Dross

...for Sylvia Plath

Her grasp of things is gone,
she meddles and is lost
with no prospect of redress.

She hovers shapeless,
rudderless in a
storm-toss'd mess.

Substanceless, tottering
in limbo's loveless hold,
only dross.
