And sometimes reality runs rings around dreams...

Ah, the American dream. Where the poor dream of being rich and the rich dream of being richer.

And the wealthy -- What do they dream of?

Ha, what a good story. Another knockout ending. I imagine all that from my back porch, too.

Good for you. I don't even imagine such stuff anymore, myself.

A very insightful poem, my friend. I think many that come to this country to experience the "American Dream". Most consider just having enough to live comfortably a dream. We don't have a supply problem on our planet, we just have a terrible distribution of the global resources. Have a great week Gershon. A poet friend in Texas, Bill

I'm taken aback with the discrepancy between the 5th Avenue glitz and the dreams of 5th Avenue from tottering fire escapes. I've often wondered why some folks are wealthy and others are not. I grew up poor...even when young I was puzzled. Food for thought, Gershon. Have a wonderful afternoon, Sara

We don't know the 'big picture.' At the end of the day, who is richer? -- He who gave away his wealth to other, or he who hoarded every penny he ever earned?

It is sad at the discrepancy between the incomes of people in our country and probably in the world. I would not want to be as rich as some people are though when they get terrible attitudes toward people. Thanks for sharing this creative and expressive one with us and for dropping by my pages. Sara
