Keep Smiling

sunfilled peacefulness
ever teeter tottering
bouts of cloudiness

Progression of a Night Out

Sobriety
Lucid self-possession.
Clear-headed, composed, steadied
Abstention, temperance; Carouser, lush
Staggering, tottering, gibbering.
Intoxicated high.
Drunkenness

Dross

...for Sylvia Plath

Her grasp of things is gone,
she fiddles, and is lost
with no prospect of redress.

She hovers shapeless,
rudderless,
in a storm-toss'd mess.

Substanceless, tottering
in limbo's loveless hold,
merely dross.

in limbo's loveless hold,
only dross.

The Pillar

Weak,
You burst into tears

Fragile,
You break into pieces

Faltering,
You stumble along.

Tottering,
You trip over yourself.

Yet,
When it matters most

You
Remain upight

The pillar
On which this world

Stands:
You,

Sturdy and Unrelenting:
The Human Spirit

Elizabeth

A poor old man
	on tottering cane
in checkout line
	did stand

did watch the checker
	young and fair
be amused at
	the young men

as they gathered
	about her there
drawn by her
	sweet charms

he did think
	of younger days
when he would
	be there too

Ear To Ear

.

            Rickety
          Tottering
            Clatter
  Mine knees and hips
as hern in slow motion
       tramped front
         Mine lone
            bare

           Locked
         (grinning)
            hern
              to
            mine

A Moment Too Rapt

Words slip from your cracked lips unbound,
spilling over my chest without a sound.
My limps then writhe with a flair,
teeter-tottering, feet bare.
Do carouse me on this merry-go-round.

Confident Cocky Treepie

The treepie was confident and cocky, walking my fence
Tottering and tittering to himself, in a bravado-like manner
He was a handsome bird, his colors painted in compartments
Yellows, blacks, whites; he looked distinguished like a penguin
They both wear a tuxedo-like feather pattern

Duel Eternel

Listen to poem:
out of control chaos
behind the scenes
passion caution
duking it out
fists flying
teeter tottering
winning losing
caution passion

Leaving Your Last Breath

Like those last
luscious faintly
enfeebled breaths
bitterly breaking
through my
limply lifting lungs .
Fervently flooding
my tear filled
eyes. Tenderly
tottering into
those timidly
tight-lipped times .
Who wistfully
whispers
their coolly
cut cards of
kindred conversations.
Carefully kindling
their heart-crossed
corners of compassion.

As I Was Walking In the Snow

One day as I was walking in the snow, carefree 'till a patch of ice hit my toe; my arms flopping while slipping, tottering but not flipping; my new walking just so silly and slow. ___________________ February 17, 2018 Poetry/Limerick/As I Was Walking In The Snow Copyright Protected, ID 18- 9952-56-01 All Rights Reserved. Haggard Hemispheres Hankering

dusty drips drooling
inky lits lurching
felon fits fostering
callous contractions cupping
Haggard how hankering
oily oceans assembling

nocturnal nature nimbling
fiery feelings seducing
airy allotment amputating

bounty pulses puncturing
severed seals smirking
damp dark dancing

multifarious means metamorphosing
all transcending tottering.

Fifth Avenue

From steppes remote
    luxurious mink coats
  Fine leather boots
    tailored suits

  Fancy shoppes
    five-star hotels
  Back of splashy nightclubs
    exclusive brothels

  Rolls-Royces
    and Bentleys
  S-t-r-e-t-c-h ... L-i-m-o-u-s-i-n-e-s
    cafes serving the finest cuisine

  Wide-eyed with wonder
    passersby gape
  Dreams of Fifth Avenue
    from tottering fire escapes

Child's Play

Child's Play

Bouncing around on burbled bubbles
Balloons surprising
Tiny fingers
Toddles sweet innocence
Giggling
With delighted glee

Sun shaft alights
Bright through windows
Lands on the carpet
A golden ball
For wondered excitement
Laughs aloud

And to my amazed eyes
My daughter
Rushed tottering over
Picked up this nonchalant tossed sun pool
And threw the light
Back to the skies

Darkness

Unheralded purple on wings of hush
Stretching to infinity
A rebel erasing lines of sight
On a lark
Of inevitability

What forces have combined
To set this immutable wheel in play?
No haste it knows
Yet its advance is constant
As the day and evening goes

It measures progress in shades of gray
‘Til one last gasp
And we are plunged to sightless depths
Tottering, blind, and dumb
While the madman laughs

A Clap of Thunder

A flash of lightning
A clap of thunder
As a hard rains falling down
Through the misery of life’s window
With no respite to be found

Tottering along the pathways
Of life’s treachery
Forlorn and broken
Mapping out my destiny

Memories of failures
And what was meant to be
My endeavors all wrought
My own misery

Life holds meager meaning
Since my fall from all grace
Tattered and beaten
My head hangs in disgrace

Bennu

                                                 Bennu,
                                            Old and regal
                                   From a thousand lifetimes
                                     A go of tottering ashes,
                                  To upwards toward the sky
                                         Rebirthed and new,
                                                 Fly high

Identity

Reservoir of intelligence, beauty and passion,
And as a fairer creation,
I endeavoured for perfection.

Today I stand on tottering platform,
As a mannequin ,
Having lost my effulgence .

I am reduced to nonexistance ,
As you show the cold shoulder,
Having lost my identity.

In defiance to rejection,
As you spurn my passion,
I get annihilated.

I unwind all threads of bindings,
As for liberation of my soul,
Contrary to renunciation !!

Tottering On the Edge

I’m giving it a shot
even though I said I would not

If you say that phrase
I’ll be gone in a flash
and leave on the spot

I know where I belong
and I don’t want to be far gone
I just need to pass the time

It bring up my fears
of being stuck here
and never moving on

My heart is sending me miles away
unless I find a reason
a good reason for me to stay

Right now I’m teetering on the edge
because I know this isn’t where I belong

Warned

scheming and deceitful
it prowled shrouded
early in the morning
but there pretending
to not hear its warning
he closed his eyes
not to see the signs
when the clouds of darkness
wallowed in unfaltering
he couldn’t slow its roar
or ease the quivering
the disruption
the devastation
the teeter tottering
of invisible bowling pins
in rumbling chaotic raucus
tumbling down as rose the sun

Her Heart Spilling Over

Forever one second til,
one heartbeat from, stuck in time,
an eternity of moments undone.

In lyrical footsteps or shattered glass,
slithered pieces of a blue moon reflecting fractured paths,
falling off of moments gone by.

His heart tipping over,
upon glass, teeter-tottering choices,
one soul traveling one path, one page half mast.

How many angles in the ocean,
angels numbered on the sand, seashells crushed,
until a dream makes it unto land.
