Chained

I succumb
These bonds... they've broken me
trapped in this endless loop where i can find no peace
this life
It pummels me
The pestle and mortar are much too heavy
For my limp shoulders
These people
They're frightening
The demand from me constantly
To be much more than i am
I wish to be set free
This baggage it pulls on me
It drags me to the deep
I insist mutiny
But im no more than one man
I traipse to the edge
Please... Grab my hand

The weight of those chains can make moments unbearable at times. Keep looking up, because I'm reaching my hand out to you. ~ Brandy
