wood
The radar’s plain
It’s going to rain
And I’ll be stuck
Inside again

Or maybe not
They’re wrong a lot
You never know
It’s worth a shot

Though wet, it’s warm
Imparts no harm
Does entertain
A certain charm

Wet’s understood
She thinks it good
So Miss and I
Traipse through the wood

What A Beautiful
Human Being
you are
Like a precious gem
you shine
for all to wonder
It is a pleasure
to be in your presence,
to be bathed
in your magnificent glow
You are a gift
to all around
You traipse
through life with ease
never judging nor criticizing
Just living with your
own set of principles
that you keep
to yourself
with grace and humility

Back To You
i traipse along
these crystal sands
collecting memories
like shells, unbroken

a windy mist
of ocean's kiss
the sighs
of jaded palms
timeless shadows
of faded footsteps
leading back to you

my thoughts
fall silent
beneath the whispers
of endless waves

my mind
unclouded
blushes
in folds
of day

my smile
agleam
in its wake

...all leading
back to you...

Premium Member Stalking Moon
The pagan dark in onyx screams
as slow I walk this unclad street
in opal light of shadow dreams,
the stalking moon my frozen friend,
beneath whom all my sins portend,
until the dawn my soul redeems.

My taunting fears I cannot see,
but still I sense them 'round me traipse
somewhere on my periphery.
I waken all at once upright
as silent lays the haunting night.
The piercing moon still over me.

Slush
I'm never really in a rush
To traipse through gushy, mushy slush
Like that on any city street
Where puddles form from melting sleet.

The passing traffic sends up sprays
Of wetness that's seen better days
To splatter on your favorite coat
(And splash avoidance seems remote).

So in your boots just stride right through
And do what all New Yorkers do,
Which is to shrug or maybe kvetch
'Til we complete this slushy stretch....

Chained
I succumb
These bonds... they've broken me
trapped in this endless loop where i can find no peace
this life
It pummels me
The pestle and mortar are much too heavy
For my limp shoulders
These people
They're frightening
The demand from me constantly
To be much more than i am
I wish to be set free
This baggage it pulls on me
It drags me to the deep
I insist mutiny
But im no more than one man
I traipse to the edge
Please... Grab my hand...

The Stirrings of a Bug
I have trodden many a creature under foot
A few, unbeknownst
The bug has an intolerably short life span
And shorter yet, under foot
Do I traipse out of spite or cruel wonder?
No, it is just my disregard and shortsightedness
For I have been trampled upon,
From creatures smaller than me
They stir upon me, feelings of a bug
A distant rumbling of thunder
As I count the seconds after seeing the flash
There is a heavy weight upon me
Imagine what is stirred in a bug...

Premium Member Autumn Prayer
Leaves of all colors; orange, red and gold.. Crackle beneath my feet as I traipse across the lawn A shimmering sun dawns bright and mirrors my heart Filling this beautiful Autumn day with a gentle thought Love is all powerful, all knowing and all that makes me Into someone I can trust as God intends me to. Leaves flutter through the air, inviting me to prayer.
